ORLANDO, FL -- The prosecution plans to use its rebuttal case Friday to attack testimony offered by Casey Anthony's mother about computer searches she claims to have made months before her 2-year-old granddaughter first disappeared.
The rebuttal phase of the murder trial comes a day after Anthony's defense rested without calling her to testify about the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Judge Belvin Perry ruled that electronic time card information from Cindy Anthony's employer can be introduced by the state to rebut testimony she made earlier. Cindy Anthony previously testified that searches made in March 2008 for "chloroform" and "how to make chloroform" were made by her and not Casey Anthony as the prosecution contends.

Casey Anthony's murder trial resumes this morning with prosecutors expected to present rebuttal witnesses to shore up any any damage they feel the defense may have done to their case against the young woman charged in her toddler's 2008 death.
On Thursday, Casey Anthony, 25, said she would not testify and her defense rested its case.
Now, the prosecution gets to present more witnesses and additional evidence.
They may call officials with Gentiva Gentiva Health Services. That is the company that employed Cindy Anthony at the time her 2-year-old granddaugter Caylee Marie disappeared in June 2008.

Anybody know what is in store today?  I hope closing arguments finish and they can start deliberating.  I do not foresee a lengthy deliberation process.  Gosh, I have thought guilty since day 1. 

The only thing that worries me is they will not see the duct tape now as a weapon, since they buried dogs with tape, but the tape was on her mouth and nose, not around a bag. 

All the other evidence, lying, partying, tattooing and screwing, has to add to her being dumped in the swamp with duct tape around her face and in triple bags, to show murder.  An accident would have been reported.  BS on this other stuff about ugly coping.  Give me a break.

This week chief judge Belvin Perry ruled Casey Anthony is competent to stand trial.

The decision came after three psychologists examined Casey at the request of her lawyers. Now, there are new questions emerging about whether that ruling could be used in an appeal.

me too zoo!  I actually don't want her to get the dp.  I'm not against it but I just want this monster to live long tortured life in a cage where people are better liars than she is, where there are no "boyfriends" to manipulate, no partying, no money growing on trees and more importantly no "audience".  Unfortunately I know she won't think of Caylee and of how her life could have been.  She'll won't wish she didn't do it - she'll wish she would have covered her tracks better.

I just had to laugh at Carpe's comments yesterday, about George should have been out looking for his granddaughter, and not buying guns and hanging out with Krystal-Slash from Guns n Roses.  ::MonkeyHaHa::     And apparently he spelled "crazy" with a K in his suicide note? I haven't been able to read it. I took my kids to the pool yesterday afternoon and missed everything that happened after the court recessed for lunch.  Skyfire had a real problem connecting for me. :(  I'm gonna go look for it now.

Good Morning, there was just a segment on Today (NBC) with Tracy McLaughlin, a woman who monitored Casey during her release. Interesting interview. I didn't find it online yet. She said Casey was treated like a war hero upon coming home. She pointed reasons she believes the chloroform story. Hope someone can post it soon, good interview

I'm so looking forward to the State's impeachment of Cindy's work testimony! I pray this is a good day for Justice For Caylee!!!   ::justice2NJ::

I believe yesterday that the State said that their rebuttal case would take about a day. They handled some of their case yesterday and my guess is that they will finish up today and then court will break early so that the defense and State can finish up their closing arguments which will take place tomorrow.

Barring some bizarre set of circumstances, one never knows with this case, the Judge should provide instruction to the jury on Saturday and them deliberations begin.

Is this going to happen today, CBB?

JP has given the defense time to have their own experts examine the records and to request more of their own from Gentiva, I think. So no, I wouldn't think it would happen today. I'm not sure if they'll split up what they have and what they hope to get or not. Whenever it happens, though, I don't want to miss it!!  ::MonkeyDance::

Sure will. How do you write that many pages of a suicide note and not mention details that the Defense is accusing George of. There is a reason why the Defense never wanted this doc to be put into evidence and then these dunces referenced his suicide under direct and in it came as Ashton drove a Mack truck thru that opening.

The Defense was making accusations of some one committing suicide because of a guilty conscience, yet not one word in note that would back that up.

Does anyone remember from Cindy's depositions if she said her Cockers died from cancer.  I have a feeling she threw that in there because they died at home.  I feel very strongly that Casey was the reason for many pet deaths in the Anthony home.

George did show a guilty conscience in his letters, but not regarding Caylee's death.  This defense team is head shaking stupid.  Oh how I wish Casey's thefts could have come into evidence.  Seems to me that CJBP and the State spared Baez from many things that would have tightened the rope around Caey's neck.  Baez should be forever grateful.....but that will never happen.

