I am so glad you clarified that for us.  I was trying my darndest to try and figure out what in the world a golfing ratio was.    If it's going to be 150 miles off the coast you guys should be okay. Even a Cat 3. It should be pass you by 4:30 - 5:00 Friday night.  Think POSITIVE CC  it is going to okay.  I tried to post earlier but the witching hour came and I couldn't get back on in time.

I have been having sympathy bellie pains with our fur-babies.  Feeling much better today.  Hope Irene heads out to sea and not up the coast.

Really they get winds thru some of the canyon areas of 100 mph. One year it picked up our shed in the back yard and it ended up in the neighbors back yard. It had to go up over the 6 foot fence. It was all in one piece just sitting in the middle of their yard. Was freaky

Yep    One time all the power polls along one of the main roads went down for about 2 miles. When hubs was with family in Florida when a hurricane happened he told me it was kind of like a wet Santa Anna.    Of course he was being a smart you know what.

The trembling shook everything in our house, including our house, for well over a minutes. Was unreal.

The news is saying that it was felt all the way up the east coast, including in Manhattan.

No injuries reported yet.

So glad to hear your ok Brandi, watching CNN and it sounds as if it was a good shake.  Being a So. Ca. resident for nearly 60 years I know the feeling and your totally helpless when they hit.  Please be careful as the aftershocks can sometimes be worse than the 1st one.

Thanks, Babs. Not used to earthquakes in this area of the country, if anyone can get used to them.

They say it is the strongest earthquake to hit VA ...it tied a 5.9 earthquake recorded in 1897. Over 100 years ago.

Seemed to go on forever. At least a whole minute.

Local news saying no tsunami warning is being issued.

Was going to take my neighbor shopping, but we decided to wait a few hours to see if there are any aftershocks.

Reports of damage are coming in now, chimneys having fallen, that kind of thing.

...and to top it off, Hurricane Irene is making a bulls eye out of VA now.

What a day!
