The only way to get life in prison WITHOUT parole is to seek the death penalty. They are given 2 options in the penalty phase...death or life w/out parole.

Otherwise she is found guilty and sentenced to 25 to life and winds up coming up for parole. She doesn't deserve to ever step outside a prison cell again. imo

Someone needs to make a BOZO photosjop with a giant pacifier and a baby bonnet because he sure is a giant whiny baby.

PADILLA: Let`s figure it out this way. What if there`s a situation that the state would like to have a plea? It was mentioned by one of the attorneys there. Let`s get her to plea out to this thing before something that is bugging everybody gets found out. The smart thing for the state to do is put the death penalty back on the table and hope that she pleads out.

thanks trim.....that is an odd statement...but personally I think it mean nothing...just another LPism

I think you're right Sunny.  I think he is just throwing a theory around in his head - and talking out loud.   It would be nice if he would come on NG tonight and explain himself!         I do think the possibility of a daisy chain looks stronger than before, though.

There are just to many coincidences for there not to be some connections IMO Kronk's story never rang of truth to me and it still doesn't...

I'm not against the death penalty, but here in CA it is a huge waste of time, the way I look at it is by the time they figure everything out Scott Peterson and David Westerfield will have died from natural causes, or if luck will have it the guards will turn their backs and someone will stab either one or both to death. I don't know how long it takes in Florida to get it together to finally inject the accused, but something tells me it will take a long, long time if Casey gets on death row. In the long run I would prefer life in prison w/o parole, but I guess we will wait and see how this plays out.

Yep, and ol Richard Allen Davis is still on death row in CA right?

I support the DP in many cases but do think it takes too damn long to come down.

Maybe placing the beyoootch in gen pop will be a more efficient death sentence.

I doubt slore will get the DP ... it is a good bargaining chip though. And good to now the thought is hanging over her fat head.

Hey Co-Chair Capp!  We need to get our stories straight.  How about a quick side-bar?

Regarding the newly reinstated DP charges, lets think about why the State feels compelled at this time to do it.

1)  The State is pushing for a plea.
2)  The State is afraid of exculpatory evidence coming
3)  The State feels they have a very strong case, and want to fry KC
4)  The State wants Baez off of the case.

I am inclined to go with 3 mainly because the evidence has changed since they last had the DP on the table.  They have found the body, they have found additional incriminating evidence at the scene, and they may have forensic evidence of abuse (drugging, etc.).  No jury in the would have convicted for DP without a body and/or cause of death.

I also think that they would take a plea.  This is shaping up to be a long drawn out costly affair.  If they were comfortable with LWOP before, why not plea to it now and save time, effort, and dollars?

I do not agree with LP that there is something coming out that will give the defense an advantage.  Regardless of who phoned whom, the fact remains that all evidence points to the slore.  I believe the State is comforatable with these distractions.

I do believe that the State would not be upset if Baez is thrown off of the case.  I believe they realize the chance of appeal is high with him around.  By forcing him to second chair, the appeal problem is diminished.

Now co-chair, are you mentally ready to assist me in putting the slore to death?

pssst sidebar to my co-chair:   I concur with 3 confidently.  I also agree that the State is not worried about whatever smoke & mirrors the defense is going to throw at the jury wall.   It should be the State's position that regardless who went to those woods AFTER Caylee was murdered months later (forensics will prove at least within a month when that was thru plant & bug life, etc.) the fact remains that skankarella did not report Caylee missing, had a carefree & criminal month of leisure instead of worrying whatsoever where Caylee was, her lies & fabricated stories were premeditated including her computer searches about chloroform, household weapons but most of all her researching information on missing children dating back to March 2008, months in advance of Caylee's murder.  Her cell phone records, pings & online activity will create a compelling time line & factual basis of what occurred between 6/15-7/15.  Those same records will also so that certain individuals (i.e. Keith Williams, Kronk) had no contact with the defendant prior to Caylee's murder or immediately thereafter.   Additionally,  evidence of the murder was in Casey's car trunk even before a body was found & Casey herself tried to cover up why her car smelled of death - note the car & trunk were locked at Amscot & remained that way until her parents had to go get a spare key to access the car, no signs of tampering of the trunk were detected.   The kicker...items from her house & belongings of Caylee's  that no one else outside of family would have ready access to nor would pick to be with Caylee's remains & receipts may show the purchase of a few of those items by Casey (laundry bag for example).  And that is just the short list.

