Read over yonder that Chad & Crystal live about 15 min. from this area of location. 

Also there was a man that went missing in 2002 and had never been found, from that area.  Name was Terry Raulerson.

I wonder how long it takes to determine if this would be her or not?  I know nothing about forensics but don't they sometimes identify skeletons first from the teeth?

I dont know but would they have said right off if the skeleton was a childs?   unless it was like skattered around I think they could tell that just at a glance!

I guess they feel best to not say anything, until they have more positive info.  7 years is a long time for skeleton remains....I am sure there are animals in those areas.  These were found nearby hunting club.

Hunters Find Skeleton In Nassau County

The Nassau County Sheriff's Office said two hunters found a human skeleton Friday while walking in a wooded area off county Road 119.

The remains were found in the Deep Creek Hunt Club.

The sheriff and medical examiner asked a forensic anthropologist from Florid Gulf Coast University to try and identify the remains and determine how the person died.


This sounds like a very old skeleton to me, I dont know but isnt that what anthropologist are for?

Feeling really angry today, reading about all of these missing kids.  Who do people think they are, harming and stealing children?  The courts need to start handing out the most severe punishment imaginable for these crimes.

Your right Sieko, they should start a new Law that anyone that harms a child will automatically get the death penalty, and then actually give it to them, dont let them sit in prison for 15 years on death roll, then maybe it would cut some of these crimes against children out......................make a beleiver out of these right now!

Skeleton found at park belongs to missing man, 88, police say

HOLLYWOOD - A skeleton found in a wooded area of John U. Lloyd State Park belonged to a man who went missing in the park last summer, police said Thursday.

Edward J. Corey Jr., 88, of Miami, was last seen Aug. 17, when he went to the park for a Masonic Lodge barbecue. Corey never showed up, and his family reported him missing, police said.

A park ranger came upon the remains Wednesday morning while clearing brush as part of a project to remove non-native plants from the park.

Investigators found Corey's wallet near the bones and used dental records to confirm that the remains were his.



There were no signs of foul play in Corey's death, said Police Lt. Manny Marino.

Family members told police Corey had been in the early stages of dementia.

Well that is a relief that it is not Haleigh!  I so hope for a miracle and she is found alive, wouldn't that be wonderful?  I know the odds are stacked against this but you never know.

On the other hand, if something bad has happened to her, I hope the person who harmed her gets death. :smt013

I honestly think that Misty was so wiped out from partying for 3 days straight and a total lack of sleep that she passed out cold and the person who did this knew it and that Ron wouldn't be home and seized the opportunity and probably was confident enough in this knowledge that he turned the light on in the kitchen to see and even propped the door open so it would be easy to carry her out without even worrying about getting caught.  Also, if Haleigh woke up, maybe she knew this person (one of Misty and Ron's drug buddies?) and the person didn't scare her because she "knew" him.  Then the person used the van that was scratched maybe?  Of course I am just speculating, what do you guys think?

Who again were the last people to see Haleigh besides Misty?  Her granny and then I heard also that her brother and his friends came by later?  Is this true?  If so, I wonder who they are? 

Ok, I am asking too many questions...sorry. ;)  Along with praying for Haleigh, I have also been praying that God would expose what is hidden in darkness and bring it out into the light and that God would give LE His wisdom, knowledge and perserverance to see this through.  I don't know Sherriff Hardy personally but I have heard alot of good things about him from many people.  I can almost guarantee you that this case has become personal for him and his deputies being that they have there own families.  There not gonna let it go and whoever did it's days are numbered.

Good Morning Sieko and Monkeys just Waking Up..  As usual they got busy last night.. Still don't know how I got out of the cage.. I agree.. Once they have murdered a child, there should be an automatic death sentence.  Problem with that only, is not all the states currently have the death sentance and there is a wave out there to stop it in all states.   Another problem,  There is a conclusion that most child predators are active and already harmed children for a period of 17 years before actually being caught.
So, this becomes a more vast problem.  Child Molesters can and many times do, create child molesters.  It is a circle.  These people aren't born this way, they are made.  So, to change the problems.  It has to start in childhood.  Once they reach adulthood, there is no change..  I would even consider, picking up where France left off when they closed Devil's Island, too inhumane..  poor child molesters as adults seem to have more rights than the little victims. This is a problem.  I know in my heart, these people if they don't keep them in prison, or sentence them to die..  They are back out on the street and children at risk..  There needs to be something that keeps them completely away from children.  A new Devil's Island???   How about in the middle fo the North Pole..  Not to many would escape from there..   Or smack in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean??

I interviewed that waitress, and several others…All I can say is that investigators consider such behaviour rather strange for grieving parents, and it’s been noted by FBI profilers. Yep, Quantico is assisting Putnam County, along with FDLE, forensics labs and other top of the line LE experts when needed. That from officials talking with me on deep background about the case.

It's just a matter of time, I do believe LE has a very good idea what happened to Haleigh, maybe waiting for test results, to finally make an arrest.

Me too, and actually I personally don't think that going after the death penalty is the best thing in Casey's case, do I feel she deserves it, yes, do I feel it would happen, no way do I. I do think there will be an arrest made in this case, sometimes things just move slowly but eventually I do believe it will happen. I do of course want Haleigh to be found alive, but sadly my gut feeling says she is not, but I'm wrong a lot so I'm hoping my gut feelings are wrong.

I would rather Casey sit her butt out in jail for the rest of her life.  Obviously, the prosecution has their reasons. So BE IT!!!!   

Sure with they would give an update on the skeleton found.

Just saw KP on JVM. She advised LE has had this info on Misty’s trysts with other men since day 5 of the investigation.

While evidence of violence/drugs will certainly be of value in the case of custody for Junior, it isn’t ‘proof’ of complicity on the part of Roanld and Misty in Haleigh’s disappearance.

So if ‘the beef’ isn’t in the forensics, cell records, etc., looks to me like these two are going to continue to walk around scot free.

And if they’re not guilty I’ll eat my hat.

How long does Florida hold those condemned to death?  I would love to see Casey sit on her butt and rot for about 10 years, and the whole time open to the general population of the prison, and then know she is going to die.  She deserves no better.

3 children living in Nassau home where men arrested with drugs

Two Nassau County men were arrested on drug charges Tuesday at a home where three children were living.

The state Department of Children and Families was notified about the children, including one who is handicapped, according to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office. Ages and other details about the children were not released.

