Love this song!

Good morning monks - it is a beautiful crisp sunny WINTER morning here we got 2 inches of snow and it is 17 degrees.  I think I will start my Christmas shopping today - Juuuuust kidding.    Although we are going to a huge Christmas Auction - they do it every year it is all outdoor decorations - I need all new stuff - I love the iron pieces wrapped in lights so that is what I am going to zero in on.  Furnace is now fixed and I am toasty warm.

I love snow!     Glad you are warm

I love the snow too Trimm - it is so pretty hanging on the trees - it is hanging on my geraniums and mums too

I'll be back in a little bit.gotta set stuff up for my little sidekick.I have to get out my gaming chairs and little tv tables for him.Get his games ready, and start getting our grilling stuff ready. Then I'll be back in the cage.He has 3 new games to play here with me so I am good to go!

Good Morning!  an angelic monkey

I'm just getting on. I wanted to catch JMS before she left. I want to see her before she left.

I woke up with a bad sore throat. I sometimes wake up with a dry throat, ( as I up a Cpap machine to sleep) but this morning it is a sore, sore throat and I can barely speak.

It has effected my typing and spelling. I can barely do either too.

Fanny are you ok?  You need to lay low today - very low, and take it easy.  I don't like to hear sore throat - if you aren't better later you best call the doctor.  Sending you some homemade chicken soup left over from Cappy.  Hugs

Now the he one the "peace" prize, he probably won't give any more additional troops. I hate that man.

This week should be interesting. He can't prolong this forever.do this right or bring all our troops home.Their safety is very important to me.
My brother is probably rolling in his grave right now.
I wouldn't blame him if he was, look at all the brave men and women, and if Obama doesn't send more troops, he sure as he!! better bring the ones that are there now home. There is no excuse to let them there in harms way. I can guarantee he will not send more troops, how could he now that he has won the Noble Peace Prize

Oh no, that is how my daughter's flu started. Do you have that Cepocol throat spray that numbs the throat, that helps. Just take it easy today and maybe see the doctor on Monday.  an angelic monkey  Trimm and JSM have a good day, JSM have fun    Trimm have fun with the little one, am so glad he is coming over to your house.

Thank you Mission for Trimms chicken soup. I think it's just what I need. It came on me all of the sudden, and I really feel rotten and out of it. The sun is out here, and in the high 40s. I'm hoping to rain and precipitation is over for a while. I haven't even gotten out of bed. Coffee and juice in bed so far.

I have it narrowed down to who's child was roaming the streets at midnight  The door bell ringing at midnight, just about scared me to death, I must have fallen asleep very early while watching tv, and when the doorbell rang, I couldn't find my glasses, they were dangling around my neck  I put my glasses on at night to watch tv, and never know where they end up in the morning, that was a first time they were around my neck. Glad your throat is feeling better Fanny

http://www.weaselzippers.net/blog/2009/10/state-department-compares-obamas-nobel-to-shoe-thrown-at-bush.html

In a clear dig at former President George W. Bush, a State Department spokesman compared President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize to the flying footwear his predecessor faced in Iraq.

"From our standpoint, you know, we think that this gives us a sense of momentum … when the United States has accolades tossed its way, rather than shoes," State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters on Friday.

Crowley was referring to a 2008 incident in which an Iraqi reporter hurled his shoe at Bush during a news conference in Baghdad. The act of protest struck a chord with millions in the Arab and Muslim worlds who had been captivated and angered by daily images of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.

I have never hated anyone in my life, but I HATE this BHO and his administration. They think they are cute and clever, but they have 1128 days (I think I have check my Obama clock tonight) until they are gone. If he has 4 more years, I plan on moving to Canada, where finally have voted in a PM that has some sense. JMO JSM

I would throw every shoe in my closet at O after that remark. I may manage a few tomatoes!!

Farmer, buddy must be out of their gourds

HURLEY — John Gill tucks a gray pumpkin under his arm and climbs to the top of a rusty ladder. He opens a hatch on the side of a steel pipe, drops the pumpkin inside and sprays it with magenta paint.

"So we can find it later," he says.

The hum of an air compressor stops and, for a moment, the Ulster County hillside is silent.

"You guys ready?"

Gill pulls on a pair of yellow leather gloves, grabs a lever above his head and yanks it.

VAZEWWWWWW!

The pumpkin zips out of the pipe. It's a poppy seed in the sky before a second passes. Then it's gone.

"Ha-ha!" Gill is chuckling. "Isn't that awesome? That's why we built it!"

Forget your souped-up motorcycle. Never mind your heavy-construction equipment. Leave your muscle car at home.

This is a real big-boy toy: a pumpkin cannon with a 97-foot-long barrel that shoots gourds roughly 4,000 feet, at a speed of 600 miles per hour. Tilted at a 45-degree angle, the cannon shoots about 3,500 feet high. Gill, a corn and vegetable farmer, and his construction buddy Gary Arold, built the pumpkin cannon in 2006 after they saw a friend's smaller model.

The machine is simple. An air compressor fills two 1,000-gallon tanks to a pressure of 50-100 pounds per square inch. When Gill pulls open a butterfly valve, kapow! Pumpkin missiles.

Yes, it was. It was a play on words.....not that anyone would notice.

But I actually did get up at the crack of dawn, and I really was tired from that.

Now I feel worse that I did then, and feel like I need to go back to sleep.
