Very cool Searching!  It's amazing what they can see now.  Back in "my day" they didn't do anything like that unless you were an at risk pregnancy.  You never had any idea if you were having a boy or a girl until they were born, let alone seeing them grow in the womb!  Amazing!

klaas...we must be around the same age cause that is "back in my day" as well...
no idea what we were having...was a nice surprise..although it is nice to know now so you can buy clothes and decorate their room before they are born..My DIL had a 3 D ultrasound, I think they called it that..and it was extraordinary...We could see the baby's features as clear as day...little pug nose, lovely little lips, all the fingers and toes...it was amazing!

Searching...you are one proud gramma! as you should be...at 20 weeks daughter should have another ultra and they will be able to determine the sex of the baby, if he/she cooperates that is!

Thank you cookie. They told me not to shop to much until she makes it that far but never said that was when they could tell the sex, she has had so many problems already, they just don't know what will happen. I keep saying boy because she already looks as though she swallowed a basketball, but like I said, she is small framed so is showing rather quickly. I have heard about those 3d ultra sounds and hope we get one as that would be awesome.

I'm so excited!!

I've looked for this "lost recipe" for almost 15 years! I found it today!!!    That's what you get for living in the same house for 20 years!     I got something stuck in a drawer and had to take the drawer out, and there it was!! This is a WONDERFUL dish and I'm going to share so if I ever loose it again, you guys can give it back to me!!

Fruit Dessert Salad

Layer 1
1 Box Lemon Jello
1 Box Orange Jello
3 Bananas
1 Lg Can Crushed Pineapple Drained (save juice)
1 Small Can pineapple juice
2 C Hot water
1 ½ C Cold Water
1 pkg. minature marshmallows

Layer 2
2 eggs
5 Tblsp flour
1 C Sugar

Layer 3
2 Pkg Dream Whip
1 8 oz. pkg. Cream Cheese (softened)
1 3 oz. pkg. Cream Cheese (softened)
1 C. milk

Coconut ( for sprinkling on top ) Maraschino Cherries for top (optional)

Step One/Layer One:
Combine jello(s) in large (10x14) casserole and dissolve with water. Pour drained pineapple into it. Slice bananas on top, and top bananas with marshmallows. Refrigerate to set.

Step Two/Layer Two:
Combine pineapple juice from drained pineapple with additional juice to equal 2 cups. Combine juice, sugar, flour and eggs in saucepan and cook over medium heat until thick. Cool and spread over set layer one, (on top of marshmallows).

Step Three/Layer three:
Mix Dream Whip and milk. Add cream cheese and mix with electric mixer until whipped. Spread on top of layer two.

Generously sprinkle shredded coconut as final layer. Place cherries (optional)

* You can make the first layer and finish the dish the following day. Be sure to use a large dish as this makes enough to serve a lot of people! Enjoy!

Here is an example of my 3d US - Glen was about 28 weeks at this point.

((NOTE:  Hope you don't mind but I removed the name, just as I did for Searching's))

It was so cool watching it live - he actually opened and shut his eyes and we could see him breathing!  Since we lost him before birth I treasure seeing it.

So very Sorry for your loss theboyzmom, my daughter told me the other night that she remembers when we lost her brother and that is why she worries so much. My heart goes out to you and I am sending big hugs your way for I know even time does not heal all the pain of loss. My appreciation for sharing such a wonderful yet sorrow filled experience can never be put into words. Just want to tell you, I showed my daughter the picture and she just beamed, the glow on her face was amazing and she really smiled big, for the first time in a few weeks.she wants one of those sonograms now but don't know where to get one.Thank you for sharing.