Deputies charged Anthony Jonathan Alderman, 46, and Kenneth Eugene Scott, 48, of Fernandina Beach after executing a search warrant at Alderman's residence in the 464100 block of Florida 200 in Yulee. Officers found Ecstacy pills, crack cocaine, marijuana, other drugs and three firearms at the house during the search.

Alderman was charged with two counts of armed drug possession with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Scott was charged with cocaine possession, four counts of cocaine sale and delivery and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thanks for the info Heart.  I was thinking that the man found was the one in Bryceville too.  I didn't realize there were two different skeletons.

On another topic, about LE telling people not to search, why are reasons as far as possible evidence would they have that they would know that searching would not help?

Sure, but don't feel bad I'm so mixed up going back and forth to three forums, sometimes I forget what forum I'm in. So the other remains that were found, are we hereing if it could be an adult or child.

I remember in the Anthony case, when Tim Miller came to search.  They would set up teams and each team would have a group leader, that had been briefed on the procedures for searching.  Should the searchers find anything that was significant, they would mark it with flags, and then the leader would stay with the flag, until the proper people were notified to remove the items found. 

Maybe they are afraid in this case, of evidence tampering, or not being qualified to significantly identify something that may be of great interest to this case.  Something the average person may ovelook, LE may find it very valuable evidence to the case.

That is my take on it anyhow.

not much news here...2 skeletons (?) were found...one was an older gentleman and the other one hasn't been identified...Thinking that if it was a child's skeleton, we would have heard more about it by now..

I agree, usually if a child's skeleton has been found they mention that pretty early after finding, I think.

As for Sheriff Hardy, he’s in a tough spot, and from what I’m learning from sources inside the investigation, has all the assets possible directed at this case. As for the Haleigh task force, experts do not believe this was a stranger abduction, so Moms and Dads should be able to breathe a little easier.
As the former Atlanta Bureau Chief for The Washington Post, I once covered the city’s missing and murdered children case, where 29 young people turned up murdered in the early 80s…Talk about a city in fear. There was talk of the Klan, the families, and a serial killer. And it turned out to be Wayne Williams, who turns out to be the first known African American serial killer. He was able to move about the target group without raising eyebrows and lured them with promises of stardom as a talent scout…All the evidence there pointed to a psychopath, and investigators now believe some murders were inadvertently lumped into the total–family members who used the epidemic of murder to hide their horrific deeds.

There’s no psycho serial child kidnapper roaming PC, most investigators believe, just a sicko hiding a dark and terrible secret closer to home. Sadly, when a case goes on this long, odds are the victim won’t be coming back. But without a body, tough to make a murder case.

Why arrest someone when he or she may be more valuable in inadvertently turning up clues to what happened?

The FBI has a special behavioural unit at Quantico and experts who are skilled at profiling– and interviewing and evaluating information from small children like Ron, Jr. I’m told that kind of input has been valuable to Sheriff Hardy.

What are your LE sources telling you? If you don’t have all the facts, and don’t know what investigators are looking at and thinking, how can you be so certain your advice is what they should do?

I didn’t say it wasn’t an abduction. Even a family member or friend can be take a child. I said it doesn’t fit the MO of a serial killer, or child kidnapper roaming PC as one writer seemed to say parents were fearing.

I agree HH.  Speaking of Misty, there was the first interview with Greg on Art Harris' site and it's where Greg is telling Art about him, Misty and "Nay Nay" partying for the weekend.  Towards the end of the interview, Art is speaking with Nay Nay and one of the comments she made was this -

Well, Monkeys.. I wouldn't get my hopes up on her frying...  Yes, I agree she deserves it.

When it was first talked about, many moons ago.. it was to let her know it was an option.  Then, they thought she might confess and plead out, so they talk her they wouldn't have it on the table.  She didn't budge..    So, they waited and let things stew.
Now, they had decided to put it on the table, and this is a two ply issue. One is to scare the heck out of her and her family, so she will confess and plead out.. and Two, her Attorney does not have the background to try her defense in a Death Penalty issue.
Which means, the no cost, I'm doing this out of the threads of my own heart, will be gone. So, the fam will be struck with having to pay for another hot shot attorney of their choice.. Or the crazy person will finally confess and take what the State Offers her.

Grama, you are so right..  a little update of software does a long way.. If your connection isn't too great, first is it wireless or straight to the computer.  If wireless, check your box, may need a new one, if its straight to the computer, call your provider
because that is not normal.. last but not least.. check your computer for virus, and key loggers.. They steal your speed...  Also, clean off your desk top if it has a lot on it.   See you guyz later, got to run to class..

 

2 inmates escape Putnam jail

 Officers and police dogs are searching for two Putnam County jail inmates who escaped about 4 a.m. this morning, according to investigators.

How Doni Ray Brown, 23, and Timothy Wayne Fletcher, 25, escaped from inside the jail was not released by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, which runs the jail. The Sheriff's Office, the Palatka Police Department, and the state Department of Corrections have officers and tracking dogs searching for the men. The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office has a helicopter assisting in the search.

Brown, whose last known address was in Satsuma, was arrested Aug. 17 on an armed robbery charge. Fletcher, of Welaka, was charged March 3 on three counts of failure to appear in court on an aggravated assault charge.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the men is asked to contact the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at (386) 329-0800 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 277-8477 and remain anonymous.

A 1992 Ford Truck was recently reported as being stolen from 330 North Highway 17 , Palatka. Due to the proximity of the theft to the Putnam County Jail, there is a possibility that the vehicle was stolen and being driven by the two escaped inmates.

The vehicle is a 1992 Crew Cab 2-Wheel Drive Ford Truck. The truck is red and white in color with a blue bed. The vehicle has recently been sanded and the colors are faded. The truck did not have a tag attached at the time of the theft.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone who sees a vehicle matching this description to report it to their local law enforcement agency.

ORIGINAL RELEASE:
Palatka – On April 15, 2009 at approximately 4:00 AM, two inmates, 23 year-old Doni Ray Brown and 25 year-old Timothy Wayne Fletcher escaped from inside the Putnam County Jail. Exactly how the two individuals escaped from the jail is not being disclosed at this time for investigative reasons.  The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an aggressive search utilizing K9 search teams from the Putnam Count Sheriff’s Office, the Palatka Police Department, and the Florida Department of Corrections. When I was a teenager, I was good friends with Timothy's mom.  The last time I saw him was when he was in diapers.  I really hate to hear that he is screwing up his life.  Him mom died several years ago from a brain tumor I believe.  It was a real shame, she was a nice person.  I have no idea who the other guy is but he sounds like bad news. 

