Human remains found near airport in Big Spring
By Greg Kendall-Ball
March 20, 2012

 ::snipping2::
Detective Sgt. Tony Everett, department spokesman, said the remains appeared to have there "for a long period of time," and neither the age or the gender of the deceased could be determined. No official would speak on the record as to what constituted a "long period of time."
 ::snipping2::

Five people who are missing were last seen in Big Spring, according to the Texas Department of Safety database. Foul play is possible in two of the cases, according to the DPS website.

Those five cases range in dates from 1979 to 2003.

No connection to the missing Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn has been made by law enforcement officials.

Prayers for all concerned, from the 2 people who found the body, to the detectives, FBI, and anyone else working to find who this is, to the family and loved ones of the deceased, to the family of Hailey and others who are missing in the area, and of course the deceased him/herself.  This is someone's loved one.

I hope that 'if' Hailey is dead, which I believe she is, that this body is her's and that her mother and her boy toy are arrested and justice will be done for Hailey. She did not deserve any of this! Bless her heart..

Hailey Dunn Missing: Human Remains Found Near Home of Mother of Shawn Adkins … Persons of Interest & Ex-Boyfriend of Billie Dunn

http://scaredmonkeys.com/2012/03/21/hailey-dunn-missing-human-remains-found-near-home-of-mother-of-shawn-adkins-persons-of-interest-ex-boyfriend-of-billie-dunn/

Could the remains found in a pasture 40 miles from Colorado City, Texas be that of missing teen Hailey Dunn?

Human remains have been discovered in a field near the McMahon Wrinkle Airpark. The airpark is approximately one mile away from the home of the mother of Shawn Adkins, Hailey Dunn’s mother’s boyfriend at the time of her disappearance. There has been no official positive ID made yet.  Shawn Adkins has been the only one named person of interest in the Haily Dunn missing persons case. Adkins was the last person to see the 13 year old cheerleader Hailey Dun on December 27, 2010, the date she went missing. Adkins was the live in boyfriend of Hailey’s mother, Billie Dunn. The two have since seperated following the disappearance of Dailey Dunn.

We have always questioned from the outset the fact that the boyfriend was the last to see Hailey Dunn. Now her remains could possibly be located less than a mile away from his mother's home in a field? How sad.

Source: Big Spring Remains Likely Hailey Dunn's
By: Nick Ochsner
March 21, 2012

 ::snipping2::
On Tuesday, workers at the Big Spring airport discovered human remains laying in an open field. The man who found the remains declined to speak on camera but did tell reporters he thought the remains belonged to a child.

A source tells KAMC the remains were found inside a trash bag.

Although no official connection has been made between the remains and Hailey Dunn, the DPS Ranger in charge of investigating Dunn's disappearance was called to the scene at the airport.

Sources tell us the remains are likely Hailey Dunn's.

On Tuesday, KAMC called Hailey Dunn's mom, Billie Dunn, but got her boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, instead.

Adkins is the only named suspect in Dunn's disappearance.

When we told him about Tuesday's discover, Adkins acted surprised and only said he did not have a comment.

Reminder - Shawn Adkins mom lives in Big Springs:

 ::snipping2::

Investigators said that Adkins has given contradictory statements about the day Hailey disappeared.

Adkins also told investigators that he was fired from his job the day Hailey disappeared.  Adkins worked for a company that does oil well casing and logging.  His boss, however, told investigators that he wasn't fired, but abruptly left work minutes after showing up, according to the affidavit.

Adkins told investigators that he drove straight to his mother's home in Big Spring, Texas.  Cellphone records show Adkins making calls from Dunn's home between 6:35 a.m. until 6:56 a.m., the court papers state.

I guess the person who wrote the above article stating that the two have separated just doesn't know the "love" between a killer and his accomplice (allegedly)!  If those two were turned loose in the street and told to run and let the nice, hard working folks who spent their time looking for Hailey, give these two what they need I think the whole world would turn their heads the other way!  I'm sorry Texas may have to spend money to house these freaks until......      All MOO!  One mile from his Mom's home?  Didn't they search in all areas from that home?  That is awfully close and if her, wouldn't a trash bag be more noticeable?

Evidence Response Team Arrives in Big Spring 3/21/12

UPDATE 9:11 AM: BigCountryHomePage.com is reporting that one of the men who first discovered the body says that although the body was decomposed the remains of a hand appeared to belong to a child.

UPDATE 9:07 AM: We are hearing multiple reports that the body found in the Desert Tanks area of Big Spring has been identified as a girl. This has not been confirmed by officials.

We are also told that at the time of Hailey Dunn's disappearance the land Desert Tanks owns was owned by a company called American Limestone.

American Limestone is said to have not kept their gates locked and often left them open. Because the area was gated, investigators are said to have never searched the area after Dunn's disappearance.

Grace-land thank you cause you answered my question about why the bag wasn't found during the searches near pervs Mom's home!  I bet investigators aren't feeling too good 'bout that!  How do you not search an area for a child that close when they knew he was pinging Mom's for most of that morn and day!  They should have known he could drive/walk one mile in any direction from Momma's to dispose of any evidence/body, gate or no gate!

According to Reporter-News staffer Greg Kendall-Ball on the scene, word is that the area was not search previously for Dunn.

A helicopter arrived this morning and according to Kendall-Ball, appeared to be bringing in FBI agents.
