Evidence in Assumed Murder of Yale Student Annie Le May Point to Suspect
Sources Tell ABC News That Potential Suspect Has Defensive Wounds, Failed Polygraph

Authorities investigating the murder of Yale graduate student Annie Le have focused their efforts on a suspect who failed a lie detector test, sources told ABC News.

That suspect has what appear to be defensive wounds, a key piece of circumstantial evidence. In addition, the suspect, who authorities believe knew Le, failed a lie detector test, sources told ABC News. Sources also told ABC News that bloody clothing removed from the lab belonged to the likely killer.

Investigators have been looking at everyone from Yale maintenance people to people who worked in the lab and fellow students.

Police shoot down report about polygraph
BY THE YALE DAILY NEWS

The past few days have seen a number of incorrect rumors about Annie Le MED '13, including that a professor was the prime suspect in her disappearance (reported Friday), that her body had been recovered (reported Saturday) and that she was buried somewhere in a landfill in Hartford (reported Sunday).

Today brought another such report: The New York Post and the New York Daily News suggested in their stories that a student may have failed a polygraph regarding Le's disappearance — a report that police officials quickly shot down.

“It’s absolutely not true,” New Haven Police Department Assistant Chief Stephanie Redding said by telephone late last night.

Candlelight vigil at Yale tonight
Updated: Monday, 14 Sep 2009, 12:52 PM EDT
Published : Monday, 14 Sep 2009, 12:52 PM EDT

New Haven (WTNH) - The body believed to be the missing Yale graduate student was discovered over the weekend on the campus and now the Yale community is coming together, honoring their classmate with a candlelight vigil.

The vigil for Annie Le is planned for 8pm on the Cross Campus.

"It hits home, someone was killed inside a Yale classroom building," said Thomas Kaplan, Yale Daily News.

Kaplan is editor-in-chief of the campus publication. He says emotions are running high.

"How did this woman go into a busy building in the middle of the day and literally vanish? I think now that they've found a body the confusion has turned to fear," he said.

Early this morning fellow grad students placed candles and flowers outside Annie Le's lab building. The last place authorities say she was seen alive.

Hearing rumors that whoever the suspect is or was has lawyered up, but who knows.....Saturday they had a body and then they didn't and then they found one on Sunday. Maybe they are waiting until the autopsy results are released, IDK

I'm not sure.  Is it erroneous reporting, or is it the investigators not wanting info released?

If it is true that they know who was in the basement with her, then I would think they have a suspect.

Annie Le Lab Building Shuts Down

by Paul Bass | September 14, 2009 10:57 AM |

Paul Bass Photos

(Updated 1:20 p.m.) Yale gave the day off Monday to hundreds of staffers at the lab building where presumed remains of a 24 year-old pharmacology grad student were found. Across the street, a 24-hour media encampment set up — and the Hill neighborhood’s oldest bread-baking family hoped for a resolution.
