I would be guessing but I would say the photos taken of the body parts and the skull at the site she was found. It could also be include the autopsy photos but I doubt that is the issue since they are automatically included in a trial normally.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's defense continued its quest Wednesday to get evidence in the case excluded from the trial.

The defense wants Judge Belvin Perry to throw out evidence from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

An Oak Ridge researcher, Dr. Arpad Vass, tested the air in Anthony's trunk for traces of decomposition, which he said he detected. The test also found chloroform.

The defense argues the methods Vass used are not widely accepted by the scientific community.

I thought his description of the defense with a sledgehammer and the prosecution with a scalpel was very well taken. It's true; Baez has no finesse, no subtlety.  He barges in with his big sledgehammer and goes to work. Same with the others on the defense team.  They don't seem to be prepared to question their own experts in terms dealing with their field of expertise.  Then Mr. Ashton comes in with his scalpel and makes a very neat incision and removes the problem.  finis.

Honestly ... my high point of the day was Ashton's closing.  Vass's testimony is ONLY THERE to cooberate testimony about a dead body being in KC's trunk ... it's certainly not the only testimony pointing to there being a dead body in KC's trunk.  He of course said it more professionally and succinctly ... but I think the jury will get it.

I don't think they are going to try to frame George.  I think the story will be more or less the way Casey told it--the second version where Caylee was stolen in Blanchard park by Zanny and her sister Samantha and told not to tell or they would kill Caylee. Same old nonsense.  Also that Casey partied for a month on Zanny's written instructions so that no one would know anything was wrong. I think in the penalty phase they will blame George for Casey being the way she is. Lazy, a thief, maybe a hooker, etc. George was her example.  Lazy, stole Cindy's money, womanizer, etc.  Casey was a little female version of George. 

Casey purposely lied about where Zanny lived to protect Caylee, as well as claiming that she worked at Universal for some twisted reason.

None of the above is true, of course.  IMO Casey chloroformed Caylee and then put the duct tape on her face to stop her breathing.  She did it deliberately and purposely so that she could live the irresponsible life she wanted and wouldn't have to answer to Cindy. The part which is so disturbing is that she drove around in her car for several days with her precious little baby rotting away in her trunk.  Not only that, but Casey smelling it.  Unbelievable.

The defense must have an opportunity to "confront" and cross-examine witnesses. The Confrontation Clause relates to the common law rule preventing the admission of hearsay,However, in California v. Green, 399 U.S. 149 (1970), the Supreme Court has held that the hearsay rule is not the same as the Confrontation Clause. Hearsay may, in some circumstances, be admitted though it is not covered by one of the long-recognized exceptions. For example, prior testimony may be admitted if the witness is unavailable.

The right to confront and cross-examine witnesses also applies to physical evidence; the prosecution must present physical evidence to the jury, providing the defense ample opportunity to cross-examine its validity and meaning. Prosecution generally may not refer to evidence without first presenting it.

The Compulsory Process Clause gives any criminal defendant the right to call witnesses in his favor.

A defendant has the right to be represented by the attorney(s) of his choice or may represent himself. However, a court may deny the defendant such a right when it is deemed that the defendant is incompetent to waive the right to counsel.

Originally, the clause was not interpreted as requiring the state to appoint counsel where the defendant could not afford to do so. The Supreme Court began to expand the interpretation of the clause. In Powell v. Alabama, 287 U.S. 45 (1932), in which it held, “in a capital case, where the defendant is unable to employ counsel, and is incapable adequately of making his own defense because of ignorance, feeble mindedness, illiteracy, or the like, it is the duty of the court, whether requested or not, to assign counsel for him.”

I think bozo has his amendments mixed up for this case.

Yesterday the sound was the worst ever. I don't think that the mic's were ever turned on
after they were switched over for Dr Logan. Most of the time the DT was at the podium and

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said that after listening to all the testimony and cross examination, he believes prosecutors now have the edge in convincing Judge Perry to allow the ground-breaking air test evidence, which comes from research scientist Dr. Arpad Vass, from the Oak Ridge Laboratories.

"The prosecutor will show there's no debate in the scientific community that Dr. Vass's methodology and findings are not generally accepted," Sheaffer said.

Sheaffer said the evidence also has a better chance of coming in because it's not the only evidence that Caylee's body was in the trunk. Casey's family and cadaver dogs also indicated that there may have been a body in the trunk.

Also on Wednesday, there was a major concern that the case against Casey could be delayed because the courts are out of money.

However, an emergency loan that was ordered by Governor Rick Scott, will keep them open.

Wednesday's hearing was underway in courtroom 19 D when Judge Perry got the news that an emergency loan was on its way from Tallahassee; $19.5 million to keep the courts running through the end of May.

"I'm very happy to report the people of Florida will have a functioning court system," Perry stated in a news conference.

On Tuesday, Perry warned the courts would have had to shut down for several days in April and possibly two weeks in May, when the most high-profile case in the county's history is expected to start.

"It's tough. But there is light at the end of the tunnel," Perry said.

Judge Perry is expected to make a written ruling sometime later this week or next week.

Casey's trial starts on May 9.

