Hi CBB.  I think the judge in this case may be wondering what Baez is up to and what he's trying to do.  Baez's relationship with Geraldo was the first clue and I think more of his media attraction will become evident.  I just hope it doesn't trigger a mistrial or some other such nonsense.

I agree that Casey will not be successful with an insanity defense.  The bar is quite high for proving legal insanity.  Casey appears to be quite sane.  That is a whole other ballgame than her personality disorder(s).

That scenario has crossed my mind as well, AZ. I want him to be lame, but not lame enough to have a court grant her an appeal based on ineffective representation. Somebody posted the other night that JB's ad in the phone book said he was a DUI attorney!!! Can you imagine that type of atty in a possible death penalty case???

I've been wondering more about this lately.  Baez is clearly inexperienced and not prepared to defend such a case.  However, with the Death Penalty off the table, he's free to be her lead attorney.  Now, if they bring the DP back into the picture, he will have to get co-counsel, but he has Casey's full trust, so even a good co-counsel can't be effective if the client resists his advice.  The last televised visit showed that George and Cindy do not like Baez and they even suggested Casey might talk to someone else, like the PI, while Baez was out of town.  I do think Baez has a tight grip on this case and is intending to ride it all the way to the bank.  That won't help Casey, but I think she's beyond any help, anyway.

ITA, the fact that Casey's parents didn't like Baez is probably some of the reason Casey likes him so much. If they told her he was a wonderful choice and a good man she would have dumped him like a hot potato imo.

I think the Anthony's want a piece of the pie that Baez is now controlling.  It's all about the money.  Follow the money.

TV Guy

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2009/01/casey-anthony-1.html

It was an opening to the 6 p.m. news you wouldn't forget. The Casey Anthony case was the story Monday, and WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Bob Opsahl trumpeted the headline.

"Right now, you're the first to hear a stunning new development in the case against Casey," Opsahl said. "We uncovered bold new allegations that secret entertainment deals could be helping to pay for Casey's defense."

The big story: Could Casey's attorney Jose Baez be removed from the case because of a conflict of interest?

Reporter Mary Nguyen said Baez's spokesman, Todd Black, denied the allegations, yet added that Baez had brokered some deals on licensing fees.

Guide you know what the Sickest of all ..Is
Is this - Ms Caylee now Found ( passed away) is going to be Worth More than anyone would pay out - If she was found Alive ...
Everyone who is a lech and a sleeze is going to try to profit off her death ..and its Insane .. It truly is insane.
All for the sanctity of media  .... makes me want to throw up

Deenie, you are correct.  Caylee has become a commodity.  Her life story and the continued cyclone activity surrounding her death are being sold like stocks & bond on Wall Street.  "Sleeze" is a gentle term to use for these people.

Forgive me if I am jumping the gun on this, but that information was posted in an initial investigation done by me and colleagues at WS..  We never posted that information publicly because it was preliminary.. WE have since published a comprehensive article on Todd Black, Red and I are working on it as we speak and will publish it here soon. I mention this because there is variances in the information that came to light as the investigation progressed and I dont want to see any "mis-info" out there.

Lastly, TB is not a nice guy, meaning if you polled the media in Orlando as to what they think of him, it would shock you. They knew the weight of his involvement and what it might mean, and people were pretty much told to back off, until now...

Blink, I'll send Klass my notes, and she can send them on to you.   I know this came from WS.  I do not want to screw up any work you are doing.

got it, and thanks. No problem whatsoever. What I am referrring to is actually 2 different pieces, one on the finances, and one on TB, which were completed in August and October respectively, I am not adding to them.. However, as always, once the monkeys have a look-see, it always kicks it up, you guys are brilliant!!

I emailed GA and asked him where the monies( my word....notice how it  is used below)were going for the tee-shirts and bracelets. Since Caylee has been found it would not be going to 'find Caylee.'  This is the reply I just got back

georgehope4937@yahoo.com

hello Dxxxxx,

Any monies sent go into " The Caylee Marie Anthony Foundation". The monies are then spread between non-profit organizations for other children. You can check Caylee's web site and it explains this..
God Bless and Thank you..
George Anthony

Kid Finders?
I find it interesting that it is going into the Foundation and not the Trust.

