On February 2008, Jose Baez received the Arete Award from St Thomas University School of Law.  Interesting to say the least.

Here is what The Arête Award is:
Greek for virtue, excellence, reaching one’s highest potential granted to a graduate who embodies these traits through excellence in his or her field, and dedication to public service, social justice and citizenship.

This award is something you have to apply for! It is not something the School of Law goes through and looks at each individual in the classes and says, Oh Jose Baez, he should get this award! Jose had to apply for this award!  I wonder if I wrote to Karen Malin, Director of Alumni Relations she would take that award away!

"Now mind you, Jose Baez is a 1997 graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law, but just passed the Bar exam 4 years ago! Yes, it took 8 years to pass the Bar exam and he must have put in immediately for the Arete Award. I wonder if the School of Law regrets this now, as they have seen him in action, read the motions, seen his in-experience? Maybe they should have considered that it took him 8 years to pass the bar. Sounds to me after 5 years, he should have returned to college and start all over".

And: He went to St. Thomas because it is supposed to be THE EASIEST place on the planet to pass the bar!!! And it took several times there too?! My God he is such a loser!!

Hearing in the Zenaida Gonzalez case set for next week

Lawyers in the Zenaida Gonzalez defamation case will head back to court next week.

A case management hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 1 at 8:30 a.m. Gonzalez is suing Casey Anthony, who had said a woman named "Zenaida Gonzalez" kidnapped her daughter, Caylee Anthony. Gonzalez says Anthony's accusation ruined her reputation. Anthony's attorneys say the lawsuit is frivolous because Anthony has maintained that this woman was not the Gonzalez she knew.

Darn it...except for now, it will a longer time for her to sign up for book deals and interviews because she will not want to sign any lucrative contracts while she is claiming to be broke..the longer it takes, the less $ she will be collecting for deals. Even though Sept 2 nd isn't that far away, every week things are passing her by...we hope anyways.

I've read this case.
The parents didn't feed the snake for a month.
The snake had always got loose.

That is child endangerment period.
JMO, the parents should of been sentenced to lwp period.

The conduct of Mr. Baez in the Casey Anthony trial was solely intended on enriching himself at the expense of the justice system. Put simply, Mr. Baez cheerfully turned the Anthony trial into a self-serving vehicle for self-promotion without any regard for the oath of office he took that mandated he assist the court in the fair administration of justice.

Unfortunately, Mr. Baez has single-handedly besmirched the reputation of the legal profession in Florida as a result of his B-performance acting job.
If Mr. Baez is allowed to escape punishment for his egregious misconduct during the Anthony trial, then future trials may as well be conducted as purely theatrical events with the winning performer being allowed to select his prize from Door No. 1 (not guilty verdict), No. 2 ($1 million medical malpractice award), or No. 3 ($5 million product liability award).

Oh, Turbo----You should have seen the picture.  Jose sitting at a table grinning like a (I started to say monkey, bad choice of words) fool with three young ladies.(?)  It said he presented himself as a successful attorney in the US,  At that time, he was not licensed to practice law.  I do hope someone saved the pic.  You've got to see it.  Someone on the forum said that his wife is from Columbia.  Probably that's how he got her. God, he can't even get a wife by himself.  Has to hire an agency.

mkes you wonder. I wonder how he treats her. I recall when I lived in seattle. A man was married to a mail order from the phillipines.
He was very abusinve and controlling! his wife met a younger man ! seeing him on the side! long story short! she filed for divorce! she was in court with her best friend and the father of her of the baby. The husband wants into court! and shor her, her boyfriend and her best friend. All died.
