In Deepak's statement (the one with more details) he says his brother drove to CnCs.  He sat in the passenger seat & Joran in the backseat.

Yes, because the cameras at McDonald which were not working, but Paulus thought they were is where he said he "picked them up at 4 a.m."  Then when he finds out the cameras were not working, he denies that time and gets a new plan.  The ATM is very near McDonalds as one of the Arubans posted the picture here so he was there at 4 a.m. and the reason he made the statement, only to retract it when he found no cameras worked.
