A New Jersey woman long thought to be a key witness for Casey Anthony's defense is the subject of hundreds of pages of prosecution documents released in recent days.

At best the documents portray Laura Buchanan as a person eager to inject herself into the case early on by taking part in searches for missing Caylee Marie in September 2008. At the time, Buchanan lived in Kentucky but was visiting Central Florida with her husband who was here for work-related training.

At worst, the documents show Buchanan altering Texas EquuSearch documents, providing a series of inconsistent statements and becoming the subject of an intense secondary investigation by detectives working on the Casey Anthony murder case.

Buchanan made herself known to the Anthonys and Casey Anthony defense attorney Jose Baez during the fall of 2008 by claiming she spotted a young girl who looked like Caylee while she was using the monorail at Walt Disney World.

She became even more valuable to the defense when she later signed a sworn statement saying that in early September 2008 she had scoured the area where Caylee Anthony's remains were ultimately found in December of that year.

The 300 pages of Buchanan's deposition statements hit the case court file Friday, the same day prosecutors released hundreds of other documents, audio files and photos as part of discovery.

Many of those documents and recordings also involve Buchanan, who has since moved with her family to suburban New Jersey. They include a number of secretly recorded phone conversations monitored by detectives, who appeared to be conducting an extensive investigation and trying to get to the bottom of Buchanan's claims.

Gosh, then maybe I will wait.  Already have a pounding headache.


So was telling hubby about all this lying, cheating, washing evidence, making up forms, laywer barrable offenses going on in this case, which he only knows what I tell him and he tells me I am too emotionally involved, but he says I keep telling you, after, after.  I guess he means they are waiting for after her trial to get some of them.  I hope he is right.

that's exactly what I said yesterday when I went through Robyns interview with LE she had to be scared ya think or just didnt want to say anymore than she had to as loyalty ro casey and Sylvia H.

She's got to protect her investment. She' got a chance to tour the great USA in their Winnebobo and preach Christianity to the dirty and unkempt masses. God help us all..

She had me confused too, but I do recall her saying she had some forms in her truck.  Not sure what she did with them or whatever, but that's what I remember.  she hedged over the subject of this form though many times.

IIRC, LB in one of her interviews/phone calls/depos......"3 hours, 3 days, and 3 weeks" were all mentioned in 1 sentence.....who the he!! knows which time frame is the truth.
I hope the DA brings criminal charges against this woman.

If Bozo doesn't get disbarred after this, then the FL State Bar should be investigated!!

In Robyn Adam's interview with LE, she said Casey told her a baby's remains were found near her parents house, with a blanket and in a black trash bag. This was the evening after Caylee was found.
Did we know about the blanket that early on??? If that wasn't public knowledge, then how would she know about the blanket.

For the first time, WESH 2 News has also confirmed that the child's body was wrapped in some sort of "covering" inside the bag.

According to sources, it was the covering -- along with the trash bag and duct tape -- that investigators said they believe are tied to the Anthony house nearby on Hopespring Drive.
