Casey Anthony CSI: Outline of Heart Decal On Duct Tape
By BRYAN LAVIETES and JANICE McDONALD
ORLANDO, Fla. June 13, 2011

An FBI forensics expert testified today in the Casey Anthony murder trial that she found the outline of a heart-shaped sticker on a piece of duct tape that was on the decomposed skull of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony.

The heart shaped outline, likened to the outline of debris that gathers around the edges of a used band-aid, was similar to a heart-shaped sticker that was found at the scene where Caylee's body was discovered. It was also similar to a roll of heart-shaped stickers that police found in Casey Anthony's bedroom.

The testimony by FBI latent print analyst Elizabeth Fontaine was like an episode of the popular television series "CSI," as she presented a tutorial on how to search for fingerprints.

Hello Monkeys  -- I'm quite disappointed too that the State is wrapping up its case.  I think there is a huge hole in it.  Although the State doesn't have to prove motive, many of us, including Shirley Pleasea and she should know, think the motive was to get even with Cindy for loving Caylee and sort of replacing Casey in her affections with that beautiful little girl.  George knew, Lee knew, apparently the entire neighborhood knew, Jessie knew, Amy knew, Tony knew, Ricardo knew, they all knew about  about the fights between Cindy and Casey.  The Jury doesn't know. What the jury got was a fairy tale of a  loving relationship between the two of them  and how they snuggled on the couch to watch a video of sweet Caylee at the nursing home, on the last day of her life, I might add.

A lot of people bought Cindy's act when she lied under oath, and not for the first time, either.  This time it was in court as a sworn witness.   I didn't buy it and I remember very clearly all of the Cindy's lies and actions and  some of those actions were illegal, IMO, and certainly lying to LE is illegal.  I believe the real Cindy was apparent in the Morgan depositions.  That's Cindy in all her glory, and that's Cindy's normal way of behaving, IMO.

so the jury will be left with the impression of a sweet, loving relationship between mother and daughter, and the defense will sacrifice George to get that murdering slut off.  That was the whole idea from the beginning, wasn't it?

Babybear

I believe that George may be the willing sacrificial lamb for the defence ... the willing sacrificial lamb who provides the reasonal doubt to save Casey from the death penalty/LWOP.

George will continue to deny the accusations of his lying daughter but ... the court of public opinion will give George the benefit of the doubt.  After all ... it has been revealed throughout the trial that every word that spews out of the mouth of Casey is a lie.

It is a win-win-win strategy that the defence is attempting.  IF the jury buys it ...

1.  Casey wins because she is not held fully accountable for the murder of the precious treasure that she was bless with.

2.  George and Cindy wins because that outcome of the trial was exactly what Caylee's grandparents were hoping for.

3.  Jose Baez and the Anthonys all win with a $2 Million dollar move deal with Lifetime.

Janet

Janet, I think you're right.  After all, George did say that he would do anything--anything--for Casey.  And it's a perfect plan.
Everybody gets what they want--Except of course, Lady Justice and the taxpayers of the state of Florida.

Is the big hole you see in pros. case motive, or are there other issues/holes that concern you?

I agree that the real Cindy is the one seen in Morgan's depositions.
In her interviews with LE she did not seem cooperative but defensive.

In the video of Caylee's 2nd birthday I did see a softness in Cindy when she was holding Caylee and smiling.  Since I've seen so little of that side of Cindy, it surprised me.  Not that Caylee wouldn't tug at one's heartstrings, but rather it was a Cindy I had not seen before.

I hope the jury is not left with the impression of a sweet, loving Mother daughter relationship.  It would leave them searching for a way to explain the unexplainable.  Particularly when Baaz gives them his twisted reasons for ICA'S behavior, ugly coping, etc.

Your last paragraph is frightening.  You have such a way with words and thank you for always calling it as you see it.

I sure wish the jury had Casey's stinky pants that Cindy washed.  I'm sure they would have tied ICA in perfectly with Caylee's decomposition.  A piece of extremely valuable evidence that got washed (probably over and over) down Cindy's drain.

