So the little twit didn't testify.  I'm really surprised and very disappointed.  So glad the dufense has rested though.  In a matter of days we'll never, ever have to look at, listen to or see Jose Baez again.

As for the ruling on the cans:  I think the judge realized that it's just not necessary.  He knows Casey is guilty, he knows the jury thinks she's guilty...so what's the point in subjecting them to an awful smell?

I can't wait to see the look on Casey's face when they return the GUILTY verdict!

Re: Finger Boy...I haven't seen the video yet of his explanation to the judge, but from the actual footage of him doing it, he could have argued that he was just scratching his face with his middle finger.  It's not like he blatantly extended his arm with that gesture.  But I definitely think he's written letters to Casey and perhaps wanted to do something to say, "Hey, that was me!  You know, the creepy dude who writes to you daily!"  He probably dumps all his earnings into Casey's commissary account...tis why he is broke.

6 days jail - fine $ 400 plus court costs.

Not to mention all the free publicity/advertising this will bring T.G.I.Fridays.

Casey Anthony didn’t testify, her defense team talked about pet burials before resting, and TV analysts were appalled by the overall effect.

“Who would have known eight weeks ago that that opening statement would have been the beginning and end of this trial?” asked attorney Jeff Deen on WESH-Channel 2. “Jose’s opening statement put her with knowledge of the death, actually put her there when it happened. Made accusations they couldn’t back up. They ended the case with no evidence of anything that they promised, and it’s a big deal.”

Attorney Richard Hornsby, who also offers analysis for WESH, said the jury will wonder if Casey Anthony was involved in Casey’s death because Baez admitted it in his opening statement. “The biggest hole is Casey’s failure to testify,” Hornsby said.

Ugh.  How can anyone look at her with such a kind look on their face?

What on earth is being said there?

Casey:  "So, YOU'RE Caylee's father?"

Okay, I totally get what he is saying.  However, isn't viewing pictures and video the same thing.  Does using their vision to inspect evidence make them a witness?  Just saying, everyones experiences are different.  I think the jurors should be able to use all of their senses to make a decision and the decision should be made by them.

If I'm reading it right, the problem is that smelling the cans calls for conjecture on the part of the jury (as opposed to being told the cans contain the scent of decomposition due to the carpet sample).  Not so clear about the making the jury witnesses part. Any legal eagles care to explain the particulars of that part?  TIA
