That's far.  How long does it take the kids to get to school in the morning?  Glad you have water.

They catch the bus at 7, the youngest ones get to school at 7:20 and the Jr. High and HS kids get on different buses and they get to their schools about 7:40.

Hi Monkey's,

Does anyone have any knowledge on outdoor sensor lights, please?

I need sensor light for the 'front lawn lantern' and for the 'front door' outside light.

I called Home Depot, forget about speaking to any human being, especially, being transferred to the right department.

I am looking for a sensor that screws into the outdoor socket.

Thank-you

Usually the motion detector part is in the unit and not in the bulb.  There are motion detector sockets for INDOOR use only but I haven't found any for OUTDOOR use.  Replacing an outdoor light with a motion detector light fixture isn't very difficult.

Thank-you, Klaas, very helpful information.

BTW Seahorse if you go to Home Depot to pick up one of those sensors, they weren't with the light bulbs.  They were on another aisle, over by where the light switches and stuff are, at least in the Home Depot near me.

Thank-you, MuffyBee, for the details, especially to look in the right fixture department in H.D. I think all the stores are
uniform in their set-ups. I would have walked around dazed and confused in the wrong department:) Thanks for your
knowledge, it will be a helpful for all us Monkey's!

I just got this catalog in the mail and noticed this outdoor wireless motion activated light:

Thank-you, Klaas, this is wonderful new invention. I would need to keep C Batteries on hand, I like this idea, too.
This gives peace of mind, if the power went out the sensor would still be functioning. I think it is wise to have both electric
and battery motion detectors. Thank-you.

The Wii told my son he is overweight.  If he is overweight it is by one or two pounds.  He has been very depressed especially since our tv broke today (the button is pushed way in and won't turn on and the remote won't work unless you originally turned it off with the remote) so he could not exercise today on his Wii.

This really brought his spirits up.  I asked him if his stomach looked like that.  He said no!

Happy Valentine's Day Monkey's,  I want to remember Saint Valentine who gave us this fun holiday.

The Real Story of St. Valentine

http://www.cbn.com/spirituallife/ChurchAndMinistry/ChurchHistory/St_Valentine_The_Real_Story.aspx

snip..

"He was a Roman Priest at a time when there was an emperor called Claudias who persecuted the church at that particular time," Father O'Gara explains. " He also had an edict that prohibited the marriage of young people. This was based on the hypothesis that unmarried soldiers fought better than married soldiers because married soldiers might be afraid of what might happen to them or their wives or families if they died."

"I think we must bear in mind that it was a very permissive society in which Valentine lived," says Father O'Gara. "Polygamy would have been much more popular than just one woman and one man living together. And yet some of them seemed to be attracted to Christian faith. But obviously the church thought that marriage was very sacred between one man and one woman for their life and that it was to be encouraged. And so it immediately presented the problem to the Christian church of what to do about this."

"The idea of encouraging them to marry within the Christian church was what Valentine was about. And he secretly married them because of the edict."

Valentine was eventually caught, imprisoned and tortured for performing marriage ceremonies against command of Emperor Claudius the second. There are legends surrounding Valentine's actions while in prison.

"One of the men who was to judge him in line with the Roman law at the time was a man called Asterius, who's daughter was blind. He was supposed to have prayed with and healed the young girl with such astonishing effect that Asterius himself became Christian as a result."

In the year 269 AD, Valentine was sentenced to a three part execution of a beating, stoning, and finally decapitation all because of his stand for Christian marriage. The story goes that the last words he wrote were in a note to Asterius' daughter. He inspired today's romantic missives by signing it, "from your Valentine."

snip..

The lighter side of life these characters (Hoops & Yoyo) are a little high pitched but sorta fun.
