Edward,

I copied your post above in the Adji thread, I hope you don't mind.  I thought it might have some relevance with that case as well.

Investigating an 8 year old running away is absurd behavior by professionals.. jmho

Dad is from Mexico ..
He knows that she could have been taken by an Mexican alien and is now being held in Mexico.

But if that did not happen and a American perv got her and murdered her "I hope not" But if it happened, he could slip her body into the California Aqueduct.. This is a man made river that runs from Sacramento to Los Angeles..
The under currant runs above 30 mph and many bodies have been lost in it over the years. Anyways the only reason I mention this is that the California Aqueduct is located close to Tracy. It has many out of sight locations that a person could access by car do such a thing and not be seen. I have fished in it many times, you do not want to fall into this waterway.

today's activities boat/water search...no divers planned, on the Old River on the delta from 10-3; not because of leads...covering bases. Would this flow into the Aqueduct?

Police Eye Oakdale Property in Search for Sandra

FOX40 News
April 2, 2009
TRACY  - As the search for Sandra Cantu continued for a sixth night, family and friends gathered for another prayer vigil on Wednesday, refusing to give up hope that Sandra will come home.  Meantime, Tracy investigators are working around the clock to find the missing 8-year-old, who disappeared from the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park on Friday, March 27th.  Since then, volunteers and officials from the FBI and officers from area agencies have been searching cars, homes and going door to door in search of clues.

On Thursday, April 1st, police expanded their search to the Tracy landfill as well as a home in Oakdale.  Authorities tell us the home belongs to a relative of Chris Sinclair, a resident of the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park who has been identified as a person of interest in the case.  FOX40 spoke with Sinclair, who says he's not sure why he's under investigation.  Sinclair said he returned home earlier this week, and both of his cars were gone.  He says police asked if he knew anything about Sandra's disappearance.  Martial arts instructor, Frank Wohler, is another person of interest who has  been questioned by police.  He lives a few houses down from Sandra and peaked the interest of investigators when they learned he kissed Sanda on the lips at the community pool two years ago.  Wohler says he was just being friendly and nice.  "It's kinda my nature and I haven't talked to her since.  I've seen her in the park, but that's it," Wohler said.

In addition to the search in Oakdale, officers have impounded three cars as part of the investigation. The cars are being examined by a team of investigators from the Tracy Police Department and the FBI.  Investigators say they're still sifting through the more than 500 tips they've received since Sandra's disappearance.  One of those tips was from a family acquaintance, alleging Sandra's father, Daniel Cantu, may have kidnapped his daughter and taken her to Mexico.  In an interview with FOX40, Daniel Cantu denied the allegations.  He said the reason he went back to Mexico earlier this week is because, "I needed to get back for my job."  Cantu says he returned to Tracy on Tuesday and has been in constant contact with investigators.  Cantu admits he wishes he saw more of his daughter, but said there has never been an issue over custody.

Police search Old River for clues
Written by Jennifer Wadsworth and Justin Lafferty
Thursday, 02 April 2009

A police spokesman said today a boat is searching Old River north of Tracy as investigators check out nearly 600 leads.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lt. Jeremy Watney addressed the press this morning. Glenn Moore/Tracy PressInvestigators will search Old River this afternoon in search of clues that would help them find an 8-year-old Tracy girl missing now for nearly six full days.

Meanwhile, Tracy police and volunteers will continue digging through the trash of everyone in the city through the weekend, and keep pursuing every one of the 569 leads that have come in since little Sandra Cantu went missing on Friday afternoon from her home in Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park.

Investigators refuse to say what sort of evidence they’ve found so far, but police said that what was found has helped narrow down the case.

“From videotapes to psychics, there is no single lead that is ignored until it is investigated,” said Tracy police Lt. Jeremy Watney today at a morning press conference.

Some of those leads have prompted police to re-interview some people at the mobile home park, Watney said, and to perform lie detector tests on “more than one” person.

Police refused to disclose who those people are and have yet to name any suspects, “persons of interest” or any names associated with several search warrants served on two men in the mobile home park. Watney further refused to say whether Sandra’s estranged father Daniel Cantu, 37, was one of those people.

