Regarding the motorcycle:

Kermit wrote:  "Because he was seen with her on it

I hadn't thought about these possibilities, but it makes sense.  I was thinking when he split the scene on July 5th, he loaded up his motorcycle in the back of his truck, then sold it along the way to get some cash.  For a while I was searching CraigsList in all the major cities up and down CA and then in the major cities along the route I imagined he would travel from CA to Florida - looking for the ad to sell his motorcycle.

That neighborhood where the house is in Faris Drive is so compacted.  I'm still trying to figure out how he got her body out of the house:  if she were heavily drugged and he put his arm around her shoulders and "walked" her to his vehicle; if he put her inside a large duffle bag and carried her out like she was a bag of gym clothes; or carried her in his arms.  There are lots of apartment buildings all around there, and people are coming and going at all hours.  There are also a lot of churches of many denominations all around that tiny neighborhood.  It is very compact in there.

My opinion is that he sold her to someone, that there is someone else involved.  He could have taken her to his secret sex spots in the SM mountains, and then killed her and dumped her body, but I think he is all about making money (and of course, the power).  Another thought:  If he were driving her through the SM mountains, she came to her senses or realized she was in danger, opened the door and jumped out of the moving truck to go tumbling down the mountainside.

If someone wants to follow the lake lead (body attached to motorcycle and dumped in a lake), then you probably want to identify all the lakes within a 12-hour drive from LA in all directions that are deep enough for this type of activity.  How many lakes could there be?  50 or less?  Then once the lakes are identified, is there some sonar-type equipment from an airplane that could fly overhead and scope the depths of the lake?  Might NASA have some type of equipment that could help out?  (Donna's dad works for NASA.)

TOLL ROAD:

Is there a camera that films (or takes pictures of) vehicles as they drive through?  I wonder if LE has looked at that?

Yes there are several cameras that take pictures.  I would hope LE has already looked at those.

Every white dot on this map represents an access point and there are cameras at all of the access points:

Are the cameras on 24/7?

Let's say they find a suspect and go for a murder charge... would it be via Orange County since the missing person report was filed there?

(I am taking for granted a body is not found)

Yes the cameras are on 24/7.  I'm guessing if they have reason to believe the murder was committed in OC the case would be tried in OC.  If they believe the murder was in LA then it would be tried in LA.

http://www.kget.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=30d484d1-1426-4193-8e7e-ba24f6795417

Nili Jou Nili Jou believes inmate John Steven Burgess was the last to see her missing daughter alive.

"My daughter has been missing for 8 months now."

In wasco, Nili Jou went from store to store and person to person, passing out fliers about her missing 19-year old daughter Donna.

She says convicted sex offender John Steven Burgess knows where her daughter is.

"He came, picked up my daughter, took her to his place, and since that, we haven't seen her. It's more than 8 months."

Authorties say Donna Jou met Burgess on the internet through Craigslist.  The San Diego State student was last seen at a party at Burgess' rented house in West Los Angeles.

Donna's last communication was a text message that said she had locked herself in the bathroom at Burgess' house and that he was "creeping her out."

Nili Jou and other relatives tried to visit Burgess at Wasco State Prison where he is serving time after failing to register as a sex offender, but prison officials turned the family away because inmates have to agree to meet.

Even though they were not able to get inside the prison personally, they're hoping their message does.

"I'm just begging, whoever has my daughter, to just please... please eight months.  Just let her come home to us."

Jou vows to keep walking the streets and telling her story to anyone who will listen, until her daughter comes home.

This appears to be the latest.  Link has a video as well.

Thank you Peaches for posting that. I watched the video.

The mother says that her gut feeling is her daughter is still alive.

I trust mom's instincts first so that being said, we need to look at what gangs into sex trade did Burgess live around?

It is rumored that sex trade is active in the eastern area of Palms but don't know if it is a "gang".

Around that area, just to the north used to be the 18th Street gang. There are so many gangs in LA, so I don't know.

