Sorry guys, I sneak a peek at work and don't post for obvious reasons.  Don't know where that thought went to!  There sure is alot of water around.  Likely they will find the little darling when the weather warms up and everyone starts boating and fishing.  Man, I hope she's alive.

When I suggested that I thought LE would have found her by now, I was going on the assumption that she was alive and being kept from Ron. I was working with your theory.

But yes, lots of water, lots of thick brush down there. I don't want to let my mind go there, quite yet. (That she is no longer alive.)

Yes they are.  They are near alot of water and a ton of swampy wooded area.

So much water and woods, it's easy to see how hard a job this is for LE!!

If you think about it Anna, you might realize that you were the last one who swooped.

This is a horrible question but I have to ask it.  The water that is close to the mobile home, how deep is it, and does it have aligators or anything like that in it?  I have heard them refer to cotton mouths, but I am wondering about larger reptiles.  TIA

Not sure how deep that water is, Minnie.  Supposedly only deep enough for John Boats to go thru?  But yes, there are alligators.  According to a rec site for Satsuma that I looked up once, it even says that alligators there like to sun themselves on the bank.     will try to find that link again, if you'd like to see it.

With the timeline we have been given it seems that would be the only way someone would just disappear in thin air.  I hate to even type those words, but I don't know how else to say it.  Maybe she did wonder off by herself and something happened.  How old were the other children she played with?

I have grand children and sometimes I have to stoop to their level of thinking.  I can only imagine what those 2 little ones had to put up with in Misty's (and also Ron's) care.  My youngest was 4 - 5 ish.  He hated to spend the night out, even with Granny and his 2 bigger brothers with him.  When he got tired, he would cry for his momma.  One night he started crying and I told him that I wasn't going to take him home right then, if he wanted to go, then he would have to walk.  Well that little booger took off out of the door and was going to walk home.  I lived on a farm, so he would have a ways to walk to get off of the property even!  I let him go a ways, thinking that he would turn around, but no such luck.  My point?  He didin't like the dark either, yet he was determined to do what he wanted to.  Never underestimate the power of little ones. If I hadn't gone to get him, I am sure he would have tried to walk home!  The outcome?  He came in the house, I told him that I called his momma, we sat in the chair and he fell asleep.  I put him in the bed and he woke up the next day, happy that he was there!

Blink do you know if Cobra is off the case, or if he left for awhile and is coming back. Thanks
I heard he was hanging tough at the moment, AND the locals want him there? They really want her found, and they really want the media to GO AWAY. The feel these peeps are not representative of their community.

Not my personal observations, strictly what I am hearing.

I don't think she wandered off in the dark.
The bloodhounds did get a scent to the RR tracks and also to a pond, a body of water.
They did ask Misty if she had ever taken that route with Haleigh and Ron Jr. to get to XXX's place ( must be family ) and she said she had. That is because hounds can still get a scent from past travels. So even though there was a scent, it might have been from the past.
I also am fearing the worst for this little girl.

Why is he having to hang tough?  Is someone giving him a hard time?  Or is it hard on him financially?  He may be making some of the locals angry or nervous.  Uncovering things they don't want uncovered?

Since it's a little slow in here, and I really do read all the posts everyday, but nothing ever seems to have a solid, verifiable answer, so I may have missed this....................  Did we ever find out who drove the SIL's van and parked it weird?
Did we ever find out if the key ring for that van had misty's housekeys on there or does she even have a house key?
TIA

Yeah, it's sure one of the ways Haleigh may have up and gone so quickly.  Am thinking a waiting vehicle/boat may be another.   Not sure how old the other kids she played with are.  IIRC, she had been playing with her little cousins that night.  I think they are younger than her?

It can be pretty deep.  The St. John's river can accommodate barges that traverse Florida via that route.   Some of the tributaries can only accommodate john boats though.

Alligators are in all bodies of fresh water in Florida, including the St. John's River.  But in the cold winter months they are not very active and they don't move very fast, especially at night when there is no sun to attract them out of the water.   Same is true of snakes.  On a cold dark night I don't see them moving too much either.

I don't think we've heard about any of that yet, Mizjay.  Just speculation is all.  Would love to hear some facts from LE!!