I wonder how in the world they escaped from the jail?

It seems really strange to me that he would say at the end of his speech that he hopes people forgive him for his involvement in the situation and then quickly says even tho’ he isn’t involved…just in the wrong place at the wrong time. SEARCH FOR ADJI DESIR

Adji Desir has been missing from Immokalee since Saturday evening, Jan. 10, 2009.



     A nationally known psychic is heading to Southwest Florida to do her part in the search for Adji Desir.

Psychic Gale St. John is slated to arrive in Immokalee tonight and will start searching Thursday for 6-year-old Adji, who has been missing since Jan. 10.

In an interview today, St. John said she would be arriving at Orlando International Airport this afternoon and then drive down to Immokalee.

"Everything is taken care of," said St. John before catching her flight to Florida. "We got a place to stay. I will be in tonight around 9 p.m."

However St. John, who is traveling with her daughter Tamara, said she has not reached out to Adji’s family.

"We don’t seek out the family to bother them," she said, adding that she respects the family’s privacy, but that they should feel free to contact her.

Also unaware of St. John’s pending visit— the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

"We were unaware of her visit," said Sheriff’s spokeswoman Karie Partington adding the department has had no contact with St. John. "But we will be trying to contact her."

Partington said the department is still actively looking for Adji.

"We’re open to any ideas that may assist us in locating him," said Partington.

In spite of some discounting her abilities, St. John has appeared on Geraldo Rivera’s ‘At Large’, Larry King Live, HLN’s ‘Nancy Grace’ and Psychic Detectives, (Court TV ). St. John claimed to have located Caylee Anthony’s body months before authorities did.

St. John will remain in Immokalee through Sunday, when she is scheduled to travel to the Satsuma area to search for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, who has been missing since Feb. 10.

She will also be Twittering through the whole experience.

St. John will remain in Satsuma through April 23, 2009, before heading back to her home in Ohio.

In a written statement, Debra Brink said St. John would conduct a ‘blind-drive’ for each case. In essence, a ‘blind drive’ is when St. John starts driving from the last point where a person was seen and uses her gift to lead her in the right direction. Once the drive is done, she will do a thorough physical search of each area.

PALATKA, Fla. -- The search for two inmates who escaped from the Putnam County jail before dawn has expanded to Jacksonville and authorities believe the pair are also connected to a death in West Palatka on Wednesday.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said Doni Ray Brown, 23, and Timothy Fletcher, 25, broke out of the jail about 4 a.m. A short time later, a red and white 1992 Ford crew-cab pickup with a blue bed was stolen from behind a fenced gate of a tire store at 330 Highway 17 north in Palatka -- about one mile from the jail.

About 7 a.m. Wednesday, an off-duty law enforcement officer reported seeing two men on Jacksonville's Westside in a different vehicle -- a gold four-door Lincoln with a tan vinyl top. The vehicle, with Florida tag H288TV was seen on Interstate 10 near Chaffee Road.

Other Putnam County officials investigating a homicide in West Palatka told Channel they are certain the death is connected to the escapees. Information about that victim and the circumstances has not been released.

Channel 4's Laura Mazzeo was told Brown, of Satsuma, and Fletcher, of Welaka, were co-defendants charged with an armed robbery in 2008. They were housed in the same cell.

Authorities said described the method of escape as "creative," but said the details were part of the investigation.

Deputies said there were ground, aerial and K-9 searches under way in the area, but they also notified sheriff's offices in surrounded counties to be on the lookout for the two men.

Brown is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Fletcher is 6 feet tall and weighs 204 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He has several tattoos, including a sleeved left arm and "Tank" on his right fingers.

Authorities said both are convicted felons and have violent criminal histories.

In the comments section below the article, someone is saying that the murder victim is one of the inmate's grandmother!  The person said they also stole a safe. :smt009 I have no idea if these details are true or not though. It's so hard to grasp how cold and heartless some people are, it's like they have no conscience at all.

Haleigh's father loses his job

After waiting two months to hear from the father of still missing 5-year-old Putnam County kindergartner Haleigh Cummings, the Palatka plant where he worked has fired him for abandoning the job, the company said.

Cummings’ employment was a factor in his being granted custody of his daughter and son in 2005 because he was in a better position to pay for health insurance. Following Haleigh’s disappearance, the long estranged mother of the children has said she wants custody of their son, 4-year-old Ronald Cummings Jr.

Tony McCauley, director of human resources for PDM Bridge, said Cummings’ bosses never heard from him following Haleigh’s disappearance Feb. 10. McCauley said Cummings could have asked for a leave of absence.

“That never happened,” he said from company headquarters in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. “Without that happening, at some point they filled his position. He was released.”

Cummings operated a rolling crane at the plant north of Palatka. He was not a longtime employee.
“We still have a great deal of sympathy for Mr. Cummings and his family and certainly hope for the best,” McCauley said.

Haleigh was reported missing just as Cummings was arriving home from work about 3 a.m. on Feb. 10 and his girlfriend said the youngster was gone. The girl has not been found despite an intense search and investigation that is still continuing.

Earlier McCauley said the company was willing to hold the job open but wouldn’t discuss if it was doing anything else to assist the family. But Wednesday he said a decision had to be made that was consistent and fair regarding other employees.

This week PDM asked Putnam County deputies to monitor shift changes at the plant that employs about 120 people and manufactures structural sections for steel bridges. McCauley would not say if the company had a specific reason for the request but only that it is done in some cases.

“It’s just a judgment call you make from employee to employee based on what might happen,” he said.

Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Sheriff’s Office said deputies were stationed at the plant during the two daily shift changes beginning Monday. They wanted to make sure there were no disruptions in case Cummings was upset.

Officers did not encounter any either day, Greenwood said.

Calls to Palatka attorney Greg Kimball, who is representing Cummings, were not returned Wednesday.

It's not like he was incoherant or anything like that.  Either he, or a member of his family could have made a few minute phone call, and advised them that Ron would be phoning in shortly.

Obviously, PDM knew what was happening in the surrounding area, but it is not up to them to read the papers to see when their employee may return.

The tattoo, the wedding, and the mudding must have taken priority over his job.

I guess just could not find the time to phone his employer...

Part of me wants to protest the employer's decision to 'make the judgement' call to fire Ron, supposedly based on his not being in contact with his employer... And for that reason, am thinking wtf?  Considering the circumstances, the employer could not contact Ron himself before making such a decision, realizing what a nightmare this has been for the family?  And to then have LE on site when Ron returns? 