The murder and an obvious cover up after the fact are two different things.   At best the defense making this "pin the tail on the donkey defense" will only bolster that Casey killed Caylee but thru her disclosing where she dumped her at some point which  may have embodied a circle of participants spearheaded by her mother...that would be the daisy chain but has nothing to do with who killed Caylee but moreover who was willing to assist as co-conspirators after the fact.

Im so ready my friend!

Sorry for the long post, but been collecting since last cage and other things that make me go hummmmm.
1. Trimm - you posted this from NG last night:
PADILLA: Let`s figure it out this way. What if there`s a situation that the state would like to have a plea? It was mentioned by one of the attorneys there. Let`s get her to plea out to this thing before something that is bugging everybody gets found out. The smart thing for the state to do is put the death penalty back on the table and hope that she pleads out.

adding to this, as it was on my list to talk about.......later JOHN LUCICH, INVESTIGATOR, AUTHOR OF "CYBER LIES":
But I agree with Leonard. The state`s pushing it because they want him to -- they want her to actually plea so that something else doesn`t come out to actually throw a wrench into the gears here.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0904/13/ng.01.html

-------------->  Now, could the something else be George is the father?  Seriously, what is BUGGING US - what do we feel the Ant's don't want to come out?   Was casey a porn star?  Seriously, only the father being family could be worse, right?

2. Cindy talking about the "air bag" or air mattress in her depo stuck me very odd.  Saying casey often had it in the car, if she thought "work" might go late......so, makes me wonder if they have these in crib size - how small of one can you get?  Could casey have drugged caylee and put her in the back of car on it on a regular basis?

3.  Josh OBarr - not sure I buy it, but if true - might have saved his life to have Caylee to live for.  If true, maybe Caylee has a loving parent in heaven with her.
3a.   Cindy will s$it green if this is true and burn her green sweaters and tops and those shamrock pins to.

4.  Electric chair or lethal injection - maybe I send casey this note (after all georgie asked me to write her - bet he says that on Oprah too).
casey :  sure know you must be having a hard time with all the decisions that face you:  strawberry or blueberry poptarts, frosting or not, red hooo lipstick or school girl pink, lethal injection or electric chair?  Well let me help you with that last one.  One thing you never seem to have experienced, and we all know you tried most of it was to feel.  So, go for the electric chair, might be you last chance to feel anything - oh, sorry and your first.

5. Wouldn't you guys love to see Jeff Aston ask JB,  "You all right?"  after this little change! LOL

6.  Mags - hugs for your ordeal and keep that son safe.  Since they ran, they are probably chickens, but keep that mama eye on him and tell him to be aware to.  The fact that he saw them, worries the mom in me!

Have we figured out what Lenny was saying on NG yet? He was suggesting something along the lines that the jail bugged Jose and Casey, and Kronk's girlfriend working at the jail, I guess the daisy chain thing. I will say one thing that has me bothered and I can't shake the feeling, but Kronk(who I just don't trust) and this Williams guy(can't say I have great feelings on him either) and the discovery of Caylee, something isn't adding up to me, maybe LP is correct with this daisy chain

nrcl....I didn't watch NG last night. Does anyone have a transcript of exactly what he said? I have never trusted Kronk.................something hinky about him and I have said it all along.....I am not sure about this Williams guy....again, hinky.......LP often says things that are pure bullcrap IMO......it is not time for him to start mucking up things with statements just for shock factor.

