San could do him in in a NY minute verbally. She would not have to lift a weapon.
LOL.
I wish I could go to RU,  do a post, forgetting that I have been going to Church latety, and run for cover.

Red - good one, lol

Come on JVDS ... enter the Monkey Cage ... I dare ya!

I will set up an interview with you, Jossy and myself. You can even bring Joey T. Let's see what stunts you pull.

That little Fidel Castro hat would have been knocked right off his head.

It is amazing that every one else acted civilly; except Joran Van der Sloot who thought he was on Jerry Springer. Shows about how much class he truly has.

He's not man enough to face us.

He sneaks around thinking we don't know. We do know squirt.

katgram, even the cats and dogs curled nearby wanted to sleep in today, one of whom had never even seen a dusting of snow.  With the border collie close to the bed on the needlepoint rug replete with roses and monkeys, one cat on one pillow and the other with its tail squarely in my face, DH wakened us to look at the winter wonderland, snow covering the vehicles that slowly, almost to a dead creep, rode past taking in the Norman Rockwell look of a sleepy neighborhood in an empty-nester community where the hungry birds anxiously pecked around the holly bushes looking for the red berries glowing in the snow and their little ones pushing along the low lying areas of the curbs looking for any unfrozen water for hydrating their cold little bodies, the picturesque quietness was interrupted by the smell of coffee blasting forth, calling like a dinner bell from the countryside.

Klaas asked if snow is uncommon in Birmingham.  It is almost unheard of but today was an unusual day and the power and gas bills which follow will make it even more unusual.  What is not known by many, is that our houses are not built for enduring long, cold winters and thus our heating bills can spiral out of control in times like these.

But, Katgram, after hearing about your 40-below temperature, I will happily pay my bills knowing that the view was worth the bill and that in a few days, forsythia will be blooming while daffodils light the cooler but less cold days of winter, the bellwether of yet another wonderful spring.

There are very few snows here and the last I recall as lasting long enough to warrant slowed traffic and out-of-work employees, was about 6 years ago.  It occurred more frequently in the late 1970s which also were preceded by summers of drought and little rainfall and by 1979, Jimmy Carter was predicting we were entering the ice age.  Now, they say we are entering global warming.  My experience is not as long and vast as others, but I say, we are having cyclical weather changes.

Jug treats his 2 children as if they are the most important, special people in the entire world, because to Jug they are, without a doubt. He treated Natalee and treats Matt the same way. Ask Matt about Jug and without hesitation Matt will tell you he respects, admires, and well he never says he loves anyone but his actions show that he loves Jug. Of course he is definitely a Daddy's (Dave's) boy but he has a lot of love to give:)They have absolutely nothing in their lifetime with Jug to give even an ounce, or a sliver, of credibility to this trash. They knew Natalee, were a part of Jug's life with Natalee, Matt, and Beth and they know there was no such crap even thought about. And they know Beth and her family well enough to know that IF it were true, they would have heard it from them, not from a bunch of refugee fo**ers and island idiots. BETH'S FAMILY CATEGORICALLY STATES THAT THERE IS NO TRUTH TO THAT RUMOR, FEEL LIKE JUG, AND HIS TWO KIDS ARE PART OF THEIR FAMILY, AND ARE PROUD TO CLAIM JUG, EVEN IF HE AND BETH HAVE SEPARATED. JUG IS A GOOD MAN, PERIOD, AS FAR AS THEY ARE CONCERNED. AND I GOT THAT FROM BETH AND HER MOM DIRECTLY, EMPHATICALLY.

JUGS 2 CHILDREN HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE PROUD OF JUG, AND THEY ARE, AND THEY SHOULD BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND JUG IS UNDENIABLY PROUD OF THEM. BETH'S FAMILY THINKS THE WORLD OF JUG'S CHILDREN AS WELL.

I am proud of him and I ain't even in his pond.

I would love to have Joran tangle with the likes of  Klaas, Anna, Janet, Kermit, et al, any day. It does not even have to be Red.

I'm no Dr. Phil. But when it come to dealing with people like Joran or Deepak and various other species --- I know my stuff.

Hi Kermit.

I also agree.

Justice for Natalee Holloway has never been a consideration in the so-called Aruban investigation.  The protection of the tourist dollars has has been where it is at ... the tourist dollars which are behind the underground economy of Aruba ... the tourist dollar that supports the drug trade ... prostitution ... gambling ... money laundering ...

Briesen: Among all challenges we’ve faced, including airlift, US economy slowdown, gas prices etc, this particularly has taken up our time and resources. Everybody got involved in this case. People from the tourism department have been moved to the justice department to help solve the disappearance. This incident has kept us ‘hostage’ for more than a year. In 2006, we even launched an ad campaign worth $5 M in the US to counter the negative broadcast. On the other side of the coin, more people now know about Aruba. But I would not want Aruba to be known in the same way Iraq is known. One reason why we think it has been a hard blow to us.We are the safest island in the entire western hemisphere. Things like this don’t happen in Aruba.

And it would seem that the tourist dollars will support this ad campaign to the tune of $5 million dollars by the TOURISTS PAYING MORE FOR A ROOM!

Buyer beware!

XIII. Stay the Course

Update: Sat 19-Jan 1745 hrs
The Persistence left the dock at 1530 hrs heading back towards the deepest portion of the survey area. The weather has been continually rough and does not look like it will let up this evening or through tonight. Fortunately, we took on fresh water this morning which acts like additional ballast for the boat, reducing some of the roll. While in about 750-800ft of water we came across another unknown wreck. This wreck (perhaps an old schooner) is about 50-55ft long.

Briesen hob-nobing with Judges from the U.S.

Briesen and his wife

LOOK WHO IS INVOLVED IN THE CHA MARKETPLACE

AND BRIESEN IS INVOLVED WITH THE CHA MARKETPLACE too

Our island will benefit immensely from the Marketplace, not only in promotion and exposure in countries around the world, but also from the revenues from this event, which will be 10 times as much as the amount invested to host the CHA Marketplace. That’s only taking into account the money that will be spent by the participants during their stay here, Aruba will see even more tourism dollars once the Marketplace is over and our island’s beauty is put in the international spotlight.

Should have posted - that woman on the left with the glasses is:
Managing Director of the Aruba Tourism Authority Myrna Jansen

If memory serves me - she also was involved in those meeting with Beth to make it appear they were helping her.

I may be the contrarian here, but knowing this is all bullshit and that two people are trying to get some attention at the expense of another family, I wish we would have ignored the latest sickening ploy coming from Aruba and left it to the refugees where it belongs, where all the trash belongs.
I just keep thinking that Jug has two children from his first marriage who are also affected by this bullshit. If I had to read that my father was accused of sexually assaulting my stepsister, I don't care who was doing the accusing, it would deeply affect me. There are 4 innocents in this mess. One, our beautiful Natalee lost her life as a result. Lets just be conscuois of the fact that there are still 3 other children of Jug and Beth that need to be protected from Aruba's slime.
This upsets me so much it is hard to even put it into words. Hope you all understand what I am trying to say. I just think by posting the story on the front page, we are giving more power to the ugly words and accusations these slimeballs are selling. Not that they are being believed, but that the more people who read them, the more people who are affected by them who would not be if they had stayed in the refugee trash section.

I understand and I agree completely. Good post, Lou.