Okies... having said that...

Looking at Ron's actions since Haleigh disappeared, he surely has not "appeared" to be grieving to the point of not being able to return to work.  Getting a tattoo, getting married, supposedly strutting around town wanting free handouts because they all should "know" who he is.. blah blah.  Not to mention the rumor (?) that Ron's coworkers gave up their vacation and sick leave hours to Ron, so that he could spend time with his family etc.  Wonder if those folks feel slapped in the face when they saw how Ron was spending their hard-earned leave, rather than in how the majority of folks would act.  For the employer to have had LE there waiting, in anticipation that Ron might not take the news of his being fired very well... ermmmm that does sound that the employer is aware of Ron's supposed temper.  Perhaps anticipating Ron might 'go postal', as the saying goes.

It's just sad, all the way around.  And Jr. is the one hit the hardest by all this.  IMO

This is just like Ron, he hasn't proven to be very reliable every since this case started and I guess he is gonna continue down that same path, I agree, he still has Ronald Jr. to think about..................not good!

Since the only thing that could be released about his being fired, was "either he is re-hireable or not re-hireable..  So, the no contact with employer may well be just word on the street.  I bet, he was on probation, and he didn't keep the business aware of what was going on.  And yes, you are right..  If you think that way again, were taking the brick away from you, you might hurt yourself.. LMAO~I just read the first part of your post and then the "slap that side of myself" really cracked me up........I think it was really more than not reporting to work, I said a long time ago when they fired him they would have to come up with a "politically correct " excuse to cover their @ss, but I never thought they'd have had to put deputies there. One another topic, I got a call from the hospital today about SS checks for Eli, turns out whenever a child is born smaller than 1200 grams and a huge number of other issues (Turner's Syndrome being one), you get a SS check for their benefit as long as the SS dept deems it necessary and these checksare anwhere from around 450.00 to 675.00. I told the counselor we didn't need them as I have private insurance and were able to take care or any needs that may arise and was told it didn't matter, he will get it anyway?????? The hospital actually goes to the SS dept an gets the card and files the paperwork for you, so I bet she was getting some for of SS benefits. Just an FYI for thos curious!

I was thinking maybe he had no intentions of returning.  Especially with the donations rolling in.  He IMO would have called to ask foe a leave, if he had intentions of returning. Again my opinion only.

PUTNAM COUNTY, FL -- Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy says it's a strong possibility the two inmates who escaped from jail had been spotted in west Jacksonville.

A woman found dead in a home northwest of Palatka may be related to the search.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office says authorities found 66-year-old Helen Googe dead inside a home in the town of Bardin, which is about nine miles northwest of Palatka off State Road 100.

Her car is the one authorities are now looking for in the search for 23-year-old Doni Ray Brown and 25-year-old Timothy Wayne Fletcher.

Relatives told First Coast News Googe was Fletcher's step-grandmother.

Police Examine Possible Link Between Bones Found, Missing Woman

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators said they are using every tool at their disposal to learn if human remains found in the woods of Nassau County are those of a Callahan woman who disappeared nearly nine years ago. 
 

According to the Nassau County Sheriff's Office, two hunters found a human skull and bones last Friday while walking in a wooded area off county Road 119.

Sheriff Tommy Seagraves said it appears the bones are those of a white woman.

"We're going to send this information to Broward County, where they have computer automated system that's is able to reconstruct and rebuild a form of a face figure to the skull itself," Seagraves said.

He said foul play is suspected.

Jackie Markham has been missing since December 2000.
 
Detectives said they think they know how the woman was killed, but they would not release that information because they said it's too important to their investigation. However, detectives did reveal that they have requested Jacquelyn Markham's dental records to see if they match.

I hope whoever seen this, would have contacted the Putnam Sheriff with the license plate number to get it checked out~~

Escape, suspicious death shatter rural peace

BARDIN - Late Wednesday afternoon, grim-faced Putnam County Sheriff's Office detectives and command staff crowded around a driveway that led to a neatly kept red brick house on more than 2 acres at 315 Bardin Road.

In the driveway was a blue, older model pickup truck that looked like it had not been driven recently.

In the house, according to Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy, Helen Key Googe lay dead.

"Right now we have a 66-year-old white female deceased ... Her '99 four-door Lincoln is missing from the residence," Hardy said.

Hardy later verified that Googe was the step-grandmother of Timothy Wayne Fletcher, who escaped from the Putnam County Jail with Doni Ray Brown. Both men, violent felons, are considered armed and dangerous, he said.

Deputies blocked traffic at the intersection of Key Road and Bardin Road and draped yellow crime scene tape around the area. The scene is not far from Bud's Grocery, a landmark and gathering place in the rural community.

Neighbors and others gathered in a yard adjoining Googe's house. They settled on folding chairs under shade trees to watch whatever went on next door. Other onlookers drove slowly by the residence.

A report that the Lincoln may have been spotted on the west side of Jacksonville was confirmed, Hardy said.

"These guys have to be caught," he said. "I want them."

Deputies probe escape, body's discovery

A daring pre-dawn escape Wednesday from the Putnam County Jail has turned deadly.

The body of Helen Googe, a longtime employee of the county tax collector who retired about three years ago, was found at her Bardin Road home late Wednesday afternoon. Googe, 66, was the stepgrandmother of Timothy Wayne Fletcher, one of two men who escaped from the jail in Palatka, Sheriff Jeff Hardy said.

Googe's car, a 1999 gold-and-tan Lincoln, was missing and the subject of a nationwide alert.

Fletcher, 25, and Doni Ray Brown, 23, in custody on felony charges, escaped from the jail about 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to reports from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

They are believed to have stolen a pickup truck from the Louis Tire Shop north of the jail and crashed it through a metal gate to get away. That pickup was recovered in a heavily wooded area near Googe's home.

Deputies found Googe's body while investigating leads in the escape.

"We don't know how she died," Rick Ryan, chief deputy of the sheriff's office, said. "The cause of death is undetermined at this point."

An off-duty Clay County deputy sheriff spotted Googe's car in Jacksonville early Wednesday morning and thought it was unusual for two young men to be using that model car, Ryan said.

Following a hunch, the deputy, still off-duty, later checked the license plate number he had written down and recognized Googe's name and her relationship with Fletcher, Ryan said.

"He works the graveyard shift, he goes to bed, he wakes up and sees we have a couple of escaped prisoners," he said. "That's what led us here."

