Casey is going to be in jail, one way or the other, for at least a few years.  She has committed enough of a crime re the child to merit that.  I cannot see a jury being sympathetic to her at all.  At the very least, I think she would do five years.  If they build a murder or manslaughter case, it will be longer. 

Here is another point re the parents.  If my child were missing, even if I thought she were alive, I would be worried sick about what was happening to her.  In a worst case scenario, she would be the sex toy of a pedophile.  We all read those horror stories.  Or she could be subjected to sexual abuse for pay via child pornography.  At the least, she might bed neglected, left alone, physically abused, cold, afraid, etc. 

Death is terrible.  But having a missing child "out there" and alive is almost as bad.  Yet, they are laughing and cutting up a lot of the time.  Giving each other high fives.  Going about their business.  Bragging almost that they think Caylee is alive.  Well, if the child is alive, I daresay she is suffering.

Casey claims someone knocked her down and took the child.  They have claimed that Caylee and the whole family was in danger.  Yet they are giving each other high fives and going outside to argue with protesters?

Something smells worse than that damned car and it is their stories!

My feeling is, unless Caylee is found, I don't think we'll see a murder charge until AFTER she's convicted of her current charges and serving time. There's absolutely no doubt she'll do some time for the neglect. LE is in no hurry. They really have years to pull this all together once she's serving time on the neglect and other chrges.

Hope I'm doing this right-LOL!
I'd love to read this book, having known 2 sociopaths/psychopaths in my lifetime.  One was my ex-FIL, the other a wanna-be-boyfriend.  It's very freaky to find you've been followed around and someone has been "gathering" info on you from who knows where.  I never expected myself to be borrowing vehicles and following the FIL in disguise either.  Somebody had to do it though.  True sociopath he was, the affair and incest weren't his fault you know-PUKE!  The really scary part was that both of these guys' parents thought the sun rose and set in their little darlings.  Restraining order?-LE is picking on my poor son.  Ooooooh, puleez!  I immediately checked out a book by a police officer on the reality of protecting yourself from these kind of people...what an eye opener.

that is a country wide law.

no spouse can be force to testify against a spouse.

if they were divorced - that's another story. They can be compelled.
