That is my plan....but first he has just left to pay on his bow,at the local hunting store. He ask me if I needed anything and I gave him the sideways Tink eye.I was just trying to explain to him earlier you can order anything these days and have it delivered most anywhere, except where I wish that bow was right now.
This may cost him the price of a new chair too.
Well if it is his new chair

When my husband comes home from work he chatters just like Chatty Cathy, it drives me nuts. But one good thing came out of yesterday, he was upstairs listening to Obama's speech last night, and all of a sudden he came downstairs. I asked him if the speech was done, and he said no. I asked him then why did you come downstairs, he said, I'm done with the speech, I'm done listening to Obama, and he said to me, don't gloat
Of course I gloated, but whatever was said my husband sure got mad, and don't even care what was said, at least now he will shut up about Obama
How funny.
I listened for a few minutes and that was all I could take.

Hi all
Rant Warning
First off I am old and a Hag today. Every grey hair I have is a reminder of my life experiences so far and most are from my kids and they were all free.
After spending just over $600 for school supplies the supplemental requirements are now slowly being sent home. Why FTLOG can they just not put everything on one list and be done with it? Daughter's math teacher needs a specific scientific calculator (probably cause he has shares in the brand) and it is just over $300. I told her to tell her math teacher that were were Amish and electronics are against our religion so she would be just fine with an Abacus.
Had frost yesterday morning. I thought I needed new glasses. Got the pool down and waiting for the liner to dry so I can put it away and it has been raining off and all all day. Supposted to go down to 2C tonight with more frost tomorrow morning, then nice for the weekend. I was hoping to get the last of my garden in this weekend but mother nature may have other plans and it could be a huge compost pile instead.
Love my steam shark. Between Ryley and the cat they are both shed machines. I also have a iRobot Roomba for every floor of the house which I set off every morning. They are a god send with pets! They vacuum under furniture if it is high enough and get in the corners really well. Also know about stairs and don't fall down and adjust themselves to different heights so know not to get caught up on the throw rugs. They get all the hairs and dust before they turning into fur balls and have puppet shows of their own under my furniture with dust bunnies.
I bought my mom the iRobot Scooba (which is a robot floor washer) and she loves it. She just dumps the water and refills and wipes up the docking pad as it does dribble a bit when it docks.
If I had no pets I would get a few scooba's as well but with the animals and kids I like the steam shark. I do reseal my tile grout once a year though.

Oh wow Northern that is beyond ridiculous for school supplies, don't know what to say
What about all the kids whose families can't afford all this? What a shame. Yes all my gray hairs and dark circles under my eyes are from my kids and earned every single one of them, that is why I don't dye my hair anymore, battle scars for the world to see. Have also wanted one of those Roombas, now that you have given your seal of approval, I'm going to now look for the best price and purchase one. Hate to vacuum and that sounds great. You sure are getting cold weather for the first of Sept
sounds like a long winter is on your way. Good thing is that time flies by fast.

I am so glad I don't have children in public school right now.
Just amazing what the schools are requiring for school supplies these days. I have seen local lists that require among many other things, 20 (twenty) glue sticks, multiple packages of crayons/markers, and get this ...toilet paper!
Some of these lists total to well over a couple hundred dollars, and I am talking about elementarty school classes.
I feel so sorry for those families that simply cannot afford these supplies for their kids.
I saw one editorial about these lists, and one student got a 0 for the day because they were lacking one article on the list!
Insane. Cruel and just plain wrong.

Before I go water I have a question. Keep getting these phone calls and don't have a clue, how do you check on the phone who just called you?
I think it is *67. Not sure though NoRose.
Dialing *67 and then the phone number (including area code) you want to call will put your call through anonymously. Includes cell phones. This blocks someone from seeing YOUR number, it doesn't tell YOU who THEY are.
Thank you Muffy

Our school system failed last year for the 2nd year in a row. The only middle school to pass the CRCT was the theme "parent participation school" and they closed that school this year. *sigh* I am scared for my kids.

Mine are all the 530 models. You can get special ones for pet hair but I find that the 530 does a great job. I think the pet model has a bigger bin and brushes. When I got my first Roomba it had not even finished vacuuming when it stopped and told me to clean the brushes. I was shocked to see all the hair that the normal vaccum was not picking up. Same with the dust in the filter. It took about a week running it every day before I could let it run without it stopping in the middle and telling me to clean the brushes. I still use the big vacuum once a week but the daily runs of the Roomba makes a huge difference. I let them run till they are out of battery then they find the docking station if they are in the same room and recharge themselves. When I researched them the biggest complaints people had about them was the battery life got shorter. There is a big warning with the manual that this will happen if you do not let them run till the battery is dead every time. They run for about 1 hour and get to places that normally would not get vacuumed like under my china cabinet and under beds.
I have only had one issue with one and when I called iRobot there was no arguing or issue, they sent me the replacement part and threw in a spare set of brushes for free. One thing you should know is there is no repair depot. If something goes wrong you call iRobot and they either send you the parts if it is something simple or replace your Roomba with a new one if it is not something they feel the owner can replace.

The school supply thing is quite the racket isn't it? What kind of calculator? I think we bought my daughter 2 of them because she supposedly lost one and lo and behold she found it, but long after we bought a replacement. I remember the thing cost about 150.00 at the time. I think we still have them. If we do, I could fire up the jet and drop one off.

I agree Brandi and here you buy all the supplies and they all end up going in a cupboard for everyone to share.

I was so livid with the list for my youngest this year. One set of felts and a second set of felts for French. Same with pencils, 30 pencils plus 10 for french. I told my son that he can assure his French teacher that all the suppleis I buy are bilingual and do not mind being walked the 30 feet from home room to the French room.
Daughter had bingo chips and 20 dice on her list. I asked if they were setting up a casino at her school.

Thanks Mission. It was a Sharp but do not remember the model without looking at the paper he sent home. I am just furious that I get all these extra things they need and still have not been hit with the fieldtrip fees yet.

I think we still have them. If we do, I could fire up the jet and drop one off.
Thanks Mission. It was a Sharp but do not remember the model without looking at the paper he sent home. I am just furious that I get all these extra things they need and still have not been hit with the fieldtrip fees yet.
If you like I will check to see what we have and if it works I can certainly get it to you. I understand completely, I would be and remember getting so mad at the nickle and diming you to death.

Thank you for letting me rant. Off to go meet the school bus and then I am making some peach cobbler to calm down. Got some wonderful BC peaches today from a roadside stand.
Did you say Peach Cobbler??????

I just ate some peach cobbler a few minutes ago. I feel really guilty. I am been trying to get these 20 lbs off for 4 years now.

*sigh*
That is just plain cruel and it makes the kids that families can't afford all these items, outcasts
Even when my two were in high school we couldn't believe the bus fares and the yearbook costs, don't even want to know what that all costs now. And then add to the list, new clothes and shoes