The GENTIVA folks are going to bury Cindy's testimony of her doing the searches.

Trust me I work for and have in the past worked for large Health Care co's that have government contracts. The IT depts are huge and at any given time I could see who was on, when they logged on, in out and from where. VPN allows us to log onto serves from home or remote sites, you can tell that there is a difference between work at home and in office.

Also, any key stroke you take that accesses an application such as email, time reporting system, etc attaches your ID to it and only you have the PW to that ID. Its a Hipaa violation and against every compliance policy & procedure to share passwords.

IT is like DNA ... you cannot even imagine the type of info that can be extracted to see what people are doing and what they did in the course of a day for productivity purposes and to be HIPAA compliance.

Cindy is toast.

You are correct. His guilt was for not doing enough for Caylee and failing her ... not taking part in her death and discarding her in a swamp.

George is flawed, as are we all ... but he is no molester or murderer.

George is wracked with guilt, IMO, because he didn't save Caylee from Casey.

I'm glad you understood what I was saying about Caylee's death....after I reread my post, I didn't think I was clear on my message.  Whew!

Hooray!!!   Justice for CAYLEE is one day closer!!! Good morning Every one of you smart monkeys!!! I am so glad I was able to watch yesterday and that I can again today, as well!! That "come hither" pic of casey and the law student just blew me away!!! I cannot imagine that after all this time the idiot inmate has NO CLUE what is going on...or else she is the most insane person ever!! Who would act like that at their own murder trial for the murder of their own beautiful little girl????? I know she is not insane...3 docs said she is not..but OMG I just can't believe she acted like that!!!

I really hope after this is all over and Casey gets THE DEATH PENALTY, the law goes after both George and Cindy for all the obstruction they did.  Yes, they are grieving grandparents, BUT they messed with evidence, lied their pants off (George literally) and did everything possible to help Casey go free.   This cannot be, laws are there for a reason, this case has been seen all over the world and will be used in future cases. If they let the parents skate, people everywhere will think it's OK to do and will site the Anthony Trial.  You cannot pick and choose what laws you uphold and which ones you think is ok to break if a person is upset.

Yes, I believe this lady was telling the truth here...not out for money alone like many in this case.  She was innocently nervous. 

He wasn't perfect, and it sounds like there was dysfunction in the family that he owns up to..  he probably feels like he should have done something different as a dad because of the way Casey was brought up, and how she ended up... and with Caylee being dead, he sees the extent of how messed up his daughter really was.  I think any parent would feel that way.   (Cindy was in such denial that she wasn't feeling this as strongly, perhaps).  Dads and daughters are supposed to be close.  The relationship between daughter and father is where we supposedly learn how to have relationships with other men.. boyfriends, husbands, etc..  look how Casey turned out? That can't be a good sign. How much of that is George fault? I guess we'll never really know or understand.    But somewhere along the way, things went way wrong.  The saddest part of all of this is that a poor little innocent child had to pay for it.

Yes, Yes, and Yes!!!

Several months ago, we got a computer virus at the office. I panicked because we have our own server within the office and every bit of our billing records and most of the patient records depend on that server. Within 2 hours, I knew exactly how the virus came in, which computer it came in through and from what website. Additionally, I was able to see search histories for 2 years and who did them. I knew who spent time on sports sites, facebook, etc. and at a glance how often employees were surfing the internet. I knew dates and times. My business is just small and I'm sure Gentiva has a far more sophisticated set up than we do. They should be able to determine if Cindy worked the day the searches were done from home.

I think George knew exactly what Casey was, he just didn't feel she would harm Caylee. There was much discord between him and Casey and I feel it's because he tried to stand up to her, punish her for her actions, but Cindy wouldn't allow it.  Casey said herself that they had a broken relationship.  I give an immense amount of blame to Cindy, the evil enabler.

CAYLEE DESERVED SO MUCH MORE!!!! I am glad that her JO-JO did finally do the right thing and stand up for her...Cindy will eventually GET IT and start putting the blame where it belongs...I lost my former hubby to a helicopter crash...that was 22 years ago...I am remarried, kids grown with kids of their own, and I still think about him and miss him and what we had together!! His mother went off the deep end though and told her only daughter that she wished the daughter had died instead of Kenny because it would have been easier to take...why would any mother say such a thing? The daughter was 25 with 3 yr old twin daughters at that time..THAT blew me away too...wonder how you make amends for something like that?

My husband's mother is like that...she has said awful crap to her kids. Hubby has healed from it but stays away from her. All she'd have to say is she's sorry for the harm she's caused though, and that she'll work harder on their relationship, and that's all he'd need. I wondered when or if this would be brought up. When a skull doesn't have any tissue or brain/brain matter in it (totally skeletonized)  and has been through 6 months of the open elements/weather, etc., there is no need to cut the top of the skull off as in a regular autopsy. I screamed at Doc Spit when he was on TV more than once during his testimony.  ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!

