Trimm is the truck fixed yet?

She may be outside letting the F-bomb go.
I don't blame her, I think she posted she was going to get the air conditioner upstairs fixed with the tax money.  I would be really pizzed.

I can scream pretty good so it would not surprise me if my scream killed the bird    I haven't had news on because I just can't take it sometimes, how did that speech to the school kids go?  And now tomorrow again Obama will be blabbing. They should just give him his own station and then that way if one wants to listen to him they can just turn on the Obama channel, and keep him off the other channels  Oh I just thought, with my dad here and news on and my husband and the spats over politics, not good

My invitation is still open.  an angelic monkey

The speech was very benign and pastuerized. Mostly, study hard and stay in school. But Nancy Pelosi in on a live new presser and I think I just developed a crack in my TV screen.

I bet the judge Rodriguez is going to throw out the Zenaida lawsuit, why the heck would he need that long to decide? I get more and more frustrated on Caylee's thread.

If Georgie and Spindy get a pass tomorrow, I really MIGHT have a crack in my TV screen. Laptop too.

From her loud irritating voice, or something accidently hitting the screen?  I can't even look at the woman. Well if he just said study hard and stay in school I guess that is okay, when we had something special going on in school I never paid attention anyway, it was great, no school work

From her ugly mug being on there. Thank goodness for the remote. I realized today that the plastic surgeon must have permanently afixed that smirky smile on her face. Even when she was relaxed or trying to be serious, that Cheshire Cat grin was till there. I wonder how she eats???

Yep,it's the state. They are screwing with us big time.     I really needed that money.

I know you did. And probably they will not find a thing wrong with your returns. It is just another stall tactic. I'd tell him I want him to cut me a check on the spot when he finishes.  Azzwipes!!!!    They'll probably make you wait 6-8 weeks or more to send it. Hopefully, it won't be an IOU.

I have just had it.Everyday it is something.

Sept. 8 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama said he is willing to consider taxing soda and other sugary drinks as Congress debates overhauling the U.S. health-care system.
“I actually think it’s an idea that we should be exploring,” Obama said in an interview with Men’s Health magazine that goes on sale next week. “There’s no doubt that our kids drink way too much soda.”

Lawmakers drafting legislation to revamp the U.S. health- care system have considered new taxes on sugar and sweetened soda to help pay the cost, estimated at as much as $1 trillion over the next decade.

Obama said that, while the proposal faces opposition from some legislators, higher taxes that reduce soda consumption would be helpful.

“Every study that’s been done about obesity shows that there is a high correlation between soda consumption and obesity,” Obama said in the magazine interview. “Obviously it’s not the only factor, but it is a major factor.”

Lobbyists for Coca-Cola Co., Archer Daniels Midland Co. and allies in the soft-drink industry have worked to kill the proposal, which has been debated by the Senate Finance Committee.

The five-member S&P 500 Soft Drinks Index was up 0.7 percent at 12:50 p.m., after rising as much as 1.4 percent earlier in the day. The index is up 12 percent since the beginning of the year.

Big Brother

Obama said he understands fears some would have about “Big Brother telling them what to eat or drink,” but he said any steps that reduce soda consumption would have “ a big impact on people’s health in this country.”

Government moves discouraging soft-drink use would hit companies already suffering from sliding sales and prices. Soft- drink sales volume fell 3 percent in 2008, dropping for the fourth straight year, according to Beverage Digest, an industry newsletter.

The American Beverage Association, a Washington lobbying group for Atlanta-based Coca-Cola and other non-alcoholic beverage makers, is leading efforts to quash a soda tax. The group called on members and their employees to put pressure on Congress, saying the industry is “under attack.”

The Congressional Budget Office has estimated that a 3-cent tax on 12-ounce cans of soda would raise $50 billion over a decade.

NORTHERN ROSE, thank you for the article. The more the government says we shouldn't do something, the more I want to do it, even if it is bad for me. We haven't been drinking soda (cold drinks to us southerners) here in a long time. Not even diet drinks. But this makes me want to go out and buy a case of everything on the shelf. It is one more tax we don't need, and none of O's business if I want to drink one.

I know!!! O would have never appointed a manufacturing czar unless he was pro-union.    There was a day I really believed in unions, my family was always union. Until my daddy retired from his union shipyard job after 30+ years, and got exactly $18 a month, and no insurance. He did get a gold watch, which is still in the box it came in in my dresser drawer, never worn.

I just posted this is Caylee's thread.  Wonder if Bobo is tagging along?

Todd Macaluso, a California lawyer who was brought onto Casey Anthony's defense team because of his expertise in cross examination, has taken on another high-profile case.

Macaluso is representing NFL star Shawne Merriman who's accused of two felonies in an altercation with reality TV celebrity Tila Tequila.