Deputies had checked Googe's house in the morning and, although no one answered, there were no apparent signs of foul play, Ryan said. The Clay deputy's tip prompted a second visit to the house and deputies found Googe's body after forcing their way inside.

"Nobody would answer the door, the vehicle was gone, so we made forced entry into the home," Hardy said. "And that's when we found the lady deceased."

Putnam officers visited the homes of all known relatives of Fletcher and Brown on Wednesday, Ryan said.

Late Wednesday night, as crime scene investigators from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement carefully worked at Googe's home, authorities declined to say she was murdered, instead terming it a "suspicious death."

They did, however, say her death was linked to Fletcher and Brown.

Fletcher had lived with Googe for several months and was familiar with the area, Ryan said.

Deputies in a helicopter from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office spotted the stolen Palatka pickup off Old Starke Road about three miles from Googe's home about 5:45 p.m. and directed authorities to the site.

Putnam authorities have declined to say how Fletcher and Brown got out of the jail except that "contraband" played a part in the escape.

"We definitely have a contraband issue and an obvious breach of security," Hardy said Wednesday morning. "It's something that we are taking extremely seriously and we're in the process of correcting those deficiencies right now as we speak."

Hardy declined to be more specific pending the agency's investigation.

Hardy said Fletcher and Brown, who shared a cell, were discovered missing during a count of the jail's 300 inmates at 5 a.m. Their escape prompted a lockdown of the jail that remained in effect into Wednesday night.

The escape triggered a massive search of a five-mile radius around the jail, which is off State Road 19 on Palatka's northern boundary.

Helicopters from Alachua and St. Johns counties searched from the air as bloodhounds from the Tomoka state Correctional Institution and dogs from Palatka and Putnam County worked the ground.

The fugitives were tracked to the Louis Tire Shop, authorities said.

The pickup stolen from the shop was being prepared for repairs to the body and painting. It was not registered and did not have a license plate.

The owner of a neighboring business said someone attempted to steal his work van and broke into a vehicle at another business.

"I went to jump in my van to take off and that's when I noticed they busted my ignition," Doug Neely of Canvas Plus said. "I am surprised I didn't hear anything last night."

Ken Nicholson, the owner of Quality Ice, said his firm's video surveillance system captured the truck theft.

"We got them where they got in the truck, they backed up and went through a gate," he said.

Tire tracks at the tire shop indicated quick acceleration inside the gate, and skid marks turned north on the pavement of U.S. 17.

Good morning... It was very irresponsible of Ron not to at least call them at some point, they could not hold his job indefinitely. Yes, it would have been thoughtful of them to contact him, but they are certainly not obligated to do that. HE should be obligated to contact THEM, if he cared about his job. Very thoughtless and immature to just waltz in, expecting to go to work when HE decided to.... without first calling them and asking if he still HAD a job. Two months.... there is no excuse for that.... considering that he had time to go 2 hours away to get a tatoo, make a very public marriage proposal, then get married, go to NYC, go mudbogging, go to the fair twice, and lord only knows what else. This is the kind of thing teenagers do.... not a grown man with a family to support. Any respect I ever had for him is out the window now. I do not blame the company in the least... they were in their rights. If he cared so little for his job, then good enough for him. The company does not owe him one thing. I'm sure his co-workers who donated their vacation time are slapping themselves in the head right now.

Okay this is my first official post here at monkeys, though I have lurked a while. I posted on another forum that I could not see alot of evidence of RC spending his finances on his children. No curtains...ie - Misty taking the blanket out of the window to wash and put on Haleigh, Only one blanket for each child, no major yard play equipment. Looks like he invested in something it certainly wasn't qualified child care. I got a lot of drama and flack for my post there. I stand by it. In response to today's story in the Florida Times-Union, Greg Kimball, the attorney representing the father of Haleigh Cummings, Ronald Cummings, issued the following press release:

April 16, 2009

This press release is in response to the Florida Times-Union article of today's date.

Ronald Cummings in the last two months has had to deal not only with the disappearance of his daughter Haleigh, but also false muckraking allegations by attorney Kim Picazio, representing Crystal Sheffield, and Picazio's personal friend "Cobra."

From the time of Haleigh's disappearance, Ronald Cummings was told that his employer was holding his job open. He was told by his employer that he could start back to work on Monday, April 6, 2009. Ronald agreed to this date and was prepared to go into work when he was told on Friday, April 3, 2009 that the offer to return to work was being withdrawn for "abandoning his job."

Ronald expressed his displeasure with the company for going back on its word, but at no time threatened anyone.

This office has referred Ronald to a Daytona Beach law firm that handles labor and employment law.

It should be noted that Crystal Sheffield is currently thousands of dollars in arrears for child support. She has not been gainfully employed in approximately two years. When Crystal and Ronald lived together it was mainly Ronald's grandmother that cared for their children since Crystal was usually watching TV.

This office anticipates providing Department of Children and Families (DCF) with new information on a confidential basis in the near future.

It is ironic that the last Florida Times Union article by Dana Treen on April 5, 2009 bemoaned that the squabbles and personal differences of Haleigh's parents have distracted from the search for Haleigh. The article blamed both sides equally. The article was rebutted in a press release from this office (which is being re-printed and follows this release).

Now Dana Treen wants to wade into personal matters on the side of Crystal Sheffield. Which is it, Mr. Treen?

This press release is in response to the Sunday, April 5, 2009 Florida Times Union article on the Haleigh Cummings case.

The headline of the article was "Family Feud Takes Focus off Search for Haleigh." Both Ronald Cummings, the father of Haleigh, and Crystal Sheffield, the mother of Haleigh, were blamed equally.

The reporter for the Florida Times Union failed to give a proper perspective on this issue.

A few facts need to be clarified:

1. It was Crystal Sheffield who chose to launch a Department of Children and Families (DCF) investigation about Ronald Cummings, as part of preparation for a custody battle over Ronald Cummings, Jr., rather than focus on the search for Haleigh.

2. Crystal Sheffield got attorney Kim Picazio from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to represent her. Attorney Picazio has been on television at every opportunity seeking publicity for herself and about family law issues.

3. Attorney Kim Picazio has admitted on television that the so-called investigator William E. Staubs, who refers to himself as "COBRA," is a personal friend. Cobra arrived in Putnam County from Ft. Lauderdale [sic] shortly after Haleigh went missing and has been feeding information to Picazio and some media.

4. Ronald Cummings had to obtain legal counsel in self defense of the public allegations by Sheffield-Picazio, and also regarding Sheffield-Picazio allegations to DCF.

