Multiple Charges Filed Against Sexual Assailant

PALATKA – A 31 year-old Palatka man was arrested for attempted sexual battery and false imprisonment. On April 8, 2009 at approximately 8:00 PM, deputies responded to the area of 444 Stokes landing Road, in Palatka, in reference to a battery complaint. Deputy Scott Surrency met with the 29 year-old female victim who reported that an acquaintance, named Jason McLeod, had locked her inside his vehicle and would not let her leave, and while inside the vehicle he attempted to force her to perform sexual acts on him. The victim was able to force her way out of the vehicle, run to a nearby residence, and ask the homeowners to call law enforcement.

The victim told Deputy Surrency that she was afraid Mcleod would return with a firearm because she witness him shooting a rifle earlier in the evening. It was discovered that Jason Mcleod had an active arrest warrant for sexual battery, and Mcleod’s listed address on the warrant was 135 East Satsuma Road, Palatka. Deputies responded to Mcleod’s residence listed on the warrant. A vehicle similar to the vehicle described by the victim was parked in the yard. Deputies attempted to make contact with McLeod, and were able to hear the sounds of someone moving inside the residence, but no one would answer to the door.

Due to the active arrest warrant and information obtained from the victim, deputies forced open the front door and located Jason Mcleod inside. Also found lying on the floor inside the residence was a .22 caliber rifle and .22 caliber ammunition.

Sheriff Jeff Hardy assigned Detective Doug Schwall of the Major Crimes Unit to the investigation. Jason McLeod was arrested on the active arrest warrant, and additionally charged with attempted sexual battery, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He was transported and booked into the Putnam County Jail without incident.

When this one site for Haleigh began, I joined, not knowing really what it was.  Still don't, cuz I haven't followed it.  They send email messages from time to time, and I just got one.  Don't know what to make of it either.  LOL  But maybe someone in here knows what it means.  Here's what the email said:

guys i think most of us here are hoping for a live haleigh and expecting a body so here is this... and i know we don't know what time she went missing but....
basing it on a theory that if you are going to hide a body you are not going to travel too far with it in your car.... since chances are you are already a shady mother f'er and run the risk of being pulled over at random as the pcso arrests site has proven...
this is a 60 mile radius  (the avg distance you can travel in 1 hr considering speedlimits/traffic lights etc.) (*blue circle)
also considering that at the time you could get about 4gallons of gas for 10 bucks (the most that these drug heads would throw in the tank towards gas)
let's say the car gets 15 miles per gallon (high avg)
that means 60 miles of traveling all together 30 away and 30 back to origin (*red circle)

 
unless you believe the she was taken to another state theory instead of something happened and she was disposed of right away
sad to say but this is probably where her body is ...

Also it was said that McLeod chased Amber and Nay Nay with a machete after accusing them of stealing from him. thanks brandi ... any clue how to find out if he owned one? and wasn't it a green caddy that was towed away that day that we were trying to figure out if it were nay nay's car being towed since we knew she drove a pimp hoopdie?
was it possibly the car she was going to buy that was towed?

"they went and got my car from the junkyard and are doing some csi shit with it" did they say to her hey nay nay come clean... we need your car and we are gonna do forensics... and she said well my car is at blah blah address because my boyfriend bought it for me cuz my old one is in the junkyard? could the car towed still be linked somehow...  i know le said no but they are also liars too
