NORTHERN ROSE, thank you for the article. The more the government says we shouldn't do something, the more I want to do it, even if it is bad for me. We haven't been drinking soda (cold drinks to us southerners) here in a long time. Not even diet drinks. But this makes me want to go out and buy a case of everything on the shelf. It is one more tax we don't need, and none of O's business if I want to drink one.

Glen Beck had a really good show on FoxNews yesterday with small business owners. They are all about to go under unless they get some relief from all the taxes, regulations, and this new healthcare package. They are about to be choked off, and it will only be big businesses owned by the government. JMO

Sept. 8 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama said he is willing to consider taxing soda and other sugary drinks as Congress debates overhauling the U.S. health-care system.
“I actually think it’s an idea that we should be exploring,” Obama said in an interview with Men’s Health magazine that goes on sale next week. “There’s no doubt that our kids drink way too much soda.”

Of course, we could always just invest some money in teaching parents how to parent their children. You know, simple things like:
Take the damn soda machines out of the schools!
don't buy pop at the store except for Friday night movie night at home.
do not buy PS3's. X boxes, etc. Rent them on the weekend, after a long day of play and work.

Just a few simple things that could be done. But that would be too easy. I mean, we can't just out and out say "Hey, you're doing a crappy job of parenting your kids!" now can we? (hint: I can and do!)

I wonder if the tax would only be on the "sugary sodas" but not the diet ones. How the heck would that work? The diet ones usually have a lot of sodium in them. Will they want to ban those too?

I know you did. And probably they will not find a thing wrong with your returns. It is just another stall tactic. I'd tell him I want him to cut me a check on the spot when he finishes.  Azzwipes!!!!    They'll probably make you wait 6-8 weeks or more to send it. Hopefully, it won't be an IOU. 

I have just had it.Everyday it is something.

No,I came back in and came upstairs to print out my medical chit for taxes.The printer jammed.....Fanny would be proud.I was screaming to high heaven and had the windows up so I sure the neighbors probably think I have killed someone.

That's a good question and I'm wondering what's in the water now. Stress has caused stomach problems since yesterday, so I took an Imodium with water, because that is what it says to do, and I vomited  I'm sticking with Pepto Bismol    Screaming is good, crying is good, also throwing stuff away that is just laying around cluttering in a garage is also good. I don't even have a printer, because all three printers we had my daughter broke, everything she touches seems to break.
