GRAHAM, Texas – Concern is growing for a pregnant North Texas mother who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Candice Shields, 20, disappeared early Dec. 11 from her grandparent’s home in Graham, 90 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

“I think in the back of my mind, someone has taken my daughter,” said her mother, Michelle Quillin.

Family members say Shields is the mother to a 17-month-old son and is also three months pregnant.
 
Shields’ grandparents woke up the morning of the 11th to discover Shields gone. Her clothes, purse, wallet, even her cell phone were all left behind.
 
“For a woman... to leave without a phone,” said her grandfather Johnny Salinas, “it’s very out of the ordinary.”

I don't understand LE sometimes, here is a 20 yr old pregnant girl with an 18 month old  and no past history that is mentioned.  To take something like this so lightly just makes no sense when we see this happening almost daily and most of the time with devasting results.  

Glad the family has finally gotten some air time!

Shields is described as being about 5 feet 3 inches tall and about 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black and green pajama pants bearing an "Xbox 360" logo, and white tennis shoes.

Investigators said they have received unconfirmed reports of possible sightings in Graham and Mineral Wells.

They urge anyone with information on Shields' whereabouts to call the Graham Police Department at 940-549-1212.

Monday morning the family of Candice Shields is taking another step to try and locate the pregnant mother.

Shields' immediate family along with a representative from the C.U.E center for missing persons are recruiting volunteers who are willing to search for Candice and help pass out flyers.

The searchers will meet before 10 a.m. at the Old Ag Barn in Graham on HWY 67. Candice Shields went missing the night of December 10th from her grandparents home in Graham.

he family of a missing mother from Graham is still searching for her. There is a new effort to try to collect any information about Candice Shields' disappearance.  It's been 44 days since Candice was last seen.  She is four months pregnant and has a one year old son. Candice's mother and step-father were both at Monday's meeting in Graham.  Members of the community came together to offer support to the family and begin the next stage of their search for Candice.

But that isn't the case.  It's been 44 days since Candice was last seen by her grandfather.  Her mother says they are looking for any information about the night Candice disappeared.  "We just want to make people remember that night," Quillin says.  "We are just trying to jog memories."

The family and friends split in to teams covering Graham with new flyers about Candice.

The facebooks are strange in my opinion. None of her friends have posted on her wall asking where she is. Her "boyfriend" does not post anything about her missing. Her last posts sound sad and frustrated - I wonder if she left and committed suicide?  I hope not but could be. Or it could be the "boyfriend".

West Texas man arrested in missing-person case

ABILENE, Texas (AP) — Investigators say a West Texas man is charged with murder in the death of a woman who's been missing for more than a year.
 
Jeremy Thornburg of Sweetwater was arrested Monday. He was apprehended in Abilene and is being held at the Young County jail on a $750,000 bond.

GRAHAM, Texas — Authorities say a second person is now charged in the murder of a 20-year-woman who went missing more than a year ago in West Texas.

They say 22-year-old Lajuana Shunta Long was arrested Wednesday and is being held at the Young County jail on a $750,000 bond. The Graham resident was charged with a single count of murder.

 


Authorities continue to search for Shields' body.