Hi, Can--Yes the big hole I see--big enough to drive a truck through--is the lack of motive.  I know it isn't necessary to the state's case but it was there for the picking.  They allowed Cindy to lie under oath when they knew that she was lying. There are many witnesses to the state of affairs between Cindy and Casey. And IMO that's the key.  If Casey wanted to party, she could, as she said give Caylee to her parents.  But IMO, it was something more basic, something darker, deeper.  It was her hatred for Cindy at that particular moment.  Caylee had to go.  I'm really disappointed in the State's case.  There was so much more.

IMO no hung jury.  Casey will walk. And they will all live happily ever after.  Except Caylee.  She's dead.

I can't imagine what kind of "bombshell" could top his opening statement.
Monkey Devil!      Monkey Devil!      Monkey Devil!

After all Baez's insane statements, the only thing that would be a bombshell for me would be the grandfather in the nursing home to be revealed as Caylee's father.

That, would freak me out.

With all this speculation on Caylee's father, Caylee looked like Cindy- period.

Baez already accussed the George of sexually assaulting Casey, of being an accomplice in covering up Caylee's "accidental death", as someone else stated, what could top this?  The grandfather would top this.

ya that would be entertaining for sure, but no more believable than anything else he's said Smile

I agree that Caylee looked ALOT like Cindy, and not at all like Casey, and I think that REALLY pizzed Casey off.

Well I think it's all settled.....really......Cindy is Caylee's biodad!!!

Looks like Ashton is not taking this one lightly. Bozo is very uncomfortable.

One thing I don't understand is why Baez and team are objecting to so much of the witnesses testimonies! If he is still conceding this was an accident and Casey had nothing to do with the body disposal or any of the evidence we've heard.....and still plans to blame George or Kronk for everything that happened after Caylee 'drowned in the pool', why are they objecting to so much?? It doesn't make any sense. If the duhfense is planning to pin the aftermath on another person, he shouldn't be objecting.

Geeezeeeeeeeeeee.........I hope that made sense, lol.

I looked for a response and didn't find one...anyone understand?

Roy Kronk Subpoenaed By Casey Defense
Kronk Called In Caylee's Remains In 2008
POSTED: 4:19 pm EDT June 13, 2011
UPDATED: 4:26 pm EDT June 13, 2011

Video at link
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Roy Kronk has been subpoenaed as a witness for Casey Anthony's defense, his attorney told WESH 2 News.

Kronk is the former meter reader who discovered Caylee's remains in December 2008.

Anthony's defense claimed in opening statements that the young girl's remains were placed in the woods by Kronk, not by Casey as prosecutors allege.

IF Casey were to walk, I can't see how she could live happily ever after.  She's a social pariah with a very recognizable face that not even plastic surgery could conceal.  Plus, she couldn't afford it, what with all that money she owes the IRS.  And...who would hire her for any type of job?  (Well, besides the porn industry.)  Who would want to befriend her?  Rent her an apartment?  I can't even see her parents ever talking to her again, especially after she threw them under the bus in an attempt to save her own pathetic azz.  Seriously, I can't envision any sort of normal, happy life for her.  She's better off behind bars with her own kind.

1.  Something akin to a parent killing their own child to spite the other parent when it felt he/she has been wronged.

2.  I hope not.  I believe the state has proven its case.  Casey Anthony did take the life of two year old daughter.  The reasonable doubt will determine the extent of the consequences.

IMO

I have to say how ironic (or planned) the end of the state's CIC landing smack on the 15th of June, 3 yrs to the date of the last night of Caylee's life.

I feel the state has met the burden of proof because it is not proof beyond ALL doubt, it is proof beyond a reasonable doubt, and so many cases with merely circumstantial evidence have led to a conviction on far less evidence.

Here are just a few:

John Racz...this is a blueprint for Drew P's actions and the body was never found, no forensic evidence

http://nobodycases.blogstream.com/v1/pid/251911.html

 ::snipping2::

And while the case lacked a body and a weapon - generally considered necessities for murder convictions - Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman said it was just a matter of putting the pieces together until no other conclusion could be reached.