8:53am Fri, July 1, 2011 Court is in session. Jury is not present.

Warning:  This is not a transcript or verbatim.  They were all upset and were talking over each other, I got as much as I could get without adding anything.

Judge says I understand that you have some issues to be brought up early Mr Baez?

Baez is talking about having a stipulation with Gentiva.  They knew about her being salaried and what she was going to testify to.  Gentiva was deposed yesterday and Ms Sims said she asked to talk to the state computer experts and they haven't talked to her.  He also said that computer experts Osbourne and Stenger have new expert opinions they are going to give and they are not in reports. There is also someone waiting to testify outside that doesn't have a report.  That there is someone else coming to testify without a report.  Baez says, lol, that they have lived up to there end and they expect the state to do so too.

Ms Anthony said during her testimony other things that were not in her depot and she has had them checked out.  She has informed Mr Baez of what the computer witness said, it is in rebuttal to Ms Anthony's testimony. The experts say that Ms Anthony did no key word searches and she did not engage in a remote log in.

This task they would have to do would take 2 days worth of work, we would of like to of been able to have our expert go in and look at this work.  We don't know what software they used, or how they did this.  They could of placed us on notice but they didn't they waited till our case was closed.  I told the state yesterday that this is not what the discovery order said and this is not fair.  Not fair, not fair.  I need to see what there expert opinions are in a report and then have my experts look in to it.  Here was the big issue that I got into trouble with, new opinions that are not in trouble with.  The court was firm on this all along. 

Jeff is saying that Dr Goldburger will state that there is nothing in the sediment that was washed in the brain cavity.  Dr Spitz said you had to open a skull for it to be protocol.  There is nothing in Caylee's skull to indicate the brain dust that Dr Spitz talked about. 

Baez is up........

He is saying there experts are not forensic pathologists and should not be allowed to testify about what is protocol in an autopsy.  Baez wants the rules to be the same for each side.  He is getting very upset about being ambushed. 

Jeff is up.........

He is saying that this is not a surprise that opening the skull being protocol was wrong.  Baez is wrong on this matter. 

Baez is up.......

Dr Warren can not talk about organic matter in the skull, he is a toxicologist. 

Judge says the bottom line Mr Baez says that I will give you the balance of this morning to take a depot but we will be here tomorrow and Sunday.  Baez says he wants their testimony to be excluded.  Both sides asked for tomorrow off to prepare closings but we will work tomorrow and back her Sunday and Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday.  You are saying your surprised and I will allow you to take a depot.  I want to read these reports and find out that is in the report.  Jeff says it is in the report.  Baez says just the brain washes are in the report.  The expert is saying that there is NO BRAIN MATTER from decomp, not that it is.  Judge is tired of this and just wants a copy of the report. 

Jeff is mad and raised his voice when Baez said he admitted there are expert opinions that are not in the report.  Judge is mad now and says this better not be an imaginary problem, these jurors are ready to return to their homes.

Judge says we are in recess, subject to recall.  While Baez takes depositions.  Judge brings up a matter about Dr Rodriguez and tells them to be ready to work later this evening.  The judge said he doesn't care what you all do folk's in reply to Jeff asking if they can work tandem to Baez taking depots.  Court is in recess and the Judge walked out very upset.

One of my favorite sayings is, "How dumb can you get and still breathe?" Baez is proving one can get pretty dumb and still breathe. Ugh.

I mentioned the other day that she does it a lot. Remember the fugly sweater day?....same deal. She has done it since I first saw her on TV re: this case. I used to tie mine on the side, lol.

And with Gentiva, how were they supposed to know that Slores incubator was going to lie and they would need to rebut her lie?  She never said in 3 years she made those searches on that day when her work records show she was at work.

Bozo is in way over his head now..this is going to be imaginary problems that his magical thinking can't change and the judge is going to be even more pizzed.

Why didn't they just do a proffer like they have before..let Baez ask what he wants then one he sees what the man is going to testify to..the shinny light at the end of the tunnel is that Baez cannot introduce any new witnesses at this point.  So they are stuck with what they have done...

It was popular to tie them in the back, way back when I was like 19-21! I'm 40 now. LOL.

I have a feeling this recess/deposition isn't going to take very long.  Baez will realize there really isn't anything new and if he pushes it he will be disbarred for sure (although I think he's likely in jeopardy anyway).