Why do you find that interesting.....I am not sure of the real difference?  And KLASS THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I love having Tim as my avatar...he is my hero....Rob is gonna be jealous!  LOL
The Foundation has officers which can be paid for their services and those officers are:
Cindy & George
Lee
Mallory & her mother, Jody

The Trust only had a Trustee which has to provide an accounting of funds
I think you should email this to Kathi Belich (sp).

They reported on the Foundation when it was first established.  And there were also reports on the 1st Trust when the accounting, such as it was, was released.

Good morning monkeys!  After listening to Nancy Grace last night and hearing that TES has wiped out most of their funds on the Caylee Anthony case (which stops them from searching for other missing children) I wanted to scream.  I want to see Casey cry for her baby and not herself.  It's like Caylee has been forgotten.  She was tossed out like garbage and her remains were scattered in bits, only to be put together and gathered by strangers.  It saddens and sickens me to think there are people out there like her.

NANCY GRACE Aired January 19, 2009

Quote
GRACE: Kathi Belich with WFTV, an entertainment deal? Are we talking about TV? And contingent on whether he wins or loses? Isn`t that, if it`s true, a conflict of interest, a huge conflict of interest?
Quote
GRACE: Well, what are our choices, Kathi Belich? Who do we believe is suggesting Jose Baez has an entertainment deal?
Quote
BELICH: I think people close to the Anthony family are concerned about that. I think there have been rumors flying about that and concerns flying about that for months. And as I said, it seems to have risen to a level of a complaint to prosecutors. And they`re not -- haven`t decided whether they will actually ask for a hearing so that everybody can get to the bottom of it.

None that I am aware of, Lucinda.  Yesterday was a holiday here in the US in honor of Martin Luther King.  Today is the inauguration of President Obama....so not sure much will be released today.  Sometimes, though, high profile lawyers will make motions, etc. when there are other larger news stories going on in the media.  Let's keep our eyes open....

I just sent you an email -- the newest news is that someone has filed a complaint with the state bar against Baez indicating that he has made a deal with an entertainment firm and that deal is based on the outcome of the trial -- that is a violation of the cannons of ethics for attorneys in America.  It will be up to the judge as to whether he will investigate and remove Baez.

Hiya Sharon, thats disguting.  IMO the anthonys should be made to reimburse TES.  There will be books written, and in my opinion, Tim Miller deserves to write a book, because we all know his profits will go directly towards finding other missing persons.  The Anthonys are dreaming about a million dollar book deal, or selling caylee memrobilia, and they can get around that legally by getting a friend  to write the book and profit, then they split the money.  It has been done before.  In the schapelle corby case, her sister is making loads of money, on interviews, she is even able to publish her sisters book, as long as the profits dont go into schapelles name.  There is so many ways around these book and profit deals, you wait and see, the anthonys will reap millions of dollars from caylees death.

Good Morning Monkeys !  We in NC have SNOW -- Yippee!  Here is the latest article -- Rumors yesterday that more documents coming out this week.

Baez rumored to be seeking entertainment deal regarding Anthony case

Rory O'Neil with Westwood One appeared on the Nancy Grace show on Monday asserting Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, may be up to no good.

Casey is charged with the murder of her daughter, 2-year-old Caylee Anthony.

According to O'Neil, Baez is rumored to be seeking an entertainment deal contingent on the outcome of Anthony's case.  O’Neil stated this behavior is strictly prohibited by the Florida State Bar.  If the allegations are true, this would be an enormous conflict of interest regarding the case.

Reporter Kathi Belich also told Grace that rumors have been abundant that Baez is steering the case in a direction that would make a good story once it is over.  Belich also indicated a complaint may have been made to the prosecutor’s office regarding Baez allegedly seeking entertainment opportunities.

When asked by Grace who may have lodged the complaint, Belich replied, "That's unclear...I think people close to the Anthony family are concerned about that.  I think there have been rumors flying about that, and concerns flying about that, for months.  As I said, it seems to have risen to a level of complaint to prosecutors and they're not--haven't decided whether they will actually ask for a hearing so that everybody can get to the bottom of it."

If true, this type of action on the part of Baez could end his legal career or result in serious sanctions.

"We're certain to get denials from him starting tomorrow," O'Neil said.