"Given that she had filed for divorce, moved out of her husband's house four days before she disappeared, served him with papers three days before she disappeared and told a number of her friends how afraid she was of him," Silverman said, "yeah, I think it was a fairly compelling case."

 ::snipping2::

Hans Reiser.....no body until he decided to give up the info at the last minute to avoid death penalty after he was found guilty and before the penalty phase IIRC, no weapon

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2008/04/reiser-guilty-o/

 ::snipping2::

Reiser and his attorney had argued that Nina Reiser was not dead, and had abandoned her children to sneak away to Russia, where the couple met in 1998, after he accused her of embezzling from his software company, Namesys.

In a murder case with no body, no crime scene, no reliable eyewitness and virtually no physical evidence, the prosecution began the trial last November with a daunting task ahead. By the time prosecutor Paul Hora rested his case February 14, he had called some 60 witnesses, but presented mostly circumstantial evidence demonstrating animus between Reiser and his wife, and suspicious behavior by the defendant following Nina’s disappearance in September, 2006.

 ::snipping2::

Scott Peterson...no cause of death, no forensic evidence except concrete found in driveway and in shop, and know murder scene.

Not to mention more cases than not are won on circumstantial evidence, I guess ppl want to see a CSI moment but it just isn't that way in most cases, so I feel confident this jury will convict on 1st degree murder, maybe not give her the DP.....but then again in Florida there only has to be a majority to vote for death and I read yesterday where only the majority need find aggravating factors and they need not agree on just what those aggravating factors were....I have asked an atty if I read that right because although I knew it only took a majority in the penalty phase voting for DP, but had never heard of the aggravating factor part.

I have heard a little rumbling from .... well I don't know whether to call them Casey-supporters, or people who are just so into "innocent until proven" that they won't allow people to have their own opinions outside of court until the final judgement comes... yet, I digress.... we'll call them KC-ites.   The KC-ites seem to think " just WAIT til you hear the defense's witnesses and side... it'll be all over then".

My question, does anyone really seriously think that this trial can be flipped during the defense section of this?  Because really, I'm as nervous as a cat in a room full of elephants about the virdict.  Until the last judgement given, the last appeal denied, I won't be comfortable with the results.  So could she walk?

Where are you 'hearing' this??   to answer your question.....NO way will she walk. The defenses' case?  what case? They can put KC on the stand...who is gonna believe her? She already told the LE the 'honest truth" and that was Zenaida kidnapped her child.

Mostly, the talk comes in the facebook live chat room that is connected to WESH's live streaming of the court.  I always just think of it as koolaid drinking, but then again today I'm reading (in here) that people are surprised at the holes in the prosecution's case.  I'll just be horrified if she walks.  And that's also what I was wondering - what defense witnesses, what case?  I thought maybe someone here would know what the KC-ites are referring to.

This makes me feel better.  I really just hope that she doesn't walk.  Little Caylee deserves her justice. Sad

Thank you, Sunny.

I too think it's very possible that KC will walk. It makes me sad that Caylee may not receive the justice she so deserves...Not only is motive missing from the prosecution's case, but there is really no forensic evidence to link KC directly to the remains site on Suburban. There are no fingerprints, DNA or witnesses linking her to the crime...IMO the state has presented a circumstantial case and if I were a juror, and was aware of ONLY what has been presented in court, I could not, with a clear conscious, find Casey guilty of murder in the 1st degree...lying to LE - yes, guilty, child endangerment - yes, guilty.  I'm still hopeful she'll be held accountable. Whether KC walks, or whether she serves time and is released, she will someday have to answer to a  higher power and her ultimate judgement will come then....

I thought a guilty verdict did not have to be unanimous?  Does it?

I think the State is very methodical in presenting thier case and only brought in what they could prove.  There's a lot of other stuff that could bog down the jury and give the defense room to provide doubt.  Once the defense brings in their witnesses, I'm sure the state will tear them apart and then it will end with the defense looking stupid (because stupid is as stupid does) and the state will win.