5. That Kimball & Snider, P.A. only got involved in this case on March 18, 2009, approximately five weeks after Haleigh went missing. Our initial press release (a copy of which follows) of March 19, 2009, in paragraph three (3) stated that Sheffield-Picazio allegations about family law manners were detracting from the search for Haleigh.

6. That Kimball & Snider, P.A. got involved in this case because Ronald Cummings, at the urging of a family member, called our Palatka office. Palatka is about five miles from Satsuma where Ronald resided.

7. Kimball & Snider, P.A. has responded through press releases to rebut and correct Sheffield-Picazio allegations. We have not appeared on national tv or even given any interviews to local media.

8. Kimball & Snider, P.A. has provided information on a confidential basis to DCF and Putnam County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) about this case, and will continue to act responsibly to assist DCF and PCSO.

What the he!! do they expect???  A child goes missing while in the home care of the father. 

It was HIS RESPONSIBILITY AS THE PARENT of Haleigh to have responsible ADULTS look after her.  He is the one that FAILED....He is getting what he deserves.

TJ Hart reported that Putnam County LE is working very hard, but saying very little.

Hart also stated that he had a conversation with Cobra, and Cobra was talking about the double lifestyle of Misty Cummings during the time that Haleigh went missing.

Kim Picazio admitted that Crystal Sheffield was thousand of dollars behind on child support and had not been gainfully employed in 2 years, when questioned about Crystal's income and how she would be able to provide for the children should she gain custody of them.  Picazio said that Crystal is a stay at-home mom and mentions Crystal's fiancee.  Also I believe that Picazio stated that Chad Griffis, Crystal's fiancee had recently gained custody of his own children.

Picazio stated that she is in touch with DCF and that there is a 60 day investigation period that has to be done before the DCF can present their findings to their supervisor and currently it has been about 40 days.

It has been a long few weeks even with his quick passing and I still make it a point to pray for Haleigh and Adji. They have been on my mind even with everything else and we need to find them. seems like all I do around here is catch up on threads! following 3 different threads gets impossible to stay caught up..!

first of all, Searching my thoughts are with you!

second, Ron could have taken the time to stop in at his employers to check in and just touch base with them...at least a phone call...but stopping  in would have been better...that being said, I think that he may end up getting some money out of the employer for firing him at a time like this if he decides to sue...at least he may get back pay from the time that he was fired or he may get his job back if he wanted it...I am no expert on this, but when I worked in HR at a business, you would be surprised at the excuses that people came up with why they didn't touch base with the company while they were out for one reason or another...and in many cases, they won! especially if the company did not give them reasonable reasons of why they were being terminated....Was Ron sent anything by mail saying that he would be terminated if he did not contact them or return to work by a certain date? I think that there will be some sympathy towards Ron from the labor board since he is out of work for the circumstances of Haleigh being missing...jmo....like I said, I am no expert, but he could come out of this financially better off?  at the very least, he will be able to collect unemployment now I would guess...
Again, Ron should have contacted the employer...no excuse for not doing that...imo....will be interesting to see how this will all play out now...
just one more kink in this saga...what next?

Yes, I agree! Why would they bring up the child support issues? That has nothing to do with Ron losing his job.
These lawyers are very unethical and unprofessional, IMO.
This is another example of Ron thinking he is special and deserves special consideration. Two months is a long time to hold a job open without at least trying to talk to them about it. I don't think he qualified for FMLA, being there only a few months. Now I guess we're supposed to feel sorry for him....?

I worked for a company about 20 years ago, and came down with a relapse of the flu, was in bed for 3 weeks. I called in sick every day, or had my husband to, when I couldn't talk. EVERY DAY!! Still... they called me towards the end of the second week, very nice, and asked me if I had any idea when I could return to work. I was still too weak, and I told them if they had to terminate me, go ahead, I would not protest it. They said, NO... they did not want to do that because I had been so good to show up every day and never took time off. I finally got able to come back to work and by phone they worked out a schedule for me to return. The supervisors and manager were extremely understanding, it was just a couple of co workers who put in a couple of jabs at me. Anyway, my point is... I did not leave them hanging, I called... I made sure they knew I cared about my job.
I hope that PDM has policies in place, has good lawyers and there will be no backlash from this. If Ron never contacted them during this two months, they had to assume he did not care about his job.

right TxLady...Ron should have most definitely  called his company at the very least...companies will try to work with a person, especially if they are a good employee....
but, he can always say that he has been under tremendous stress and grief, that he expected that his job would be held open considering what he is going through etc...you get my drift...
not saying that it will work, but it sure may! especially if he has an attorney helping him...sometimes these companies will settle just to get the court hassles and costs  out of the way...

This case seems to have stalled.
And that is really unfortunate for the family.

LE isn't letting anything out, Art Harris says he will post as he can.
But there appears to be anything new.
I don't think anyone meant anything reallly disrespectful to a missing girl.
My take is that Ron and Misty have done too many things for me to squeeze out any sympathy for them. LE can't get anywhere with Misty, maybe her brain is in too much of a fog. People want to find Haleigh, but when you have the person who was last with her lying and telling different stories and the attorney not addressing that big issue, people get mad.
Whether Ron has that job or not, whether they fired him with or without cause, the back child support issue, rumors, gossip, true not true, his attorney doesn't even mention that it is MRS Misty Cummings who holds the key. These other items are side issues.
What is Ron doing to find Haleigh ? Misty ?
If Haleigh is to be found, there has to be some truth to LE from Misty and Ron rather than these Anthony-ish press releases and statements.  Misty left the last LE interview because they weren't nice to her.

In that thing from Ron's attorney it says he didn't threaten anyone.

Where I work and I am sure most places do this, there is something called job abandonment. They have to hear from you. If I am sick, I have to call in BEFORE my start time that day. If I am going on leave, it has to be approved before. If there is an accident and in a coma, we're good. But, and believe me, this has happened, a doctor's certificate is mandatory. 
Ron should have called his employer and worked out a return to work plan. Else, they probably have every right to let him go.
PDM is a big company, they must have all their policy written down.
I realize that Ron can claim force majeure but he could speak and use the phone.

I've been over on Sandra's thread for days and trying to catch up here.  I'm so far behind on Caylee's thread but from the bits and pieces I read over there it's pretty much the same old drama just waiting to go to trial.


