Yeah Rob...Natalee's friend who posts here said all the chaperones were male teachers and that they then brought their wives/GF's along. The story will probably turn into a bad situation and being a teacher myself I know how your school district hates negative publicity. I hope no one loses their job over this.

Is there a crack/drug problem on the island?

When I was browsing sites this morning I came across this video about Aruba's underworld.  It appears to be an interview with someone in a San Nicolas crackhouse.  

Aruba is still my favorite vacation spot and hope to be there again next year.  Believe me, I feel much safer walking down a street alone at night in Aruba than I would in some towns in my state.

If this search of the pond and surrounding area does not come up with any evidence or lord forbid a body...I am going to rethink my original thought of her being transported off the island...don't know how they would have done it......but.....possible I'm sure

But how many women do you need to run a full-time brothel? Because I can name 5-6 white American girls missing in the Caribbean area. Add that to women missing that we have never heard about because they are from ohter countries and maybe you have enough? Of course, I am not an expert on the sex slave/brothel industry but it makes sense you would always be "on the move" and could only effectively manage a small group of women?

Again, look at this from a business proposition.  There are suffient numbers of women available for a brothel.  That has never in recorded history been a problem.  

Now if you wanted to run a very exclusive brothel made up of high priced white women, you couldn't cater to the poorer sections of Aruba.  You would want to cater to people on the island have have money.  In other words, the Americans.    I think we would all know about that.

You guys know that I love you, but I think fatique and too much TV is effecting your thinking.

what is infurating me is some ppl want blame evryone except the actual perps. they want to blame the mother of the m.jackson victim, they wanna blame natalees mom, the chaps, the HI, C&C, the blame lies with the perp, no one else. lets all remember that...

Arubagirl said that this part is watched very closely (Navy I think). She said most likely a boat trip would need to depart from the south part of island

I can tell you that when we were there (same week as Natalee's group) I noticed a Dutch coast guard ship just about everywhere we went.  My navy years probably account for this noticing.  It was about the size of a destroyer escort, and it definately had long range surface search radar.

I have to believe they know the normal comings and goings of boats and ships day-to-day there.  For what it's worth.

"My daughter spoke with Natalee right after C&C's closed. My daughter & her friends came across Nat & Joran as all were exiting the club, and all were walking more or less together toward another group of classmates.
Natalee was walking unassisted (not falling down drunk), spoke ok (though not answering in long sentences), and was not touching Joran. My daughter only noticed that Joran was tall, dark-haired, American-looking; he did not speak and she couldn't read his facial expressions. Nat turned down my daughter's invitation to go with her little group. (Ironically, they were about to circle the inside of another club to make sure no others were left behind.)
Nat assured them that she was fine, and said she was going to go back to the hotel "with THEM," pointing to the MBHS group just a few yards ahead. The Kalpoes were nowhere in sight; neither was the car.
Next Alana heard was that Natalee got into a car that many in the group had thought was a taxi. (Those look like regular cars.)
It may be that the Kalpoes pulled up on the street before Natalee reached the next group; Joran may have deliberately stalled her. The group may not have even realized she was behind them, approaching.
But while we hear that she got in the car willingly, we know from her comments that it was not her pre-planned intention. Because of this, I do not believe she knew she would be going anywhere but a fairly short distance down to the hotel. Her plans changed in the blink of an eye, and she was gone.
