Is Murt a trouble maker or mentally ill, or a little of both? I thought he was done with inserting himself into cases

I'd say a little of both it seems.

Are there any monkeys participating in the balloon release on Monday? TIA

I'm not sure if that's what I'm doing as I think just posting the flyers here might be better......but, I did send school supplies through the Staples program. What about you?

O/T How is your son doing Searching?

Well, that is why I asked, I was going to ask if a monkey releasing a balloon could release one for me or something. We had Dads mass shortly after he passed and he was cremated, Monday will be his honors ceremony (military funeral) and his ashes will be entombed, had to get the arrangements done for it and that takes a while I guess..so I will not be available Monday. He is getting a full honors service , the 21 gun and taps and all so it may take a while.

OT:
He says he is feeling better, he has a new specialist, from what I was told, course he is grown and married so, I have no way of knowing for sure. Thanks for asking.

What a great honor for your father. I would release one for you, but I honestly think where I live it will go straight out over the Gulf and not inland due to the wind conditions and that's why I thought flyers would be better, I know for certain if I put them up they will be seen whereas the balloon over the Gulf may not be.

Your son wil remain in my prayers.

DA approves charges for man accused of attacking 2-year-old

Marcus Berry, 56, was taken into custody on complaints of kidnapping and lewd molestation charges.

District Attorney Tim Harris has approved kidnapping and lewd molestation charges against a convicted sex offender in connection with the attack of a 2-year-old girl, who was taken from her front yard Wednesday night.

Marcus Berry, 56, is a registered sex offender and has previous convictions of child molestation in 1986 and 1993, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Berry has been charged with violating the sex offender registration law two times since he was released from prison in 2006. One time he was acquitted at trial after saying that he was homeless and the second time he was convicted and sentenced to two years probation.

Officers were patrolling about 8:45 p.m. in the 3000 block of West Apache Street when they discovered a truck parked about 60 feet off the road in the middle of a field.

Thinking it was abandoned or stolen, officers investigated and reportedly found Berry with a 2-year-old girl inside the truck.

Berry, who was in the driver’s seat, had his pants completely open and down to his hips, while the girl was partially clothed and sitting on the bench seat next to Berry, according to police.

About five minutes after officers found the truck, a call about missing girl went out over the police radio, which fit the description of the 2-year-old at the scene, police said.

The girl had been taken from her front yard of her house in the 2400 block of North Yorktown Avenue about 7:30 p.m., Willingham said.

According to booking reports, Berry is in the Tulsa County jail on $1 million bond.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections records show Berry’s address is listed as Sand Springs and he was convicted of child molestation in 1986 and 1993. After serving 13 years on a 30 years sentence, he was released from prison in 2006.

Tulsa police then received information that later that year he was living in Tulsa, but had failed to register as a sex offender. He was charged in March 2007 and the case went to trial, but he was acquitted by a jury because he said that he was homeless.

“The jury felt, by the letter of the law that he possibly could not register with an address if he was homeless,” Willingham said.

The next year, Berry was charged with violating the sex offender law by residing within 2,000 feet of school and pleaded guilty in July 2008. He received a two-year suspended sentence and was ordered to register as a sex offender, court records show.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Local Attorney Says Family Asked For Help
POSTED: 4:32 pm EDT August 14, 2009
UPDATED: 4:46 pm EDT August 14, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prominent Orlando attorney Mark NeJame is getting involved in the search for Haleigh Cummings.

Mark NeJame

NeJame said the missing girl's family asked him to help, and he then asked missing child advocate Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch to work with him.

NeJame and Miller also were involved in the search for Caylee Anthony, whose remains were found in December 2008 in Orange County. Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death.

Haleigh Cummings, 5, was reported missing from her home in Satsuma in February, and no trace of the girl has been found. A $35,000 reward remains available for her return.

In a news release, NeJame said he plans a news conference on Monday with Miller and the family.

More help in search for Haleigh

Updated: Friday, 14 Aug 2009, 5:04 PM EDT
Published : Friday, 14 Aug 2009, 4:39 PM EDT

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - High profile Orlando defense attorney Mark Nejame and Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller announced Friday they will be helping in the search for a missing Putnam County girl.

NeJame says he was contacted by the family of Haleigh Cummings to help them locate her and then reached out to Miller to also help the Cummings family search for missing five-year-old Haleigh Cumming.   Photos of Haleigh

Putnam County Sheriff Investigators say Haleigh was kidnapped early on February 10th.
The last person to see her was her father's girlfriend, now wife, Misty Croslin, who placed the 911 call alerting police to Haleigh's disappearance.

Though authorities still have no suspect in the case, police say the Cummings case is not yet cold. A gathering of various law enforcement agencies on June 5 determined that there are still leads to follow up on. If you have any information on Haleigh's disappearance, please call 911.