One has to also consider he had international roommates from some very active countries in that type of trade.

The Salvation Army has activities to lessen the human trafficking. This was an unkonwn to me until recently. I wonder if they keep databases of activites by area?

What about the porn videos of drugged pictures of ladies that he took and sold or so to be rumored?

There are so many unknowns in the case or at least unknowns to the public.

Sometimes I want to throw my hands up and give up, then I think of Donna and the family and all those that are missing and someone might not even know or care.

Just like Natalee, she could be any daughter!

So sad!

You know, we are so "into all the cover up" that happened in Natalee's case, I just have gotten, refreshed again, to the point that I feel we are blessed in the US with the type of Law Enforcement we have and am still positive, in thinking, that they are working on this.

Have always thought high of LE all my life... hard working, dedicated, long hours, human suffering seen every day and underpaid, even though I got t-d off when LAPD wouldn't let TES come in early on soon after the disappearance so, remember I went out and took all those pictures. Still can't understand why there was a no.

Now some of these areas are being bulldozed. It saddens me deeply for I have a gut feeling that clues, evidence have been lost or doing their last breath to be discovered, like now!. There is even a building being built on a good place to hide something.

I was asked by TES not to produce the pictures of the area with the tool box for it would hinder their search.. but the search never happened. It didn't occurred to me until last night that the area was covered by TV when the tool box was finally reported to police.

I didn't see it on TV but was told by a resident there that the search helicopter and press helicopters covered it.

A duh.  Love, IBE

PS I have seen family members search on their own; still not loosing the faith. I have been with them, even with my feet out in the street and the rest of me under a bougainvillea (sp?).

I have seen Donna's mom run up an embankment and spot a back pack and tear into into, thinking something could be there of her daughter. Throwing out all kinds of trash from homeless in there... cell phones, hair bands and nothing that she thought might match her daughters.

It took all I had to bite my lip and not cry in front of her.

I have seen her aunt and uncle go into areas poking with poles and the uncle even going into a RR tunnel where there are homeless... some mentally ill, some not. (ironically, I used to stop under the overpass by the RR tunnel years ago with food, yell out and they would come and get it.)

I have seen residents come up and give info what they have seen and found, when they saw us search. One neighbor there was so sorry he had recycled the cans from the tool box, now realizing they might have been important. He even went on to check the timing of seeing the tool box there on July 5th AM. This would have been, if true that Burgess took off at !:30.. this would have been hrs. before.

Now here's a question to bonder... if he had a rental unit that would have been available during the day... why was the tool box placed there at night or before 11 AM? Why didn't he just leave the tool box in his back yard?

Anyway, what if the motorcycle didn't go with him? was it left at the house?

IMO those at the party and his roommates must know more. Maybe if the reward were higher they'd come forward or someone would or why is there a fear?

anyway, later Tim Miller of TES came in on a private-look see and I had the honor to ride with the aunt, uncle and Donna's father, Reza looking at the places of where I had taken pictures.

The land where to hide something, is targeted for a light rail station and potential light rail from Culver City to Santa Monica. Much clearing of land going on.

Here's a question, I bet you Good Monkeys have the answer for.

The neighbors of Burgess said it took off about 1:30 PM so fast that boxes were falling off his truck after he learned he was a "person of interest"

OK>.. how did he learn this? Was it on TV or did someone from LE contact him or was it leaked to him in some way?

I'd like to have a timeline on this.

To All That Have Posted:
Each one of you are doing an amazing job for Donna and her Family. My love to each one of you for your dedication and kindness. I had the pleasure of speaking with a couple of the monkeys on a more personal level and I appreciate each of your thoughts.

A warm Hello to Hope07, IBE AND KLAASEND!

Kermit....Great pictures!
It is approaching a year that Donna has been missing and I believe another search is going to take place soon! I will help with what I can do for a search.