I just wanted to say that from the beginning of Haleigh's disappearance I've felt that Ron and Misty know exactly what happened to the point of fabricating the whole thing.  OK I'm a newbie and I know what it means if you want to throw nanners, I'm ready.

But please hear me out as to why I feel this way.  Their stories never added up from the beginning as we all know too well.  Then one of the grandmas, I believe it was Sykes had some sort of feeling that Haleigh was in Georgia or Alabama.  Then there was the story of Misty's 3 day bender.  Ronald didn't seem very upset at all that Misty was with another guy.  Why????  IMHO they made up that story to so they could get granny to watch the kids the weekend that Misty was messed up.  In other words Ron could have called Granny and said hey can you watch the kids I need to find Misty.  Then Ronald, Misty and whoever have three days to plan this fake abduction.  IMO they probably haven't figured out how to bring her back into the picture.  They didn't plan that part because they didn't really know how it all would play out.  This could explain their lack of emotion over Haleigh if they are biding their time to figure out where to have her dropped off.  I really hope I am right for Haleigh's sake. Holding on to hope.

After watching the live feed of Sandra Cantu's Memorial Service today and watching her parents my heart was torn.  In comparison, IMHO I've never seen Ronald display any genuine emotion over Haleigh's disappearance.  To me it all seemed like an act.

Sorry these are my feelings and I do think Haleigh is alive somewhere.

but the mere fact that he has a daughter missing....don't you think that he will get some slack on that? he can say that he was searching, was too distraught etc...I am not saying that he will get anything out of this, but I think that he will probably have a really good case...there will always be some who have not followed this case who will be thinking that his company is heartless for firing him while his daughter is still missing blah blah blah...Mind you, I am not supportive of Ron at all on this job situation...just putting it out there that he may win this case against his employer if he pursues it...maybe not.....time will tell...

one time a guy at our work had not called, had not shown up to work for almost a week,..our risk manager went over to his house and banged on the door....no answer...he was fired for no call, no show...he took it to the unemployment office.. we fought against it....he got it...he told them that he was too sick to get out of bed to open the door....they believed him and he got unemployment! believe it or not!

^^^^^^Again...I am by no means an expert on employment/unemployment cases...just throwing it out there to see what you all thought about it....I am sure that there is someone on here who is actively involved in this sortof thing who could give us some good advice on the matter....

Hello  glad to have you here.......I like your theory but,  the school has said that Haleigh did attend school on that Monday, also there's the guy White boy Greg that has taken a poly and passed and has told the whole story about the weekend he spent with Misty, also the neighbors say they saw  her outside playing that afternoon, the AC guy said she was there that afternoon, so no This couldnt be what happened ,   I wish it was!

I'm no expert either but with the economy the way it is and state budgets the way they are, the labor board may go in favor of the employer.  These are hard times you know??..

At face value though it would seem heartless....   One thing is for sure he would not recieve as much pay as if he were working.  Maybe he feels like if Crystal isn't working then he isn't going to work either.  He just seems to me to be so arrogant and spiteful and like no one is going to get one up on him.

case by case basis huh? I wonder how many times RC had expressed "displeasure" at work or around fellow employees. They say they make the judgment call from employee to employee, I wonder if Crystal's claims aren't that far from the truth after all.

This statement from PDM obviously hit a nerve in the Cummings camp.

He most likely is not eligible for FMLA if he has worked there for less than one year. Most large companies have human resource specialist who make sure they are within the law when they fire an employee.

Looks like his Jose Baez type atty's would have been in touch with PDM when they entered the picture to ensure good lines of communication regarding his employment, especially when you consider that almost 1 in 12 are unemployed due to our economic circumstance we find our country in!

I added the little caption, underneath the dog....meaning the dog said that.  It was pulled, end of it. 

I knew this would cause issues.  The forums have been very busy and I haven't been able to always catch when I can.  There is a fineline between funny and inappropriate.  Sometimes it's too fine.  I have edited out MANY in the Caylee forum whenever I see them.  I will edit out here too whenever I see them.  Sorry if that bothers you but I thought finding Haleigh is what is really important.

Residents worry about missing child, hope for the best

SATSUMA - Despite continuing support and concern for missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, some members of the Satsuma community are not afraid to ask the hard questions.

"Where are the priorities?" Jacob Brey, pastor of Hope Lutheran Church said recently. "It seems like the attentions been diverted off Haleigh. I think some people in our congregation are just not pleased with some of the antics of the individuals."

As a retired police officer of 28 years, Brey, who lives in River Villas, said Haleigh's disappearance has made people "more protective than ever."

"The main thing I've seen is concern for the child, but it makes you think," Brey said. "It takes away the freedom. It takes away the fact that you can't just let your child go a couple blocks down and play ball without feeling like you have to have them in eyesight at all times."

Other locals feel as if the situation has brought the community together.

"I feel like it has humbled Palatka, because nothing like this has ever happened," Stacy Kriser, owner of Noah's Ark Consignment Store, said. "We hear about it in other cities, but when it happens in our own county it makes us think and brings us back down to earth."

Kriser said that many people who come in the store ask her about it.

"It definitely gets people talking," Kriser said.

When asked what people were talking about, Kriser responded, "Nothing I can repeat."

Paul White, 79, is a Putnam County native retired from Georgia-Pacific. He said the small town has received negative popularity since the incident began.

"I don't mind the news people, I mean everybody's got to do their job," White said, "But there has been a big influx of people."

White said the town's positive reputation changed after authorities began releasing the number of sexual offenders who live in the area.

"Before, it seemed you had nothing but wholesome people," White said. "It makes you wonder. Of course there are still many more good people than bad people."

He can relate to what Haleigh's family is experiencing, due to losing his own granddaughter in a fatal car accident years ago.

"I think law enforcement has done everything they can possibly do," White said. "It's just one of those terrible things."

Kathie Kellie, a local foster mom, said the community has been very generous despite the family's polarity, which has twisted Haleigh's case in separate directions.

"Maybe they weren't the parents of the year, but the community has overlooked that, and has extended out their hand in every which way," Kellie said. "There's so many questions about the family, and our community has said, 'Yeah, maybe I don't agree with that, but Haleigh needs us.'"

Haleigh Cummings was reported missing on Feb. 10 at 3:27 a.m. from her Satsuma home and no trace of her has been found.

An Amber Alert remains active, with a reward posted at $35,767.

