Like I said, I think they probably know what happened to Natalee even if they weren't involved.  The probably had no idea how this would blow up and get so big, just as the police over there were not prepared for the US press.  I think they were protecting their friend and went with the security guard story thinking that would be the end of it, but now they are stuck in jail for something they may not have had anything to do with and it's time for self-preservation.

Maybe the reason the brothers lied because they've had to cover Joran's butt many times before...after all he was a "friend"...maybe covering his butt just became habit...they never realized covering his butt would actually come back to haunt them like this...

What if no body is found?  Can there be a conviction solely on circumstantial evidence in Aruba?  If so then perhaps the boys can count on that to get them off.

Food for thought....If Van Der Sleaze claims that the brothers and Nat dropped him home and than left that to me is pretty easy to prove as bullshit.....and here's why. So far I've seen Mrs Van Der Sleaze interviewed twice and not once did she ever simply say "My son is innocent because he was home" Now I'm no brain surgeon but if his story is true don't you think Mom would have said that right away??? I mean, look at the one gaurds wife/gf, the first chance she had to speak that was exactly what she told everyone.

a. Nat survived an hour at the lighthouse
b. N/J picked up and driven back to hotel north of HI - beach [forget the name]

What happened?  Would they have been in full sight of other revelers then?