What he really needs to be concentrating is his closing considering that he unethically put forth serious allegations in his defense opening (which the defense is never obligated to do) that he said he would prove & he has ZELCH in the way of proof, not only on the criminal act of disposing of a body or hiding a body for profit but sexual molestation allegations.   He doesnt give a hoot about his client, never has...he cares about fame & fortune as well as the fact that he lost his case-in-chief, no way around it.   Right now, this is about his ego, he got in trouble with more to come & all he's been concentrating is getting the State in trouble & battling with witnesses by trying to make them suspects with NO SUBSTANTIVE PROOF.  Casey will be convicted, all it is a matter of is if it will be first degree felony murder or second...not even a chance for manslaughter IMHO because he did NOT prove an accident occurred nor did his client offer an explanation 3 years later.   There is a reason she didnt beg to tell the truth upon her initial arrest and now....she is GUILTY

I hope the rebuttal expert says that was the norm 30 yrs ago but with new technology over the last ten years or with new studies etc. to show how ancient this guy is in his thinking.  Does he realize its been proven the earth is round?

The arguments I heard about the opinions on the skull wash, and not opening the skull seemed to me to be appropriate to be made by those who are going to give them.  And I am by no means knowledgeable in those areas.  Baez is just wasting time! 

I hope to goodness the judge doesn't end up granting them "days" to run the same computer tests that the state has had run.  Baez knew Cindy was going to lie, and it's ridiculous to even think that those lies wouldn't have been checked in to!

The case against Casey Anthony is in an indefinate recess while attorneys continue their work.

The prosecution only had a handful of other witnesses to call a day after Casey Anthony's defense rested in her murder trial without calling her to testify.

Friday started with legal matters regarding time card information & computer documents from Cindy Anthony's employer.  It appears this issue will be central for the rebuttal by the state.  They want to know whether or not Cindy was at work when these chloroform searches occurred.

They cannot prove it.  You will see.  It was a transaction that could have been done after work, at her break, Beotch could have made the transaction.

Mr. LIppman said she said she never did those searches on that day last night on TeeVee.  I will have to look for an article. 

They cannot disupte corporate records that show her logged in at her computer, sending/recieving/deleting emails at the time the searches were beign done. 

They also now did otehr keyword searches for chlorphyll and other terms Cindy said she searched for on that computer and NONE WERE FOUND. 

If they had any proof that she was at home durign the day adn time of those searches, they would not be fighting so hard to keep it out.

As far as I understand it, she was salaried so it would seem to me that she'd get paid whether or not she was there the whole day.

I think that Jose has shown us that there are a lot of people that don't understand “the law of natural consequences.”  Natural consequences arise a lot if you intentionally take a risk or break a rule.  If I speed on the highway, I know that, statistically, I’m not likely to be caught.  However, I also know that, if I’m caught, I have no recourse.  “You pays your money, and you takes your chances.” Casey is learning about hard information and never had anyone to give her trustworthy information.  I do believe she killed her animals, they meant no more than her own child to her..So now she is the one that killed her own daughter and throws herself at the mercy of the court because she’s has no daughter.  Most of us think there are answers to everything but somethings have no answers.. She killed her pets and her own child because she is evil, nothing more and nothing less..  I know people that believe it was an accident and I just say again, that makes a lot of sense, so if you find me dead, you will ride around with my body in the trunk, while you have a great time and then when I stick too bad, you throw me in the swamp after making sure my mouth is taped shut with duck tape..  I think we have to fear for people that have no common sense on the jury because I do believe there are many in the world that don't see evil when it does exist.

ITA..just turn the air off to her holding cell..and I am sick of the attorneys being able to sit in there with her..leave her there by herself let her stew in the heat.

I don't for a minute believe that all those animals were KC's 'pets'.  They were George and Cindy's pets.  For KC they were competition for attention and affection and a means to punish/hurt her parents when they didn't do what she wanted.  I wonder how many times KC fought with her parents and then a pet died?  I'll bet more than once.

And as I suggested yesterday, she said she does NOT have a brain tumor!!!  She said seizure disorder and Vinnie interrupted.

Just sharing a little...

I have some experience with payroll working for a hospital many years ago, "salaried" typically means that you receive the same amount of pay each month but you are still expected to work "X" amount of hours on "X" amount of days.  If you don't work those hours, and you don't use some type of approved leave (sick time, vacation time, comp time) you can be docked for leave without pay.  You are also compensated for "overtime" either with pay or time off equal to time and a half of the hours of overtime worked.  Granted that all employers don't follow the Federal laws about overtime, but most companies don't want to risk a smack down for not following those laws.

The hospital I worked for was a government agency (research hospital) the amount of the salary per month was calculated by the total number of hours the employee should work in the year multiplied by the hourly rate of pay and divided by 12 months.

