Anyone know how long it might take for this to go to trial?  Will it replace the original trial date for the other charges?
[/quote

Yes this will end the other charges I say it takes about a year unless they go first time around but more then likely they will continue it a few times

They could ask for a speedy trial. Right?

We had the Entwistle double murder, totally financed by the taxpayer's of the state of MA, high priced attorney.  It took 2+ years for it to come to trial.  Prosecution took just about 2 weeks, Defense rested without bringing one witness to the stand, not even the double murderer's parents, who he fled to after killing his wife & 18 mo old daughter.

IIRC, the total cost to the taxpayer's inclusive of both & prosecution & defense was in excess of $2 million. That load of crap wasn't worth $5.00.  However I will say at least his parents kept their mouths shut until he was found guilty, then they showed they possessed no class at all.

Don't know how long it will take the state of FL to bring this to trial, but I do hope that giving false statements to law enforcement are pursued cuz it is especially important for such actions to be brought to accountability status when so many citizens are watching, imo.  That's really how public policy & acceptable norm's are established & for too many years such things as making false statements & perjury have been given a pass that our social norm's have been poluted, again imo.

Yes, the wheels of justice turn very slowly. I am waiting for a local case trial date to be announced.  The arrest/charges were Jan 31 2008. There have been monthly pre-trial hearings since, but still awaiting an actual trial date. This isn't a murder case either. I do recall OJ's trial happening quickly. It was a defense tactic to not waive the right to a speedy trial in hopes of the DA not being prepared. Unlike Phil Spector who waives and waives and waives to remain on the streets.
Only time will tell here.  I'm just glad Casey will be behind bars from now on.

Wyks ~  you think POI 2 could be Ricardo?  Interesting.
Yes.....very interesting..............someone started a rumor about there being another person involved and I wonder for what reason.......is this person jealous because they want attention that they are not getting ......hmmmmmmm   makes you wonder just how many people are behind this kinda rumor stuff.....

It has been a long standing belief that there was someone else involved.why would they make up a rumor like that and how does jealousy come into play?

Will that leak affect the case in anyway....I sure hope not!!! I really do feel bad for GA, now I honestly believe that he was honest w LE from the beginning for the most part.  Hell, he was probably in fear for his life from Casey and Cindy. She was soooo fake crying too!!! UGH!

I thought people thought is was Lee though.  He could have helped her, they were supposedly very close.  I don't think he was jealous of her at all!!

Shellbell ~  I hope it won't affect the case too.  But I think Casey's attorney would try to make as much of this as they can.  Anything like this that can be used would be, I think.

I can't imagine what it felt like for George before he went to the grand jury.  I think afterward, there would be some feeling of relief, and a lot of sadness.  This is just the beginning.  There is a trial ahead.  And the time after that.