I agree, Katgram... there is no valid excuse not to at least call them, and let them know something. Abandonment means just that... up and leave or not return, and no reason given. Some jobs might accept a two months leave for something like this, but not without some communication during that time. It sounds like he just didn't go back, never called them to let them know anything. Or maybe he or someone (his mom?) called them that first day, but he never followed up afterwards. I can see a company holding a job open for a couple weeks... maybe longer since she was not found. But after a month or two, they might have presumed he just wasn't coming back, didn't care about a job. They are not obligated to hold the job indefinitely.
I assume that these lawyers prefer to accept Ron's word for what happened, rather than the company. They are insinuating that Ron was told he could return to work that Monday, and then changed their minds upon him showing up. I doubt that is the way it happened at all. I am guessing that he just figured he could waltz in, punch the clock and his job was still waiting. I bet he never called them at all, to find out if he still had a job. Or whoever he talked to did not know he was terminated. Whatever... he should have checked in with them occasionally during these two months... he didn't.
He can try to sue them, but I don't know if it will get anywhere. Most big companies have policies in place to prevent former employees from collecting on lawsuits. These idiotic lawyers might try it, but I think they are in over their heads with this one.
I don't know about FL, but in TX, he would not even be eligible for unemployment. If you are fired for a valid reason, forget it. Abandonment is a valid reason.

Being so frustrated with the Cummings family, JG's pic made me chuckle. 

I can understand why it was removed though, not knowing who the guilty party is.  If the Cummings family turns out to be innocent and lost a Daughter, that pic will still be floating around cyberland for years to come.

IIRC, it was Marie, Crystal's mom who had the feeling Haleigh was in Georgia or Alabama.

I wasn't talking about collecting unemployment... more towards suing them for thousands of $$$, because of the termination. Unemployment only pays a percentage of what you made in a certain time period.... certainly not big bucks.

It could be, Cookie.... but the company can probably fight it.... Ron's fingers were not broken, he could talk and walk... they will say he could have picked up the phone and called them at least. He was not sick, and if he was able to get married, and all the other stuff he did... which his co workers will testify to... he could have gone to work. He might be able to get unemployment with the missing daughter story... but if the company turns it down because the termination was valid,  the state can't do much about it. Maybe they have enough consideration not to fight the unemployment... but they won't let him win a lawsuit, I betcha. AND... if he does qualify for unemployment by some stroke of luck, he will still have to be active in looking for another job.

I was turned down for unemployment about 10 years ago, because we moved back here after living in another part of the state, due to my M.I.L. having terminal cancer... my husband also had a job waiting for him here. They said my reasons were not valid. When I tried to explain that I could not have stayed there while my husband and son moved back home, they still turned me down. Moving 500 miles from a job because of an in-law's illness is not a valid reason to leave a job. Not fair, but that's the way it goes.

Everybody sees things differently. I don't find some pictures amusing at all, not on just this forum, but on others. I just don't complain about it. That's what my scroll button is for!

TxLady2 ~  I understand what you are saying about scrolling.  But sometimes pics or posts are not appropriate for a missing child's thread, and it can be important to use the "report to moderator" button and let admin and mods know there could be a problem.  It can be hard to read all posts in a large forum, and things get missed that should be edited.  Also, it can be an indicator if a number of posters object to what is being posted.  You have a say here too TXLady2, and if you find something offensive I would like to know that.  Using the report to mod button allows posters to remain anonymous to others.  And admin and mods can decide if the post needs to be edited.  Just reporting doesn't mean it will be edited.  But it is definitely looked at.  Muffy

Something along the lines, of ron contacting a/the caseworker and putting the lean on, to assure that the caseworker would tell Geraldo what a good guy ron was..

Prisoner Escape Detailed

The initial investigation indicates that Fletcher had been transported to the Putnam County Court House for a hearing, and upon being returned to the Putnam County Jail, he was able to pry loose a bottle jack from the inside of the transport van. Fletcher concealed the jack inside his pant leg when he was returned to the jail and sent back to his cell which he shared with Brown. It appears that the jack was not discovered when Fletcher returned to the jail, because he had a cast on his leg in preparation for foot surgery and was provided with oversize pants to accommodate the cast. Further he walked with a pronounced limp - all of which helped him hide the tool.

Sometime during Tuesday night, after all of the prisoners were locked in their cells for the night, Fletcher and Brown used the bottle jack to jack up the sink/toilet combination appliance from the wall of their cell, popping the bolts that held it to the wall. Behind the appliance is a hole that the pipes run through, obstructed by metal bars. Fletcher and Brown apparently again used the jack to pry the bars far enough apart to shimmy through into a small maintenance corridor called a "chase."

After entering the "chase," the two made their way to an outside access door that opens into the inner perimeter fenced yard. They then dug a hole and went under the inner fence finally reaching the outer fence. It appears Brown and Fletcher were able to squeeze between a gate and the outer fence to make their escape.

Sheriff Jeff Hardy has ordered an intensive internal investigation to determine exactly what happened and why. As that internal investigation is completed, more information will be forthcoming

The public needs to be aware that the two individuals are considered
armed and dangerous.

Haleigh Cummings Fact vs Fiction

I'm not from the Florida area, but the disappearance of this young girl has captured my attention when the case was spotlighted by the national media. From the very start, it is painfully obvious there is much more to this case than meets the eye.

The story of the mystery man in black brings to mind the Susan Smith tragedy. Everything the parents/caregivers have said and done only proves they are being less than totally truthful.

In the past few weeks, national media attention has disappeared. When sifting through the many articles and blogs on the internet, its very hard to separate fact from fiction.

I'm left with a few questions:

1. There have been reports of drug use by both parents and the babysitter. Have there been any reports on which specific drug (or drugs) were being abused?

2. Has it been confirmed that the babysitter was using drugs immediately prior to the disappearance of Haleigh?

3. Has there truly been inappropriate use of donations on the part of the parents/caretaker?

4. Have there been any other inconsistencies uncovered between the original statements to police and current circumstances?

I know everybody has theories on this case. I'm looking for reported facts that are generally accepted by major news agencies.

Thank you in advance for your help. I hope this situation is resolved soon and I pray this young girl is unharmed.

I didn't see what was posted but I wanted to add my two cents.  As a mod we have to ability to lock a thread and edit posts.  Klaasend is the administrator of this forum.  There are only 3 people who have that ability (Red and Dugga are the others).  When Klaasend edits a post it is always for the better of this forum.  She should never be questioned.  Klaas is the boss and I consider myself just a helper.  Without her knowledge and guidance every day we would be lost.  She didn't get over 50,000 posts for nothing.  So when someone sees something edited by her it is for a good reason.
