JSM's BEGGING FOR BAN THREAD #20 8/27/10 -

OMG hubs found where one of the outside cats had babies. He was so worried about the critters getting them. He brought them all in and now my bathroom is turned into a nursery.  There are 6 of them. 

Story of my life,  I have five kittens in the guest bedroom as we speak.  We found them at the recycle center. 

My kids tell us we are carzy.  I am glad to hear I am not the only one out there that has a kitty nursery going on.

We were part of a rescue group about 10 years ago.  My husband used to keep me grounded. Now I think he is almost as bad as me. 

Most of my cats are aging now.  So it is nice to have babies around.  They are so fun to watch. It sort of keeps you grounded to help animals. Gives me a purpose in life.

  That is how I feel about feeding the birds and Buddy, and they are also so comical to watch 

  How is Buddy doing?

Eating like a pig, give him a special blend with peanuts that I drop on the other side of the fence, then he goes running back over to the avocado field and sits on a fence and three other squirrels join him. Sometimes I just stand on the balcony and watch all the activity going on in that field, there is a huge tree that is not an avocado tree, and it is kind of spooky and haunted looking and little animals and birds are all around that area.

How cute. Sounds like he is the hunter of the group.  Isn't it fun to sit back and watch nature.

NRCG  Dont work to hard. We went up to 98 and then the storm JSM talked about came thur and it dropped down to 73.  It was wonderful. But tomorrow when the sun comes up it will be humid again.

It was nice to have the change in the weather Greeneyes. I thought it would stop but it thundered all night. Hope you aren't flooding or anything. Our streets are soaked here.

Ya we got lots of rain, thunder and lightening last night. It started about 2:30 and stopped about 6 or so. No flooding here. Glad you got some rest last night. That Josef is doing better today.

Glad there was no flooding, good though you got rain, it always makes things so pretty and green. Love those little kitties you are taking care of 

They are little terrors and into everything.  And little theifs They love pencils and pens. Someone left a pair of tweezers on the coffee table and I found them under the stove.

Good morning    I am getting everything to one side to bring by the curb tomorrow for the bulky pick up. I had to tell the lady what items, but going to sneak a few more items out there and hope they take them  You can only have four bulky items or up to 50 garbage bags, which seems stupid to me.

Do they count the bags?  Seems like they should pick up everything.

It is really fun to watch nature  I have no idea why they have it set up so weird to pick up bulky trash, just glad twice a year you are allowed to have it picked up.

That is so sweet you feed him special food. I love to watch squirrels, they are so cute.

Geen Eyes the kittens are adorable. I wonder why I never see kittens here. They must not survive with hawks, owls, raccoons and snakes. Just really upsets me I don't even know what sex the cats are but never see them together. They must live totally separate from one another.

NRCG whats no waste food? I have never heard of it before.

Good morning!  Just a quick note about trapping/neutering feral cats...  when I worked with a group that was trapping and neutering cats, the vet would clip one of the cats ears to indicate to anyone in the future the cat had been neutered.  I realize that the great majority of time once you trap a feral cat, it will won't go back in a trap again.  However, it has happened, and cats have been taken in to be spayed that had already been neutered.  Of course, some of these cats could have been neutered before they began living as feral cats too.  The clipped ear at least indicates neutering and that they've been seen by a vet sometime in their life. 

I have a cousin that was arrested a few years ago for the grave offense of feeding feral cats.     She was taking care of a colony of cats, trapping/neutering and etc.  There was an ordinance that forbade feeding the cats. 

When I lived in the middle east, there was no humane society in my area.  If someone called about a nuisance cat, dog or bird or found a cat, it went to PEST CONTROL.  And they would take them out to the desert to die.  A group of expats got together and we would foster animals, have fund raisers (garage sales & etc) and try to find homes for the animals.  Some times the animals were even shipped to the U.S. to homes or to sanctuary's in the U.S., like Best Friends in Kanab, Utah. That is the part of nature that really upsets me, here it is the hawks and coyotes and that darn road runner bird

You know with the regular food how there is always a mess left behind, empty sunflower seeds and seeds? The no waste, they can eat all of it and nothing is left behind, that way I never have to clean up the mess, and it comes in a variety of flavors.

Maybe since you think they might have been pets at one time they have been fixed or they are all males or females.  Wishful thinking on my part I know.

It started here around 7ish last night and then started back up around 3 or so this morning. I hope it has stopped because I really need a smoke break. 

I thought it was going south so hopefully you will be out of it soon.

It is sprinkling still, so we went to the bus stop. It is kind of chilly out there.