Usually the only people that don't have to fill out a time card, and are exempt from the overtime laws are administrators, not regular employees.

it is not correct...if she knew that she was going to the bank and then to pick up the car (it takers more than an hour) she must have to ask for permission or submit a document requesting vacation or sick time. She propably abandoned the work and in order to cover Casey's crime had to stay longer at her house. I guess she knew people were asking for her after hours or not being in her office, so she went back work to tell her drama to justify the time was not at work or because she really wanted to be released so she could clean the monster's car. I think her boss made a mistake not asking her to provide a leave request...or maybe her boss wasn't aware of the situation or the timekeeper is her friend and made her a favor for that day......

I worked for Gentiva for 4yrs...even if a supervisor told you to take of rest of day someone filled out a form/req. for time off slip for you.  It just doesn't happen that they forget to document.  They document everything!  Big, big no-no not to document.  Funny thing is is Cindy dealt with co compliance everyday.  She knew protocol there and they DO pay overtime and she never, ever would have been told to mess around with her time or try to balance it out so no overtime is shown.  In fact, go look at her time records we have on the other thread...she has overtime quite a lot!!  Lying sack of poo poo!  The computer searches were 3 or 4,2008 weren't they?  She wouldn't even need to know to lie back then.  Wouldn't need to lie till Caylee actually missing.

The way I remember it, when she returned to work, her bosses had to insist that she go home.
The way some companies have their attendance set up in FL, is you log into a computer and it records the time you sign in to work.
If you don't physically log back in, you're considered present until you log out for the day.
As far as the days in March she claims to have been at home, there is probably evidence that she was at work via her work computer activity.
I'm only speculating like everyone else. We won't know until we hear it from the Gentiva people.
I work for a small company, clock in and out, but because of a "deal" I have with my employer, I get paid for a full day, even if I work for 10 minutes. Don't know how they set this up with payroll, but my check is constant every pay day.

when your boss tells you "you can leave early" it doesnt mean that you will not fill it out the proper leave request. my FIL died last year and the director told me that I could leave early, they also offered me to take me home....I left early that day but I filed out 3 hours of vacation time, i didn't use death in family time because I wanted to use those 3 days for the funeral.
Always everything is documented, the company knows where every single penny go!! ....

I think the penalty phase starts immediately following the verdict, and that this jury will be sequestered until it's ALL said and done.

Exactly my point..and I think that her boss probably covered her letting her go by making her own notations as to why Cindy was so Helter Skelter being there, gone, being there and then gone again...so I think although Lippman may feel it is an issue it won't be. It is in her supervisors depo and co workers depo from long ago about her being there and leaving and then coming back and being sent home to take care of her issues with Casey.  So I do not see how there are any points to be made other then they paid her for her full day...has nothing to do with her lying about not being where she said she was in March.

Does anybody remember what all these talking heads were saying during the Scott Peterson trial?  They had even less evidence and got murder 1. 

That is the bottom line - he will drag this out as long as possible. What his in-experience doesn't know is the jury will be blaming the defense for all of them although they are not given that information. He has been so disruptive and the natural inclination of a jury is to blame the defense since they see them in court stalling and asking unnecessary questions.(even worse in this case)  If he is smart he will get those depositions done in an hour and get back in there because if they miss their holiday, it will cost him.

 Last night Dr. Gupta subed for Anderson Cooper on his 360 show and Sanje showed a video of Casey when she was 6 years old, attending a birthday party. Don't know if any other monkeys saw this.

One thing that caught my attention is how out of place Casey looked with those large, pearl pierced earrings.

Can't imagine a six year old wanting to do that. Why would Cindy want to do that to her little girl?

They were sure he would be acquitted or a hung jury because they just kept saying the prosecution did not prove their case.

She also acted like she was on the outside looking in too. I noticed she was watching but not being a part of the group. I am betting that has been her whole life behavior.

If this has been discussed please forgive me. I have had the computer on, but haven't had time to read the posts consistently.

Could this be a problem for the prosecution? Apparently Gentiva has had problems with OT pay and compensation. I read a couple of articles on it and it seems to be a suit brought primarily by Gentiva visiting nurses, so it would not apply to Cindy as an office person. BUT, if they did have OT issues with the visiting nurses, then that may be an indication of other violations. I think Cindy is lying about doing the computer searches and this lawsuit over FLSA violations seems like it could support her testimony.

AND, this is just curiosity on my part, but why is George no longer in LE or a deputy? I know he moved to FL from Ohio, but the closest he has been to LE work has been a security guard?

Watching River's testimony in court.  What I find interesting and so typical of Anthony's is that River's says she slept with George and Cindy doesn't even look up from her writing.  No reaction whatsoever from Cindy.  That's not normal.  This whole family is so dysfunctional...no reactions to stuff. 