Police asked Cantu to come to the station today for further questioning, after the Mexico resident came voluntarily on Wednesday and talked with police for a couple hours.

Whether the father will take a lie detector test is proprietary for now, Watney said. Cantu was arrested several times in the late 1990s through 2001 on various drug charges, records show. He was also charged more than a decade ago with civil harassment.

Watney did say that police searched a property in Oakdale on Wednesday, the second search in the Stanislaus County town since Tuesday. He refused to say whether the second search was of the same home.

Though police have yet to name any suspects, two men’s names have come up this week — one is 49-year-old Christian Sinclair who was arrested on Monday on suspicion of interfering with police as they searched his mobile home. The other is 61-year-old Frank Wohler, an eighth-degree black belt martial arts instructor who admitted that he kissed Sandra on the lips two years ago.

Sandra Cantu, 8.Police said today that they have yet to look up the report filed by Sandra’s family about the incident.

Officers and agents got search warrants and combed through Wohler’s martial arts studio on Monday, taking DVDs with pictures and his cell phone, he said. They also searched his mobile home near Sandra’s, though he declined to say what was taken there. Police said Wednesday four cars have been towed as evidence from the mobile home park.

Sinclair has had other run-ins with the law, court records show, including a charge of being intoxicated in public and restraining orders from his parents and a woman who lived near him.

Criminal records show that in February 2003, Rebecca Crowther, who lived in Orchard Estates, served Sinclair with a restraining order. In a form, Crowther wrote that on Jan. 6, 2003, Sinclair grabbed the back of her neck and slammed it against a car’s windshield. She said that he pounded her head into the steering wheel until she lost consciousness.

Crowther wrote that then “he is always abusive verbally and emotionally.” Later that month, Sinclair threatened her with a gun and called her derogatory names, she charged.

Volunteers rake garbage in a hunt for clues on Wednesday. Glenn Moore/Tracy PressChristian Sinclair was also served a restraining order by his parents, Sammie and Conrad Sinclair, who also lived at Orchard Estates. According to a form that Sammie Sinclair filled out, on Feb. 17 of 2004, Christian forced himself into her mobile home.

Sammie wrote that she was worried that she would be evicted because of her son’s behavior, that he was an alcoholic and drug user, that he had broken many rules at the park, and that he shouted obscenities at her.

Records show that he has also gone by the names of Christian P. Sinclair and Brandon C. Sinclair.

The reward from Tracy Crimestoppers and from the Carole Sund/Carrington Memorial Reward Foundation still for information leading to the girl’s whereabouts has been upped from $7,000 earlier this week to at least $9,000 thanks to donations from the public.

Sacramento bounty hunter Leonard Padilla has offered $10,000 for her safe return of Sandra by midnight Sunday, “no questions asked.”

Tracy Crimestoppers and the nonprofit Carole Sund/Carrington Memorial Reward Foundation still seek donations and local volunteers have stationed themselves outside some stores around Tracy to collect reward money from shoppers.

Police today released home videos of Sandra from birthdays and holidays. The footage will play on public access TV channel 26 and on news stations. Police plan to keep private the surveillance footage from the mobile park that recorded Sandra walking past her family’s home around 4 p.m. Friday.

Local police and the slew of other agencies involved in the search will try to come up with ways those volunteers can help over the coming weekend, because they expect that with the work week over, hundreds will turn out. Watney said they can help distribute the missing-persons poster and probably comb the city again like they did last weekend.

Though nearly a week has passed since the Jacobson Elementary School second-grader was seen, Watney said he has reason to believe the search is nearing to some conclusion and remains optimistic.

“Are people getting tired? Yes. Are people getting frustrated? Yes,” Watney told reporters at City Hall this morning. “But everybody is hoping for the best until proven otherwise.”

• Anyone with information is encouraged to call Tracy Crimestoppers at 831-6847. Padilla can be reached at www.leonardpadilla.net.