Any ideas where to search? If this was your family or case....where would you start first?
Would you have a team passing out flyers in the known "porn" industries? Where would this be in CA?
Let me know what your ideas are to get a search done before June.
God Bless To All~

Timeline from the Donna Jou website:  http://www.donnajou.com/Contactlaw.html

Late May – early June: Donna Jou comes across John Steven Burgess – a convicted child molester
who uses the name Sinjin Stevens – on the Web site Craiglist.org and they begin exchanging
messages. Eventually they agree to meet in person

June 23: At 5:30 p.m. Jou gets on the back of Burgess' 1981 Yamaha motorcycle outside her
Rancho Santa Margarita apartment. Jou's family leaves for dinner and watches the motorcycle exit
the 241 at Portola. Burgess' roommates later tell police Jou was at a party held at their house at
3617 Farris Drive in Los Angeles. During the party, Jou calls her friend Sean Oberle in San Diego.
The conversation is "casual" according to sheriff's investigators.

June 24:At 6:08 p.m., Nili Jou receives a text message from her daughter's cell phone that reads
"Battery's dying. I'm in San Diego. Be home soon. I love you Mommy.""

June 25: Jou's family report her missing to the Orange County Sheriff's Department after she
doesn't show up for work or school.

June 28: Burgess turns 35.

July 5: Orange County Sheriff's Department releases the pictures of two persons of interest in
Jou's disappearance. Burgess is one of them. Burgess is seen packing his truck full of cardboard
boxes. It is the last time Burgess' roommates see him.

July 6: Sheriff's officials narrow their search to Burgess. The license plates and descriptions of his
Ford Ranger pickup and motorcycle are publicized.

July 8: A man finds a plastic tool box stuffed under bougainvillea vines about a mile and a half
from Burgess' house. Inside the box are the vanity license plates "SINJIN 1" from Burgess' truck,
a black motorcycle helmet, rubber dishwashing gloves, rope and a scrub brush.

July 9: Orange County sheriff's investigators and members of LAPD's robbery/homicide division
return to Burgess' house and spend hours interviewing his roommates and searching the property.
Several knives are found in a backyard cabinet and are being tested for blood residue.

July 26:Burgess is arrested in Jacksonville, Fl, possession of crack cocaine, bail: $1,000,000.00

August  17: Burgess extradited to Los Angeles and booked in LA County Jail.

August 20: Burgess named suspect in disappearance of Donna Jou,  his bail was set to $250,000
during bail hearing.

August 29: Burgess, suspected in disappearance of Donna Jou  posts $250,000 bail.

September 20 : Burgess was arrested at a Jacksonville, FL for theft, fake Social Security Card,
fake drivers Lic, fake name: Logan Anderson.

September 28: Burgess was re-extradited to Los Angeles, CA and jailed again.

October 02: Burgess bail doubled ($500.000.00) during bail hearing.

October 10: John Burgess was sentenced by California Superior Court to three years in State
Prison on an unrelated (to Donna) felony charges.

November 13: John Steven Burgess was transferred to WASCO state prison  53191AL

Here are somethings for the  timeline

~June 7 e-mail sent to OCLE from burgess "an attempt to express his thoughts and feelings about what may have happened to Donna Jou."

July 13 burgess arrives Heather Harley-Davidson's posh waterfront inn

http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=1337.0
Saturday, July 14, 2007
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA An e-mail sent last week to the Orange County Sheriff's Department by a man claiming to be John Steven Burgess, the convicted sex offender wanted for questioning in the disappearance of a 19-year-old honors college student he met on the Internet, has investigators scrambling to verify the author's identity – and the computer that sent the message.
Investigators would not disclose the exact contents of the email, but lead detective Dan Salcedo characterized the message as "an attempt to express his thoughts and feelings about what may have happened to Donna Jou."

http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=1337.80
It was a Friday – the 13th to be exact – when John Steven Burgess arrived in St. Augustine, Fla., last month, dropped off by his mother on the doorstep of Heather Harley-Davidson's posh waterfront inn.
