I think Charlie is a paid for ATA/AHATA fraudulent hack.


I think there is a possibility of finding him in this member list.

Help me pick it apart?

If that is the case what does that say for the credibility of those videos?  Does that mean it's all a trick played on use unsuspecting bloggers? Just wondering out loud.

I was having two separate thoughts

the videos, do not connect in anyway to Charlie, I think.

In fact, that weenie probably couldn't even work a video camera, and from the looks of his tie-dye shirt, that might be all for the better with him.

There are only a handful of membrs listed who have actually posted, is another thing noticed.  Most have '0'.

I see charlierat's name but it says he joined today.

Isn't Rogier what Roger from Scux called himself in the beginning?  

Klaas ... if "Roger" was paid by the ATA/AHATA it would go a long ways in explaining how the Deepak/Skeeter recording came into his possession.  It would also go a long ways to assist in comprehending why this guy had the backing of Julie Renfro as well as many who posting at RU.

BTW ... in the signature list that Roger attached to his open Oprah letter ... Charlierat identifies himself as Charles Ratcliff.

I only know what I have been told. I received the recording directly from the Aruban Police Department. I was told that it is exactly what was provided to the NFI (Netherlands Forensic Institute) and verified as having not been manipulated in any way.

Some people have speculated that I probably got this from a defense attorney or maybe one of the Aruban public relations groups. I did not get a copy from any of those sources. I simply would not have hosted the recording if it had come from anyone other than the proper authority. Receiving this directly from the Aruban Police provided me assurance and confidence that it was exactly what they maintained it to be.

Let me ask you this...if such a phone call existed and there was evidence of "other" voices... not Natalee's and these voices had already been identified and the family knew who they were and the time of the call...would you at the risk of exposing a critical piece of the puzzle admit on national television that all was legit and that call happened?  I don't know.  If I were in that situation I would certainly lie in order to maintain the integrity of the situation if it would in any way bring justice for my child. JMO


BTW where did that phone call story originate?  On RWV? Again?

I'm just reiterating what Beth said at that October 2006 meeting. "NO human vocalization." Possible wind noises, and screech-sounding noises, but NO words. (So possibly Yes a monkey, but also possibly any number of birds, including screech owls ... apparently they never quite nailed what the noise was.)

She reminded that she was a speech therapist and "trained to detect traces of human words" ... and in that setting, she certainly could have just said, "Yes, there was that call, but we've been advised not to comment about it."

Art Wood also chimed in on it. He's the one who talked specifically about the kinds of noises.

I think that initially they hoped that it was from her, and C Croes was interviewed by Greta about it, but then it lead to nowhere.

And it indirectly came up again during that same meeting, when someone asked about the "blue-eyed Dutch boy" ... very emphatic, NO PHONE CALLS TO OR FROM NATALEE during the trip - not even attempted calls that they know of. And I think I do remember hearing Beth say that on TV ...

Of course, I don't know - I'm just sayin' - she sounded pretty sure about it.

Hi Tylergal, nice to see you here...Hope all is well.

Lala's - I agree with you.  I think there is corruption and cover up.  I think in the beginning, it was simple.  But IMO Paulus called in some favors, possibly misleading them, and something simple became too complicated.  If the truth was found out, alot of heads would roll.  Natalee disapeared close to the election, didn't she?  Couldn't have something like this coming out so close to elections.  I think the whole thing snow balled.  When the favors were done, it was too late to turn back and more and more had to be done to cover up.

IMO, Poppa probably called his friends, saying J is in a little trouble, nothing of his doing of course, and I could use a little help, it is nothing really....  And of course he could count on Van der Stratten to do whatever.

I agree........heads are still waiting to roll tho..too many people know too much

Charlie Ratcliff Returns to Aruba

Charlie Ratcliff is a special Aruba visitor. In his own words he explains it the following: Friday, November 17th was my 50th birthday. On this date in 1956, I was born in the Lago Community Hospital in Seroe Colorado. I lived here on Aruba until 1972, when my father retired from Lago. I have not been back to Aruba since then until now.

I wanted to come back many times over but there was always a reason why I couldn’t. Mostly it was because I couldn’t afford the trip. But now things have worked out and I am here to celebrate my birthday on the island of my birth.

I guess I should talk about how much things have changed. To say Aruba is all grown up would be an understatement. The west end of the island is hard to recognize. The last time I was here, the airport terminal was on the south side of the runway and the bridge over Spanish Lagoon that replace the low bridge has just opened. And I miss the banana boats on the Oranjestad waterfront. But I am proud of the progress. The island looks great! And I walked around Oranjestad yesterday (after the rain quit and the water in the streets went down) and I knew exactly where I was; I was home! I can’t tell you how good it is to hear Papiamento being spoken after all these years. I was never fluent in the language but I used to be able to understand it a bit. If it’s true what they say about use it or lose it, well, I lost it. I couldn’t make out a word of it but it was still music to my ears. I recognized stores as I walked down Caya Betico Croes (which was Nassaustraat during my first go-round) and Wilhelminastraat looked very familiar. No doubt about it, I am home.

Yesterday I was lazy and did nothing at all. But today or maybe Tuesday, I’m going to San Nicolas and Seroe Colorado and spend the day. That is going to be a very emotional day for me. I have talked to some friends who tell me that the house I used to live in is still there. And of course Rodgers Beach is still there.

So if you see a middle aged man with a big smile on his face wandering aimlessly around San Nicolas and Seroe Colorado (away from the tourist sites) over the next few days, come say hello, it’s probably me.

I return to the States on Wednesday. I presently live in (of all places) Birmingham, Alabama. But I’ll be back. In the meantime, you can know that Aruba has an outspoken ambassador in Alabama. Until my next trip home, Aruba, dushi tera!

Charlie is seen here with his internet bulletin board friends, at the Waterfront Crabhouse in town where he experienced some Aruban hospitality and deliciously fresh coconut crusted mahi mahi, chased by a to-live-for key lime pie.

Charlie whose internet BB handle is Charlie Rat, is active on ww.visitaruba.com and www.aruba.com answering questions about the island and being helpful in general. His patriotism was sparked, he admits last year when Aruba’s name was smeared in the international media. He was one of the island’s loudest and most-active defenders.

Have fun on your native island! We can’t wait to read your trip report.
