YAWN...

klassend writes: An Aruba policeman and a prosecutor could travel to Peru as early as August, said Peter Blanken, the island's chief prosecutor

And they watched, breathless, as Aruba uncoiled and sprang into action...

...August?

Isn't it strange that there would be such big news in Louisiana and Alabama at the same time things are happening in the Joran murder cases, including Katrina and the oil spill.  It seems something really big comes along to usurp the vacuum created by any news, and then he breaks loose.
I like the way you think. Media is all about contextual objectivity. That means that the news gives the audience what it wants to hear so they can make money. For the US it's entertainment, for other countries it's about politics, just depends.
What I see is distraction from bigger things going on elsewhere in the world as well as lessons in international law.

I'm thinking that Peru won't allow them to interview Joran until then.

Cuz - I can't take credit for the entire thing, Nonesuche emailed it to me, I enlarged it and added Joran's name.  It is funny though and very befitting of the monster. Wink

Hammer - Joran's own mother couldn't take time out from the film festival to go see her monster.

Maybe Peru wants to get the entire thing recorded in such a way that no one will suspect they are being taped and watched on video. What a great way to hang them all high!  I still suspect that for these very reasons,it won't happen.I doubt them coming to Peru was Jorans objective at all...

I find it realy weird that the guy in the cell next to joran is an assassin and has befriended Joran. Is that a ploy to befriend him gain his confidence and than do him in!! after all he would be known as the guy that killed the infamous Joran vandersloot. I think that Jorans trust of him will be short lived. Am I the only one thinking this. Have I lost it?

After all this guy has already killed someone of high status profile right??  whats he got to loose. certainly not money because we all know anita is in the poor house now due to jorans previous legal fees.

I wouldn't be so quick to believe the reports that the guy befriended Joran.  There is no shortage of inmates that would be willing to kill Joran for murdering a Peruvian girl.
Joran needs to be put with the rest of the inmates... giving him special privileges can bring retaliation against other Dutch inmates... He will do fine blending in... the only ones hated are child rapists.

In honor of Stephany and her love of gambling...
Anyone want to gamble on the odds:
Joran makes it to trial 20/1
Joran makes it to July 4th? 50/1
Joran get injured in prison? 20/1
Joran is killed after the trial? 5/1
Joran gets sick with some crusty disease in jail? 5/1
any other catagories to place bets on?

I'm here and watching as always.  Thinking since Joran did not go out for coffee but only pretended to, he also didn't come back to find Stephany on his computer.  But since he brought it up, Natalee and his laptop come into the investigation.

Why do they need a statement from Joran to search a place when he has already drawn a map?

And the other search place is from a so-called new witness?

No discussion with Joran required for either of those and yet time for Tim Miller to leave Saturday.

Guess this was a totally wasted visit from both him and Dave and the hapless Steph Watt?

Didn't that trashy looking film festival cost $220 to attend?  If Anita had money for that, I wonder why she doesn't for going to see Joran or an attorney for him?

Sometime I don't think people in Aruba have much of an idea how they look in all those posed photos they so love like at that festival.  There was one of a row of chubby women who obviously thought they were hot stuff but looked as though they had been dumpster diving for the occasion.  Each fatter than the one before and with frizzier hair.

Sort of O/T I know but I'm just saying. . . they don't look nearly as good as they seem to think they do.

Well, I seem to be the only one here talking to myself.

No problem. . . .

Joran didn't say exactly that he wanted to speark to the Aruban authorities IN PERU, lol.  He wanted to talk to them in Aruba. . . Ha, ha!  In his dreams.  So I guess he will clam up because they won't let him to back to Aruba where he can excape or they can refuse to extradite him back to Peru on some bogus human rights claims.

Many countries have a stray dog problem.

Sorry for off topic, there was an attempt to kill stray dogs in Mexico with H5N8 flu which only affects canines since there was a rabies mutation in 2008. Then oopsie H1N1 appeared instead immediately after... and there's still a stray dog problem.

About the hotel room. When I saw photos the first thing I noticed was the tiled walls. Tile everywhere is easy to smack someone's head against to deliver a deadly blow.
Did Joran premeditate how he would use this room as a murder chamber?
Opinions?

You know they really are quite pathetic.  They are big fish in a small pond and they dress up for one another.  No one else likes to see the blubber among the bling and sequins.  I bet Spanx pays for these affairs.  Wink