George denies everything..but he says he went over to her house to comfort her.  Pleeease.....he's not a 20 year old guy...he knows it's wrong for a man to go to a woman's house, period.  I don't like River at all, but I don't believe George one bit.  We know Cindy lied on the stand and I believe George has, too.  All the lying is just putting Casey in the pokey anyway, so why not tell the truth?

Good morning monkeys!  Apollies in advance for a long post.  One thing's for sure, this trial has more twists than a roller coaster!  ::MonkeyEek::  ITA that Cindy is so toasted.  We've been reading Bible proverbs and we're amazed at seeing them being proven repeatedly throughout this case.

• Proverbs 15:12 "A mocker resents correction; he will not consult the wise." -Baez
• Proverbs 15:7 "The lips of the wise spread knowledge [Prosecution]; not so the the hearts of fools [Defense]."
• Proverbs15:14 "The discerning heart seeks knowledge [Prosecution], but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly [Cindy]."

I take issue with Baez' statement today concerning the Defense's computer experts. Didn't he say they didn't have any?  IMO, this was an intentional set-up.  He knew Cindy would be testifying to computer searches for chloroform, he had also planned to call her as a defense witness, and he knew she was going to lie because as he himself said, "The state should have expected it.".  So what does he do?  He releases their computer expert(s).  Notice he also didn't deny knowing she was going to turncoat. As for the state's rebuttal with the Gentiva work records, to quote his own words,"The defense should have expected it.".  I think they did, they just didn't pursue it because it would provide them a much-needed delay to attempt to regroup.  It's very obvious by now that Baez flies by the seat of his pants. He's lazy.  He waits to see what the opposition has and then scrambles to try to defend.  He doesn't want to work. As far as I'm concerned, Baez being Casey's chosen lawyer is divine retribution.  She chose someone who's: as lazy as she is; money-hungry; lying; deceptive; uses people to suit his needs; disrespects authority; egotistical; cheats; and plays Casey, just like she played so many other people. Casey's reaping in a lawyer what she sowed.  Just in case anyone wonders, I'm not judging the man, I'm judging his fruit (his words, behavior, and work).  All my own opinion.  I can't figure out though why Sims would attach herself to this farce of a defense team.  I can somewhat understand Finnell (the most professional Defense person), as she has an anti-DP agenda to try to advance.  Mason apparently underestimated the state and assumed the DT would be able to create reasonable doubt/punch holes in the chain of custody/impeach witnesses/all of the above.  In the end, they just shot themselves in the foot, so to speak.

As for Cindy, well "...the mouth of the fool feeds on folly.". What more can I say? Her foolishness astounds me.  It's rare in my world to see someone so bent on self-destruction.  I hope she gets some counseling while she's in jail for perjury. ::MonkeyWink:: Casey learned early to lie and manipulate and Cindy failed to put the breaks on the runaway train.  I say Cindy because she assumed responsibility for Casey each time she blew off George's suspicions/findings. Cindy's self-esteem was wrapped up in her own farce of family life and everybody paid for it, Caylee most of all.   Don't expect Cindy to take responsibility for any of this though.  She's so narcissistic, aside from intervention from God (seriously), I doubt she'll admit her shortcomings to herself or anyone else.  In essence, she taught Casey that appearances are more important than truth.

George needs to find a good counselor for some individual counseling. He did not kill Caylee, that choice was solely Casey's. I found it interesting that he felt compelled to "remind" Cindy in the suicide note that he had tried to bring up concerns about Casey/lies by Casey/Casey stealing lots of times, only to be shut down by Cindy. Even in his grief and under the influence, he rightfully attributed responsibility for that to Cindy. That told me to his core, he would not take the fall for Casey. Of all of them, George loved Caylee the most.  Caylee accepted him for who he was, didn't belittle or demean him, didn't throw his failures in his face, and didn't make him a scapegoat.  He, in turn, didn't make demands of Caylee as a trophy child, an accessory to be alternately adored and ignored, a performer. They simply enjoyed each other. As far as River goes, what does having an affair have to do with Casey killing Caylee? George may or may not have said it was an accident that snowballed.  He wasn't saying that from knowledge (as evidenced by his suicide note which pre-dated his "talk" with River).  If he said it, he was desperately trying to convince himself that his daughter could not have done such a horrendous thing.  As time went by, the LE officer in George suspected things weren't adding up with Casey's story, but the Dad in him couldn't fully go there.  Unlike Cindy, George does have a conscience and shows remorse in his note.

