all of you  Monkees rock! what a bunch of sweet caring monkees there are here..
thanks to everyone in the area for doing your part on "behalf" of all of us...Rest assured that if God forbid something horrible like this happened near me, I would be out searching, passing out fliers etc....I passed out fliers and had one in my car window..(the only one that I ever saw here in my area ) of Madeleine McCann...I was in 2 airports during the time that she  first went missing...O'Hare and also In Orlando and left fliers on the tables and in the bathrooms there...heck,,,ya have 2 hours to kill waiting for flights, might as well do something useful right? Anyway, it made me feel that I was doing something to help find her...she is still missing, but who knows,,,it only takes 1 person to see the fliers and to spark a memory of seeing that child..or any missing child...
carry on monkees with your truly good work of helping children...I am so touched by all of this, you can't imagine....
xxxxx
You are right about just one person seeing a flyer in a window or a picture on one of the shows. Shasta Groene was identified that way. Elizabeth Smart also benefitted from publicity.
In our malls here there are always the Missing Photos with details for the Canada wide missing.

Didn't Sandra leave and then go back to the house and leave again ?
Maybe the backpack ( which I see also ) was from the first trip outside.

Yes, she did, that could be, that was the first trip outside, and also her flip flops are to big for her feet, maybe her mother's shoes?

Hope this hasn't already been posted.  This is a another vid of Sandra leaving on youtube.

To me it looks like she is wearing a backpack or a purse of something.  I heard LE said no.  It just doesn't look like a shadow to me.

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1j5R-sVIRA

It's the same video but better quality and I agree she is wearing a backpack.  LE has said no, that it was a shadow but I disagree.
I agree.....she has a backpack or something... yep.

Throwing this out there for the brainiacs on here who I wish I was more like..

What if:

We KNEW it was someone she trusted, hypothetically one of the three men we know about.

Police know that as well, and have searched the obvious areas in a case like this, associated with same.

We make the assumption that k9's have indicated she was in the properties that have been searched, but cadaver dogs have NOT hit there. ( I say this because if they had, that place would be on lockdown and they would be gutting it one by one. It is a very small area and if they had the kind of access they say, cadavers would not miss it, imo.

Therefore, if we assume that the blockade which has been from 6PM - 8PM, and not starting at 4PM, or 4:15 as the video is timestamped, should we assume there is a reason to believe we should be focusing on that 2 hour window?

Imo, I think that is critical. I think they know "who" but not "where" if that makes any sense.
Given the above, where can she be?

Fox News just showed the video and said LE is calling it a missing persons case but not saying she was abducted. Also some bags were taken by LE from a neighbor's a few hours ago. Family saying her hair is light brown with blonde streaks, from the sun. LE searching waterways, nearby neighborhoods, etc.

What I would like to know is where Slaytor was that Friday afternoon, early evening. What if he asked Sandra to go bowling, if we are to believe his wife that he takes her bowling, and that is how she went willingly with him? The thing that is bugging me the most is this Sinclair guy, and the cousins of his who live in Oakdale, what brought LE to that cousin's house?

It's hard for me to imagine it gets that much lighter by the sun, but I suppose dark hair can get lighter from the sun, mine never has...

Day 9: No changes in case
Written by TP staff
Sunday, 05 April 2009

Crews suspended their search-and-rescue work this afternoon, and volunteers appeared to take a break. But the investigation continues.

Sgt. Tony Sheneman at a press conference last week. Glenn Moore/Tracy PressThe search for Sandra Cantu, missing nine days now, got quiet this afternoon, as search-and-rescue crews went home and volunteers finished the task of swapping out old fliers with new ones all over town.

But Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman, speaking at today's press conference at City Hall, said that doesn't mean the investigation into 8-year-old Sandra's disappearance has died down.

"We'll be working through the night on a couple of other things I can't talk about at the moment," he said. "We're still looking at a lot of people."

With no new search warrants, no arrests and no named "persons of interest," Sheneman said it may appear as though nothing is happening. In fact, he said, "In the last four days, we've had some of the best leads."

He did not offer any new information today, saying, "This is still categorized as a missing persons case," as opposed to an abduction, and, "Our concentration is still on finding Sandra."

On Saturday, the police department released an 18-second clip from a surveillance video at Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park, which shows Sandra skipping down the street on March 27, the day she was reported missing.

The release of the tape hasn't turn up any new leads, Sheneman said today.

The reward money for information leading to Sandra's whereabouts is at $26,000.

Anyone with tips is encouraged to call Tracy Crime Stoppers at 831-6847.

snip from Klaas quote above article:

how does he know this? unless they are pretty sure about certain people ? or what happened to her?