GRACE: Straight out to Leonard Padilla, bounty hunter, who is set to be under oath in this case. Leonard Padilla, why the about-face now, the state announcing it will seek the death penalty.

LEONARD PADILLA, BOUNTY HUNTER: You`re not going to agree with me, but I`m telling you there`s something there...

GRACE: Just please don`t blame it on Cindy Anthony!

PADILLA: No. No.

GRACE: Can you come up with anything...

PADILLA: No!

GRACE: ... other than that?

PADILLA: I wasn`t even going to mention her name until you brought it up!

GRACE: All right. Go ahead. Go ahead.

I am very skeptical regarding Leonard Padilla's claim implying he is privy to inside information.  Other than what he was told and observed at the Anthony home during Casey's first release ... I contend he is speculating like the rest of us.

LEONARD PADILLA, BOUNTY HUNTER, HELPED GET CASEY ANTHONY OUT OF JAIL: Well, here`s the situation, Nancy. I believe that when the FBI, who`s got one of the finest labs in the world comes back with the DNA it`s going to shock the world over something that Lee, Casey and Cindy have known since Wednesday when they released their preliminary.

New Twist In Casey Anthony Case
Thursday, September 4, 2008
Brother may be tied to case
by Rozzie Franco and Nada Taha, 540 WFLA/FNN

ORLANDO, FLA. --   The latest twist in the Casey Anthony case comes from the man who at one point gave her a “get out of jail free” card and may tie her brother, Lee Anthony, into the saga ...

Padilla said that officials ruled it was Caylee’s hair just by a process of elimination because the hair had a death ring around it and they know Casey is alive. The fact that the DNA is identical has something to do with who the father is, Padilla said.

“Would the DNA from a child resulting from a union from Lee and Casey have basically the same characteristics? Making the preliminary DNA check not definitive as to who the hair samples are from,” he said.

NANCY GRACE
FBI Test Clears Brother Lee Anthony of Caylee Paternity
Aired March 17, 2009 - 20:00:00   ET

NANCY GRACE, HOST: ... DNA lab reports proving brother Lee Anthony tested to determine if he was little Caylee`s biological father received. Authorities conduct paternity tests on tot mom`s own brother, Lee Anthony, to identify who`s Caylee`s father, the tests buried deep in stacks of pages of FBI lab reports.

<snipped>

GRACE: Straight out to Nikki Pierce with WDBO. She`s standing by there at the jailhouse. Nikki, based on the documents I`ve got in my hand -- and this is official state discovery documents -- Lee Anthony, tot mom`s own brother, was actually tested for paternity?

NIKKI PIERCE, WDBO: Nancy, rumors have been flying on the Internet and everywhere else, wondering, could Lee Anthony be Caylee`s father. And apparently, the FBI wondered, as well, because they did a paternity test to make sure.

GRACE: Well, I`ve got to tell you, Nikki Pierce, I`ve been asked that, our viewers ask the question over and over, and I also thought it was a trumped-up discussion, Web sleuths, that meant nothing. But you`re telling me that you are convinced paternity tests were run, DNA tests, to determine whether tot mom`s own brother was the father of her child?

PIERCE: They certainly did run those tests, and it came back a negative. It came back saying that Lee could not be the father of Caylee.

FBI Test Clears Brother Lee Anthony of Caylee Paternity
Aired March 17, 2009 - 20:00:00   ET

Other tidbits in the documents include that Caylee's body was found with a piece of duct tape covering her mouth -- tape that appeared to have been put on the child's mouth intentionally, according to the police report. Forensic analysis of the tape turned up "residue in the perfect shape of a heart," apparently from a sticker that had been placed over the duct tape, the report said. The sticker was found near where the remains were recovered.

However, no fingerprints were found on the duct tape, according to the documents.

Question: how would the hurricane and flooding off Suburban Drive affect the plant evidence? Say, the remains are there in mid- to late Juneand then two months later -- or whenever it was -- they are dislodged by water. Wouldn't the "old" plant evidence be disturbed and new plants begin to grow??? Just wondering.
