Bret Edmond Lawless, 50, of Linden, Texas died Sunday, March 15, 2009, in Abilene, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the funeral home, with Revs. Buck Newsome and Ed Lawless officiating. Burial will be in New Colony Cemetery.

Mr. Lawless was born October 14, 1958 to Rev. Ed and Mary Lou Lawless, in Olney. He studied astrology and wrote poetry. He was an auctioneer, raised dogs, was a trader at Canton First Monday Trade Days and at the age of 12 he had his own merchandise in his parents' store. He was a non-denominational Christian.

Mr. Lawless is survived by his daughter, Tonya Kirby and her husband, Tracy, of Alba, Texas; his parents, Rev. Bret died in prison. There is alot more information about him such as confessing to murders in 2000 of his ex girlfriends daughter and her two kids, which DNA cleared him of.

So again, we have a Reverend without a church (ED) and I do not believe that is his given name. Who else was born around the time this Rev would have had to have been to have a child in 1958? Say 1938ish at the earliest?

Mt. Zion Cemetery is location  beside the  Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Highway # 79 East of Carthage to Shreveport; between DeBerry and Panola  Texas.   It is a large cemetery with the earliest marker   being 1855, some very old and very interesting gravestones.

Second, am I missing something in that paper? It's dated 1975, assumably, seven years prior (referencing some sort of infirmiry? ) he "returns" to this area and is "born again".  When I read that article, I get the impression that this Mom is telling people he had "repented" sufficiently. I cant find an obit though.

I thought the Mt. Zion reference was for the 3 Lawless Bros descendants and THEY are buried there, which would be about right.

If anyone can nail down the marriage date of Marilyn Short Tieken Lawless Gomes and Gary D Lawless in Ca, it might be telling. I asked Sister if that fits as well on the CA thread.

R.E. (Bob) CLARK, 72, died at 4:20 a.m., December 17, 1952 in the Antlers Medical Center. He was born July 9, 1880, in  Naples, Morris County, TX. Mr. CLARK was a Methodist by faith.

He was serving as Justice of the Peace for the Town of Antlers, an elective position which he filled for several years. He also served a number of years as City Marshal of Antlers, and at one time was deputy sheriff during Sam STEPHENS' administration.

Services for R.E. CLARK were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday,  December 19, 1952 in the First Methodist Church in Antlers. The Rev. O.L. Peek, pastor, officiated, assisted by Mr. Clark's grandson, Doyle LAWLESS, of Ft. Worth, TX. Burial was in  Antlers City Cemetery.

okay in my previoius post I was going to highlight the relationship in red, but every time I tried to, the page jumped all over and kept send me to the top of the page, so I could not make them red.  If someone can copy it and make the relationships red it would help to just glance and see it.  not sure why it is jumping all over on me. ugh.

other than the one sutton name and the one doyle middle name I have not yet recognized anything connected to cali or oregon lawless lines, nor the washington lines.  these seem to all be coming out of georgia, tennessee.  they say they are all "white", but it really looks to me they are traveling the old Native route.

hmmm something weird there.  whoever listed the obit did not want to list gary dee lawless as a son.  why not? maybe the hospital he was in was a mental institution?  ?  well at least we have more names to add to the genealogy, I will add them in today and see if we can find more conected to them.

who are you trying to find there?  his mother?  betty sue?  she is listed as betty sue lawless in the cemetery records, she's on the cemtery list which was posted and highlighted in red you will see her as "mother"

okay she divorces dee lawless april of 1969, and marries strickland jan of 1970.  then in 1973 she marries robert damas.  let me see if I can find a divorce from strickland and one from damas.  Maybe she went back to the lawless name before she died.  maybe someone in the damas family wrote up the obit and did not realize gary dee lawless, son, even existed?

Born in De Berry on December 30, 1947, he was the son of Dee H. and Betty
Sue Shadowens Lawless.  He was a boiler maker in construction work before
becoming disabled due to an auto accident.  Lawless had lived most of his
life in Panola County.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Betty Lawless of Carthage; two sons, Lance
of Overton and Bruce of Nacogdoches; and on brother, Steve Lawless of Carthage.

Notes for CHARLIE ERWIN LAWLESS:
After marrying Ella, Charlie and Ella initially lived in a small log house two miles southwest of Mt. Zion Church on the Shreveport highway. In about 1910, Charlie, Ella, and the family moved to Bliss, OK. After about two years, they moved back to Panola County. While in OK, Charlie and the children contracted typhoid fever, recovered, and returned to their original log home. Later, Charlie built a large home and planted a grove of pecan trees. notice one of the lawless above goes to OKLAHOMA for awhile, then returns.  also notice they are right by the shreivport highway, this is probably how they got from louisiana to texas, they are probably living right at the border.  where is de berry texas anyway? is it on the east side by the louisiana border?  I am guessing it is.

pulling this over from genforum post.  now we don't know how accurate any of this info is, so I will try to find as many documents as I can to confirm the info



A Joseph (8/12 yr.) was listed with the household of Margaret Lawless 34, GA in the 1860 Dawson Co GA census (p.12). The other children were Amos 10, James 9, and William 4.