Don't fret over what you cannot change.  Justice for Caylee is coming.

I hope so. We all know she is guilty but the law is so precise and they have to meet certain burdens. I just hope it falls under the law.

Guilty verdict must be unanimous.   DP is majority

should be the other way around....imo...

We have had 3 years to absorb all the craziness of this case, but the jury has not.

I'd bet both my kidneys that there's at least ONE juror who lied about not knowing much about the case, and who stated that they "haven't yet made up their mind."  A person would have to be living under a rock to not have heard of this case.  I'm on the other side of the country and I know more about ICA than I do my own brother.  So there's got to be at least one juror...perhaps more, who knows she's guilty and lied to get on the jury, silently harboring rage, with full intent to convict.

Well, at least we can hope so.

As far as I'm concerned, the only place Casey's walking is to the big house.
The state has at least 3 more witnesses, and will wipe the floor with the witnesses presented by the defense.
The state doesn't have to prove a motive, but the motive is clear...bella vita, and hatred of Cindy.
I think all of this is still going to come out.
There's decomp., there's a hair with a death band, and there's the 31 days, duct tape, computer searches, chloroform.
I think there will be a guilty verdict.

Hey..the State isn't done..they still have more witnesses..so we have to see what tomorrow brings.

No worries here..the jury is hanging in..no one has asked to be excused yet..which is a very good thing.

They seem to be paying attention.

But my gut says Casey's own words are what is going to get her the guilty verdict:

1. "Maybe I am just a spiteful bitch."  Who gives their brother that explanation to help finding their missing daughter and get to the bottom of what happened while waiting for the LE to arrive..a person who is unconcerned with finding her daughter and knows exactly what happened.

2. Her lies to LE the minute her mouth opened on the  third 911 call her Mom placed she started lying and to this day has not stopped..which means she has changed her story numerous times..and the jury has heard all the versions of those lies.

3. LE gave her the chance at Universal to admit to an accident..and she never has...until Baez opening statement.  If that statement was true..why didn't Baez plea her out to an accident earlier ?

The 31 missing days will have an impact..no one believes she had her own investigation..and the jury won't either.

All the above and one BIG one I'll add.
Dr. G's testimony!

was thinking the exact same thing..She was terrific...

I wish Blink or someone could get to Wendy Murphy.  She has clearly gone around the bend and I just don't understand.  She has hinted that Caylee may have been taken somewhere(ie Sawgrass apt, and that time she disappeared in the middle of the night) for some neferious(sp) reason.  In other words I think she keeps hinting at some sort of abuse other than at the hand of Casey.  She also insists that Caylee died on the 17th.  She has gone crazy.

Sad

Thank you, Sunny.

star, I really don't see any holes in the State's case....it ain't over and the fat lady ain't sung!!  I think the State had to change course immediately after JB's opening statement. So much of what we know, what we look at as evidence goes to proving there was no Zenaida and that KC is a liar. The state didn't have to go into all that since the defense admitted it right our of the chute. I believe the state is ready for any and all 'witnesses' the defense may call (and that included KC) and some of the state's witnesses will be held for rebuttal if necessary. I really would not like to see CA's mother or brother have to testify..remember they loved Caylee too....and I am sure at some time they loved KC too. And CA is their daughter and sister. I hope Rick and CA's relationship has been repaired...or at least is on the road to being repaired.   I have said all along don't be taken in by Mason's good ole boy, I am old, and his seemingly lack of interest....he seems to have the respect of some of the top echelon of the legal community in Orlando....he didn't get there by what we have seen so far, but we have never really seen him in action. I believe he knows and will not hesitate to use every low down, slimy, trick he can get by with. It has been my firm belief that he and he alone was behind getting Judge Strickland off the case...I don't believe there is anyway they can explain KC's lies and actions enough for any reasonable person to believe anything she or they say. I don't think there is a doctor in the world that can state without a doubt that KC has been sexually abused and that's the reason for her actions...including killing Caylee.  The only logical decision is she is guilty. She and she alone is responsible for killing Caylee and disposing of her body. JMO