I agree...over the top.  Last night Sanje said Casey was six, in the video. I thought she looked older. Now they say she was only five. She was so attentive, followed directions to repeat her name and spoke quite clearly. For a five year old?

I agree with you on that Turbo. Sometimes it seems he is driven to just delay things. It makes you wonder if those book, movie deals are true and the only way he gets them is if he can get her acquitted. To me he seems to be milking the money from the state of FL for which I am a resident and trying to delay the inevitable. He enjoys his "celebrity" status or at least the status in his mind.

Maybe "clearly" wasn't all I meant. She spoke with such poise, sounding so much like she did when addressing the judge at her check writing apology and again, yesterday, when she spoke about agreeing with Finell.

I think she does it to antagonize KC. It really pisses KC off when they are talking like that if you watch her.

I think she's proving what a professional attorney looks and acts like, showing professional courtesy at all times in the courtroom.  To be outwardly rude would be less than professional. She knows the game Baez is playing with his personal attacks and she's basically piling burning coals on tops his head (making him look even worse for being so nasty to such a nice person-LOL). She's a lady and a pro, through and through. I would bet she extends the same courtesy to all of her legal opponents.  JMO  From what I'm hearing, she's a class act and highly respected by her peers (unlike Mr. Baez). Not to worry.

The lady next to me starts laughing and says "What did Bozo do now?! What's happening? I'm so mad I'm missing it!" Turns out she's just as hooked as us, and follows it on findcaylee....something. All the men were laughing, but that lady and I got it all talked out. They call Casey Mooseface, and River Cruz is Riverboat Cruise, as in "all aboard, boys!"

Been lurking lately, believe Monkeys are so smart.

No Family is perfect, but this one is so very sad. Cindy wears the pants in this family and has enabled Casey by sticky sugar coating shenanigans and never allowing life's consequences to teach what is normally learned. George for a man has no backbone. As the head of the household he was *****whipped and weak at best. Perhaps why he couldn't cut it as LE. Gambling, anger, womanizing....who knows? Lee with his issues whatever they may be are a direct result of his dysfunctional family. He had a poor father and a very overbearing mother who was preferential toward Casey, no wonder he has issues.
The Anthony's have been so worried about outward appearances they neglected to fix any problem they encountered with Casey. Note even Lee was excluded. When Caylee was born they swept everything under the rug hoping if they ignored the past all problems would be forgotten,until they noticed things were not as they should be. By then it was too late. Casey had learned from Cindy, she ran the show. Couple that with her being a nonfeeling, self serving excuse for a human, you have this tragedy even Shakespeare couldn't write.
Is family disfunction a defense? Casey is an adult who has been deemed competent to stand trial.
We Monkeys know far more than the jury. But in the end, the lies, the lack of remorse, where they found the body, the cry acting, the duhfense legal tactics, and all the jury saw will finally get justice to Caylee. I truly believe all things happen for a reason. We may not understand now why, but they do. IMHO
I do hope that all those who lied get what they deserve. I pray no one will profit from this child's death. I pray the duhfense team will be forever tarnished and prov-en to be no more than ambulance chasers, and fame seekers and ultimately sanctioned for their arrogance.

My youngest was like that. He could speak in full sentences when he was a year old. People would talk to him just to get him to speak. He is 15 now and all his friends call him "the wordsmith," so I guess he was destined to be a speaker. He took a public speaking course at the university this year in dual enrollment and aced it.

Your memory is certainly better than mine!  I remember this now. I do not like to make a determination on just this one small clip, but I wonder if she was a reserved child and not as animated as we now know she can be. The quiet child is often left out of things and not necessarily on purpose. Other children begin playing and laughing and just don't notice someone is feeling left out.

Here lies the problem. Cindy coerced Casey into having Caylee. Casey did not want to be a mother. She did not want to accept the responsibility. Casey wanted Caylee adopted. Cindy made a huge mistake.

Thinking over your comment here.  For what it's worth, we read from Rick (Cindy's brother), Cindy was treated like the Princess in her family. Not sure if she always treated Casey that way or after Lee had his run in with Accutane. If Lee had Asperger's/highly functional autistism, it may be that Cindy "pinned her hopes on Casey". I get the impression Lee was always second fiddle to Casey because the family seems to revolve around her. It comes across as Cindy treating Casey as an extension of herself, a trophy child to make Cindy look good. I think there was a ton of turmoil in that family caused mainly by Casey and Lee was the anchor, the responsible first-born. He had a steady job, paid for a car, had his own place, had a steady girlfriend (Mallory),etc.  Casey, on the other hand, was:  emotionally volatile; mooching off family & friends; no job; bouncing from one boyfriend to another (with spares on the side); moving from one group of friends to the next; living to party; and stealing the parents blind.  Lee's been emotionally carrying that family far too long, which prompted George to apologize to him repeatedly in his suicide letter. thanks for the tidbits of info...  i had to run out and buy my daughter's friend a birthday present.    Looking at that video of Casey, it just makes me think.  We have no idea what will become of our lives.  We have no idea how people will turn out... where their lives will take them.  I'm sure her parents watch that video and just shake their heads. It's really sad.