I believe that Margaret Lawless was the Peggy Ann Sutton who married Wilbern/Lilburn/Wilhern Lawless (p.78 on 1850 Lumpkin Co GA census - b.1825) in Lumpklin Co GA in 1847. Calvin Lawless, also of Lumpkin/Dawson, married Nancy Sutton in 1849. Calvin Lawless became an estate appraiser with James Sutton which establishes a Lawless/Sutton relationship. In 1850, Calvin Lawless, 23, was on p.15 of the Lumpkin Co census as was James Lawless 65, VA. In 1860 and 1870, the elderly James was listed as part of Calvin's household.

James Sutton (b.1790 VA) of Lumpkin/Dawson Co GA, was married to Elizabeth (b. 1799 VA). Their documented children were Amos, James, Mary, Cynthia, Joseph, Theophilus, and William. Amos was born 1818 in VA. Other children as reflected on 1830 and 1840 records were born in NC and then GA. The only marriage that seems to apply to James and Elizabeth Sutton would be that in 1817 Washington Co VA for James SUTTON and Elizabeth LAWLESS.

Nancy Sutton Lawless and Margaret/PeggyAnn Sutton Lawless, if daughters of James and Elizabeth Sutton, would strengthen family ties between Lawless and Sutton families from VA.

In working with these Dawson Co families, it seems most likely that Calvin Lawless was a son of James Lawless. There is little record of Wilburn/Liburn who married Peggy Ann Sutton who was the mother of Joseph Lawless. He was in Dawson Co only on the 1850 census.

well I don't know what everyone else is researching at the moment, but I am still trying to find the missing gary d lawless born about 1933 who is the father of timothy lawless who has the 10 cts of sex offenses in sacramento california.  but to find him we have to go through all these lawless lines until we bump into him and his parents.  I figure if we find out which lawless line he hooks to, then we will know if timothy and melissa are related and could they actually know one another and be involved with one another.  However, because there are so many sex offenders in all of these lawless lines, it's also a question of how many of them actually know one another or are involved with one another, and how many connect to CLL's line.  The only way I know how to figure this out is to find out who they all are, how they are related and if they visit, know each other or what. 

what I am doing is trying to hook up timothy to the ronald sutton lawless line in los angeles/monrovia/san gabriel, because timothy's brother gary duane lawless shares a phone number with the x wife of ronald sutton lawless.  Now we have two sutton names in the texas line before they went to texas while they were still in georgia.  there is a gary dee lawless inn this texas line, but he was born 1947, so he can't be the missig father of timothy, but but it does not mean there is not another older gary in this line.

also the oregon/lawless roofing company line connects to the fresno california line, and there is a gary d lawless in that line also, but I have not had time to do any work do the fresno line.  there is also a gerald d lawless in the fresno line, and also a gerald d lawless in the washington Cll family line, but again no time yet to see if they are the same ones.. 

so everyone's guess is as good as mine as to what to research next LOL  right now I tryinng to figurure out if the suttons in this texas laswless line is the same sutton line for ronald sutton lawless in southern cali.

MH said at some point after Sandra was found she was familiar with the dairy farm the suitcase was found in. I wondered if she is familiar with a dairy farm in general  and there are quite a few in Grants pass. The closest thing I got to Saddle Mountain Cattle company was a Saddle Mountain Dairy in AZ. There is a Saddle MOuntain  in Oregon though, not sure if any of these other towns in Oregon are close by? anyway, just a thought of where she could have gone in Oregon and how that connects to Grants pass.

I just cannot find the parents/families of margaret peggy and sutton who married wilborn lawless, and Nancy sutton who married his brother calvin J lawless.  the suttons and lawless lines are coming out of georgia.  they are also in tennessee, then come into texas and one lawless goes to louisiana, but texas and the louisiana borders are close so they might not actually be that far from one another...

I will come back to these suttons later, I just can't find them.  It is POSSIBLE they are coming from Cherokee Nation.  some of them are falling the same migration patterns.

I have wondered about the sir gary lawless and gary d lawless and gary w lawless in belle plain and in wichita for some time now.  I just have not found anything in the records to be sure who this is.  I have some of the family members in a file, when I have time I will get that info, right now it is somewhere LOL.  I believe there is an andrew and a kyle in that family, I will have to look.

Anna L. Lawless

Anna L. Lawless, 93, of Salinas, a homemaker, died Monday at Hospice House in Monterey.
Mrs. Lawless was born Nov. 22, 1901 in Newkirk Okla. She was a fifteen year resident of Corning before moving to Salinas four months ago.
She was a gold Star Mother of World War II and a life member of the American Legion auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Corning.
Mrs. Lawless is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Keys of Wichita Kan.; a sister Dorothy Palmer of Corning; a brother Marvin Boyles of Anderson; 13 grandchildren, 34 Great-grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Jan 19 at the sunset Hills Cemetery in Corning. Healy Mortuary of Salinas is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to the Hospice of the Central Coast, 100 Barnet Segal Lane Monterey, 93940

I have not seen this one, but is very interestinnng.  let me get some info on the.  corning is in tehema county, which is timothy lawless line stomping grounds.  dorothy keys has to be a married name?  if her mother is lawless, unless she was married to someone else.  so is eorothy keys, dorothy lawless?  here is wichita kansas also.   anderson is shasta county wwhere temothy line also lived as did the lawless roofing compan y line.  please excuse my typos, this screen is jumpinng all over the place again, I can't see anything I am typing. ugh
