Robots, We probably all have some cousins like that somewhere!

My in-laws live quite comfortably on their social security and a bit of a savings account, not much more than your $1250/month.  But, their house payment is $250/month, car is paid for, and expenses are fixed.  They save enough every few months to make the trip to Laughlin to gamble with friends and go out for lunch once a week or so.  We help with luxuries for Christmas, birthdays, Mother's Day, etc.  They have medicare for medical care.  Their life is actually very good.  However, they are in their 70's.  I'm not talking about them.  I'm talking about 30-40 something's who are raising families and trying to make ends meet.

Sorry, 30-40 somethings ain't any worse off than 30-40 somethings were 20 yrs ago or 50 yrs or ago and for sure are better off than those of 60/70 yrs ago.

You are right there.  We, as a country, are richer and have more opportunities than we've ever had.  I just feel for the people caught in the middle in a changing world who don't know how to change.  That's all.  They will have to change--that's the way of it.  Or they will be forever behind and wondering what happened.  We're really the most fortunate people in the world.

Yep we are all quite fortunate, but that all seems lost in todays culture.

it sure seems like the "PROBLEM" was only temporarily under control

know what i mean ?  

all the KOOKIENESS about making sure they all had alibis FOR the TIME PERIOD......thats all that was... deepak, joran and satish making sure they had things covered for that NIGHT

for what reason?  the girl was on the beach and would be heading back to the hotel soon.

There's a bakery opening here called Sprinkles Cupcakes.  They sell cupcakes for $3.50 each and $36/dozen.  Hah!  Now that's a scam!  

That just goes to show there's a lot of folks around who can afford those kind of prices.

they dont try to combine errands, they spend friviously

Oh, I admit I'm not perfect.  Sadly we live in such a fast paced life.  We have a great country, but so few "close" families like back when Carnut was talking about.  Our generation does have it's downfalls as well!

Carnut, I am speaking out of my own personal experience, as I know you are too.  I do believe the gap is growing between the classes, because I am the Middle class who is really struggling at this time in my life.  I do see the lower classes in a catch 22 for the most part and the rich are getting richer.   But you are right,  we live an land of opportunity and I really don't have a right to complain.  I have a roof over my head, a good job, car,  clothes on my back,  etc.  It's just hard when 3 - 8 yrs. ago we were doing so much better than now and I'm only in my 40's.   We hit some rough times, so I know there are others' that have too.  Please don't think I am attacking you.  I agree for the most part with you, but not on some is all....