I agree this is a likely scenario. It was like Cindy's way of having another go at raising a girl. AND..this is also why I think there was no seeking out the father or child support. (Even if it was the guy who died, they had plenty time before that) I think Cindy didn't want anyone else having control. And a father who pays child support wants some sort of visitation, or even custody or joint custody.

When I was about 10 I asked my pastor if there were people who were born soulless and just put here for the sanctification of others.  He was totally shocked at my question and said "of course not."  I have asked that many times over the years because the Bible says we have the knowledge of right and wrong in our being but is that just some people or all people?  Are there soulless entities which roams this earth as a roaring lion (as the Bible describes) seeking out persons to destroy? If you watch this case you would think so because these people have destroyed everyone around them.

Sadly, you are right. I am still afraid he's going to do something to purposely cause a mistrial. He knows he's done. I just noticed yesterday in a video of opening statements that when Bobo said Caylee drowned in the pool, CM looked up as if maybe he wasn't expecting that. Maybe he was just listening, but I dunno anymore. I don't trust JB.

Every time I hear some talking head talk about the poor Anthony's and what they have been through I could scream...WTF!!!  No, GA didn't suddenly decide to stand up for Caylee.....GA decided not to be labeled as a sexual abuser......he decided not to say HE found Caylee in the pool and carried her lifeless body to KC...he knows if that had happened he would have performed CPR and called 911...it is all about GEORGE it is NOT about Caylee.

Cindy has been and will continue to LIE for KC.....however, she is not going to through LEE under the bus......I think given the chance she would throw GA to save KC's miserable life.  When KC is sentenced Cindy will be the ONLY family member to put money in her account and go visit her.

I have not seen or heard of ONE FAMILY MEMBER attending the trial to be a support for GA or CA...OR FOR KC!!!!!  Lee has only been there when he HAD to be there...he admitted he was not working....so he COULD be there if he chose to...HE CHOSE NOT TO BE THERE

As carpe said last night...they are despicable and may Caylee haunt them for the rest of their miserable lives.

Without getting into too much biblical debate, I would just say that I don't believe anyone is born souless. Now, whether they are born wired incorrectly (like being a serial killer) that might be possible. But that is not because God wanted them that way...simply because that's part of living in a fallen world. Like disease. God never intended sickness. Anyway, the roaring lion describes satan. And I do believe in satan and demons, which are souless, and they can inhabit man. But I think they must be allowed in because of some sin. I don't think there's a demon around every corner, though. So, again, I don't want to get into a debate. This is just simply moho. Thanks.

Yeah, more like his credibility would belie any testimony he gave. LOL

I don't know either but my daughter reminds me of Casey with the lying, Her dad use to be the same way & I would call him out on every lie that I knew was a lie until he finally caught on that I would keep calling him on it no matter who we were in front of now I do the same thing to her. I just don't understand why people have to lie about the smallest things.

Let me add to my one word post.  I think KC gave her soul to satan.  I believe we have two choices...give our soul to God or it's satan's for the taking.  Some people make no choice to belong to God, some willingly give over to satan.  KC gave her's away for the lie of a Bella Vita.  That is my personal opinion and I don't expect anyone to accept it, refute it, or even read it.

I agree but that was an adult decision and she looked soulless in the eyes even as a child. I have known a number of people like that over the years.

ITA with you!  You know it had to be.  To Casey, Caylee was Cindy's mini me in appearance as well as the way Cindy treated Caylee.  It appears nothing was too good for Caylee from the looks of her room, her toys, her clothes, and her backyard playground.  I think Casey really resented all the stuff that Cindy bought for Caylee, while she was "expected" to have a job.  Cindy's refusal to confront Casey and hold her responsible was foolishness gone to seed.  IMO, Casey began barreling over Cindy at a young age and Cindy was so desperate to keep her perfect family fantasy, that she just lied/denied/excused.  Casey, feeling no repercussions, just kept upping the ante, getting more devious all the time. I think Casey kept Caylee for leverage, rather than abort her (not that I am pro-abortion). Caylee was her golden ticket to Bella Vita.  She just never thought ahead that: Caylee would one day be able to talk and tell; Caylee wouldn't always be a compliant, containable little baby; and Cindy would eventually tire of financially carrying Casey. JMO
