562 Flights FOL’s produce 3041 kilos of coke

WILLEMSTAD – During the period of October 2006 and September 2007, 562 flights were carried out from the Forward Operating Locations (FOL’s) on Curaçao and Aruba. The flights have led to the interception of 3041 kilos of cocaine (worth 608,2 million dollars) and 148 kilos of heroine (worth 13 million dollars). FOL’s total on station hours amount to 2217.

This was concluded from the evaluation of the FOL-alliance which was offered to the House of Commons by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxime Verhagen, and to the respective States by the Prime Ministers of the Antilles and Aruba.

The US informs CZMCARIB systematically and in advance about the flights of the so-called ‘host nation riders’ (HNR’s). During the 2006-2007 period, a total of 119 missions were executed whereby HNR’s were needed. These ‘observers’ fly alongside the flights which cross over the boarders of third countries. They represent their government when flying over the sovereign region of a third country and provide their expertise on that region.

The FOL-commander is in direct contact with CZMCARIB and the Consul General of the United States. There’s a close collaboration between the Royal Navy, the local authorities, the FOL-command and the consulate of the US. From all sides the collaboration is experienced as being very constructive, states the evaluation. On the 18th of June of this month, the FOL commander on Curaçao, Lieutenant Colonel Charles Olsen, passed on the command of the 429th squadron to Lieutenant-Colonel Otto Habedank. On the grounds of the FOL-alliance between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United States with regard to collaboration in the field of combating drugs via the sky, the American aircrafts utilize the FOL’s on the airports of Curaçao and of Aruba. The alliance gives authorization for the execution of flights on behalf of surveillance, monitoring and the tracing of drug transports. The alliance from 2000 has a duration of ten years and can be tacitly extended.

I've been wondering if the cut-back in airline service to Aruba has affected drug trafficing. 

I wonder if there has been an interruption in the supply line?  Have street drug prices been rising?

The one service that seems to be on the increase is the private planes that arrive.  I wonder if there will be an increase in security?

Only some of it remains.  The Simian information and the key to the Merian code that we had all worked on is gone.  The pictures of the pond before it was drained are still there, as are pictures of the Lekker restaurant.  The pictures of the drained pond and the drainage pipes are also gone.

Hi Blonde - they are gone, as in no longer on the site.  About a week or more ago, I mentioned it to Rob.  He thought I was talking about something else at first, and then I was more specific about the pond.  I don't think he caught what I was saying because he then responded that I should ask him.  CAP's site has been changed and it worries me.

Just a quick note...

I did not find anything (other than SM links) that suggest the name Aruba is Arawak for 'slit', 'opening', or 'anus'.  I must not have the same dictionary that is available to others.   It must be on a secret thread.  imho

Aruba got its name from oro huba, which is a Spanish phrase meaning there was gold. But since no gold was found by the Spanish people, they thought that the island has no value at all. Some believers claim that the island got its name from oruba, an Indian word which meant well placed. Another possibility is the word ora and oubao which means shell and island respectively.



Everytime they tried to find gold, this nutty ol' b.,

I find San's observation really interesting about Joran's recent admissions in Patrick's

book.

Joran himself made the hub-bub about the shoes... and he did it from the get.

Patrick told him how incredibly stupid that was. Joran knows how stupid it was,

but with Joran's lack of brain, panic, and big mouth... it was probably too late to reel