It really would not matter. I can tell you (and I am an expert in swimming suits left in cars) that there is no smell of chlorine after the suit dries if there was any before. I have never smelled it in mine and I have 6-7 kids with wet suits thrown in the floor of mine all summer long. We do use chlorine in our pool and even the big beach towels have no odor of chlorine after drying. It would seem reasonable that anything would have dried in over a month. geeshhhhhhh  BTW, if you can smell chlorine in a swimming pool the PH is off in the pool & the chlorine smell is not chlorine.

One thing which they seem to leave out is when George wanted his tools out of her trunk there was no smell of chlorine.

We've seen many sides of Casey Anthony in court.

She's cried, been angry, and even calm sometimes.

But this entire process, and being locked up for more than two years, is weighing on the young mother accused of killing her daughter.

Anthony has no privacy.

It's a big reason no one but her attorneys visit her at the Orange County Jail.

Reviewing her visitation logs, no one but attorneys or those with legal business have come to visit with the 25-year-old in months.

She's has no phone calls or video visitations from friends or family since August 2008.

"Those are really things that ground us," said Dr. Amanda Janner, a psychologist.

Janner said Anthony is deprived of her personal freedoms, and the longer she's in jail and isolated, the more concerned Janner would be of her mental health.

WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer says the defense is probably spending hours crafting an image for Casey to present to the jury from day one, and it might be a whole, new Casey.

Casey Anthony has looked drawn and disheveled in court, like she did at Wednesday's hearing; she's been in a red v-neck sweater and a pastel turtleneck; she's donned the librarian look, topped off with a tightly wound bun; and she's had matching outfits with her attorney.

Casey's demeanor Thursday seemed as gray and drab as her outfit, but her lawyers bring her clothes to court every day.

"She could've had an off day or it could have been orchestrated, where Mr. Baez was trying to underscore a theme," Sheaffer said. "This is a young woman whose life is hanging in the balance. He could've attempted to subtly influence the judge."

Sheaffer expects the defense is floating different images and that the public could see a reinvented Casey at trial, a young mother, conservative in dress and manner, bereaved, worried.

"You ain't goin' to a party. You ain't goin' to the prom. You are on trial for the first-degree murder of your child," Sheaffer explained.

I see this as another defense tactic....no speedy trial, stall, stall, stall, now Dr's are asked to be allowed, past the due date, for mental evaluation and to possibly testify.   Everyone knows the toll jail takes on a person.....however, I don't think it has really affected Casey at all.  We are now seeing an act.  Up until very recently we have seen the true Casey.  I hope the State can use this to their advantage, like they have with most everything else.  Jmoo

Every movement, every facial gesture is going to be studied by that jury," Sheaffer said.

Sheaffer says the image Casey presents will have to be a consistent one, otherwise the jury might see it as nothing more than an act to portray herself as something she should be, but isn't.

Meanwhile, prosecutors deposed two defense doctors Thursday.

Dr. Jeffrey Danziger, a psychiatrist, was recently listed by the defense, along with another Florida doctor, who specializes in post traumatic stress disorder, to testify about Casey's state of mind.

Prosecutors will tell the judge Friday whether they object to the new witnesses and whether they want their own experts to examine Casey.

Also Friday, Casey and her defense team will be back in court at 9:00am to fight to throw more critical evidence out of the case. That includes the heart sticker found with Caylee's remains and a stain in Casey's trunk. It smells like there’s been a dead body in the damn car,” Cindy Anthony said in a 911 call she made around the time Caylee went missing.

Casey's father, brother, and lead detectives have all testified that there was no mistaking that smell. But Cindy later changed her story.

“There was a bag of pizza for what, twelve days, in the back of the car full of maggots. It stunk so bad. You know how hot its been,” said Cindy after

The defense argues that it was in fact a bag of garbage that caused that smell. Lawyers will ask the judge today to keep reference to the smell out of trial.

A defense motion to exclude evidence about a stain in Casey's trunk will also be a topic at the hearing.

FBI tests found a stain in the shape of a human child on the trunk liner. But the defense calls the stain imaginary and compares it to seeing the Virgin Mary on a piece of toast.

ORLANDO, Fla. Casey Anthony will return the courtroom Friday for another hearing before Judge Belvin Perry.

Friday's hearing will focus specifically on the heart shape sticker that was found on the duct tape over Caylee's mouth.

Defense attorney's said they want that evidence tossed out.

Another piece of evidence the court will consider is a stain in Casey's car trunk. prosecutors believe the stain could prove that Caylee's body was once in Casey's trunk.

I have been fighting with my puter to stay online since 5:45am.  I have been forced to watch In Session and dealing with commercials.

I hope that next time someone messes up, the judge doesn't threaten, he actually does something.  From the judge's own questioning, I think he intends to let some of this in and let the jury decide.  I think they should get to see everything.  From the Cindy first mentioning the smell in the 911 call, everything has shown that Caylee's precious body was without a doubt in the back of that car.

On Wednesday Byazz was babbling about the "dry" trunk and the "drying room" LE placed the garbage bag and contents in, today it's a whole new story, just like Casey, sling the chit and see what sticks.
