Hope you are feeling better JSM.  Northern Rose, I would love to be swimming in that nice pool with that cat and dog, I'm already hot  And I don't mean hot in a good way  Today will be taking more stuff off walls, and then the arguements will start, what will go to the Salvation Army, what will stay. Will it be violet or cottage rose, those are her options after fighting about a dark purple in the room. I like purple but it is going to look black on the walls, and we have already lived through years of punk rock attire, and things on the wall

I have not listened to all the interviews yet.  I think it is going to take some time as my brain starts screaming when I listen to some of them.   Nice day today so I think I am digging up the 156 hills of potatoes today.  If I am still alive maybe my carrots and leeks as well.    Sure felt like fall this morning. I noticed trees are losing leaves already.....and still NOT ONE ripe tomatoe.

I  just updated Jaycee thread.  Scumbag made music CD's singing about young girls.  The lyrics are exceptionally disturbing.

What do you to with all them taters?????

I got one ripe mater about the size of an egg so far.  And only about 5 more green ones.  Thank goodness my mom's are going crazy and she gives me ones she can't use. 

That whole Jaycee situation is so demented.  I'm not sure I'll catch up today. 

Enjoy the nice day, fall is here too.  I love fall, but that means winter is coming.

Last summer the pipes to the sink in the mudroom off the back entrance burst late one Saturday night.  As we were taking out all the water damaged wallboard, vanity etc. , we found we had bigger issues - black mold as the pinheads who built the house did not insulate the outside wall correctly and the vapour barrier was not sealed.  So it was no big surprise that the pipes got stressed over the years, but it turned into a huge home reno nightmare as the mold went upstairs in the walls  as well.  We have slowly been fixing things and have the upstairs back to normal and tested.  Mudroom back hall and bathroom are just at the painting stage.  So for the last year I have been buying all the pieces to rebuild - vanity, flooring, paint, tiles, counter, etc., the only thing I have not bought is the mudroom storage cabinets as we moved some walls around and I wanted to make sure I have the right dimensions when I figured out the cupboards/storage back there.   I just finished painting the bathroom  and the mudroom.  Hubby looked at it a week ago and tells me that the we should put in white laminate storage cupboards.

I tell you my head almost spun a full 360.  He has never stuck his nose into decorating and colours so at this stage to say that I almost flew off the handle.  The vanity in the bathroom is maple, all the woodwork is maple and he wants to smack in a white storage unit?  Not going to happen!

My mom still has a cold room in her basement.  Shelves and shelves of home canning, and a huge potato bin.  After I give my neighbours some and keep some for myself the rest are going into her cold room.  I visit with her weekly so it works well.

My grandma used to have a root cellar with a dirt floor.  Creeped me out to go in there to get jam.  RIP Grandma.

Northern Rose, what a mess that must have been, and the work and cost. When we lived in Wisconsin, we had a leak in part of the roof, then another, and it just went on and on, a mess, and costly. My husband stays out of decorating, but once in awhile he adds two cents, and I just look at him. When oldest son moved out to go live in the frat house when he was finishing off his degrees, it took me 3 days to reclaim his room.  It was almost empty when he took what he wanted.  The rest I dealt with, washed all the walls, steam cleaned the rug, patched the walls and painted in 3 days.  Then I moved in a bedroom suite that was my MIL's, added two lovely quilts, really nice curtains and extra coats etc. into the closet.  You would never know that 3 days before it was a young mans room with wall to wall posters of half naked woman, beer fridge and huge flatscreen TV.  He came back for a visit and opened "his room" door and stood there shaking his head.