Remember the Old Movie Harold & Maude. Harold was obsessed with Death so he took his Car and turned into a Hearse ..... hmmm. Yah.

Saturday volunteers sought for flier duty
Written by Press staff
Thursday, 02 April 2009

The fire department is looking for volunteers to hand out fliers Saturday in the effort to find missing 8-year-old Sandra Cantu.

Tracy’s Community Emergency Response Team is looking for more volunteers Saturday to hand out fliers out in the effort to find missing 8-year-old Sandra Cantu.

The group is looking for civilian volunteers to pass out fliers from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the old Linne Road Fire Station, 7700 Linne Road. Right now, the trained volunteers are based at the fire administration building at Ninth Street and Central Avenue.

“There’ll be a place for people to come out and get fliers, that’s what we’re mostly doing for volunteers right now,” said Ken Silligman, the team’s leader and chief volunteer.

Silligman said that since Saturday, nearly 10,000 fliers have been printed, all of which were donated by local businesses, and the organization will send about 1,500 fliers to Manteca to be passed out at the Crossroads Street Faire.

For information: Tracy Fire Department, 831-6700.

Correct me if I am wrong  = Is it not By Law that a Sex Offender can not live near a public school? Because on this Watch Dog site with this Map of Tracy Ca. You can click on any of the Dots and another window opens with the Perps face and info.
http://www.familywatchdog.us/ShowMap.asp?frm=0
The X ( white with and X boxes) are Schools & Parks. Seems that there is no boundaries set between these perps and public schools. You click on the White boxes and it shows the distance of these people from the school ...  One is .13 miles - 1000 Feet from the School
for another example - I clicked on this
Willow Community Day School
address:
2626 Tracy Blvd.
Tracy, CA 95376
closest offender    0.19 miles
offenders within 1000 ft    1

GARCIA, JOSE MANUEL
2336 BESSIE AVE
TRACY, CA 95376
distance: 1006 feet
convictions:

Wow that is something that a Hello Kitty shirt was found. Is it for sure that she was wearing a Hello Kitty shirt? I mean was that what she wore to school that day? Or did she change clothing when she got home from school ? It must be on the video I would guess unless they can only see walking from the camera and not into it.
She has been missing for awhile and they said on the News on CNN today that LE has been going through all the garbage at the Transfer station - for all intense purposes.

Who would throw out a Hello Kitty shirt knowing that was what Sandra had on - and Is a Missing child " All over the News" in that area. Seems strange. I know that Hello Kitty is Common but come on .. its not that common. Lets not see another Winnie the Pooh blanket theory as they did with Caylee... Oh every kid on the planet has a Winnie the Pooh blanket.

TRACY, Calif. -- Volunteers going through trash Thursday found a Hello Kitty T-shirt, Tracy police said. But Sandra Cantu's mother said the shirt isn't her daughter's.

Meanwhile, the reward for information on the 8-year-old's whereabouts increased to $22,125.

Cantu was last seen six days ago inside Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park, just off West Clover Road. She is 4 feet tall, 45 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Cantu was wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings.

Thursday's search focused on Old River and trash at a transfer station on MacArthur Drive. Lt. Jeremy Watney said a California Highway Patrol helicopter would help in the search on Friday by surveying open areas north of Tracy.
Police have received 632 tips in the case, Watney said.

"We're still searching for anything. We hope to find her alive," Watney said.
After Thursday afternoon's media update, police showed home videos of Sandra Cantu celebrating Christmas.

The girl's father, Daniel Cantu, was interviewed in Tracy by police Thursday. He said he took a polygraph test. Cantu, who lives in Mexico, was also interviewed Wednesday by police.
Police have searched four mobile homes in the park, another address in Tracy and property in Oakdale. Four cars have also been impounded
Two people named in earlier search warrants are not considered "persons of interest" or suspects, Watney said during a news conference on Thursday morning.

He also said no search warrants were expected to be executed on Thursday.

The spokesman defended police efforts to notify the public about the girl's disappearance. He said a helicopter and search dogs were called in on the day she was reported missing. He also said police faxed out a press release about the case shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.
