Just popped in for a few before I resume duties of shuttle service.  Why do my kids have a far more exciting social life than I do?  Got caught up in Lindsey's thread, or at least I thought I did and when I just refreshed it was

Have not made it too Sinsuma yet.  Not sure I can take it.

Gizzie - sorry to hear about daughter moving out.  I have two out of the house (kind of) and it is not easy.  Then they come over for food, laundry and snacks so it is just like they have not really , moved out except they don't sleep here and have lost controll of the TV remote

Not sure how I will do when my daughter moves out.  She has a few years yet but that one will be hard so I can feel your pain.

I know she won't be coming over for the mama things, cause the boyfriend lives with his mama, and now she's taking over!

I didn't think it would be this painful! *sigh*

It may not be as rosy as she thinks it is. When she comes back, you can give her the little room. She will probably be glad to get it, and your son will be happy. I'm betting she is going to miss her mom.  an angelic monkey

BTW, I love your little pumpkin and trick or treaters, and I hope you know I snagged it.

My dad had two margarittas and fell at the Outback Steak House. His arm is cut, I took care of it, I told him he is not having no more liquor while he is here, I got mad at my husband because of the drinking, and now what a mess. I told my dad to put his pajamas on and sit still for the night. I am so upset I don't know what to do.

Oh my NoRose, I hope he is ok!

Seeking Justice for Caylee

« Reply #1384 on: September 26, 2009, 10:38:09 PM »

Good night JSM, NoRose and Fanny sweet dreams to you all.  Gizzie I was depressed for a month when my daughter left home but I have to tell ya she spent more time at home after she left than she did when she was home - it will be ok but I totally understand how you feel it is heartbreaking but hang in there.

Ohh, I hope you're right Fanny! I don't wish for it to be hard for her, to make her want to come back home, but I kinda do. I hope she misses me too!

I stole the smileys from QM I had a spider there too, but it wont set next to each other, it goes under it, so it makes my posts really big!

I was thinking that too, about her maybe still coming over a lot. Her job is half a block away. But she told me today she is transferring to an office in the town she's moving to. She isn't even moved out yet, and I'm going crazy about it! She's almost 20, I know it's time! Thank you! I'm trying to hang in there!  an angelic monkey

I want to be Polish or Canadian right about now.

Not really, I am proud to be an American, but I see the leaders of my country becoming socialist/communist A-holes with the backbone of a slug.

Gadhafi Cancels Visit to Canada After PM Harper Orders His Foreign Minister to Berate Him at the Airport Over Reception Lockerbie

http://www.weaselzippers.net/blog/2009/09/gadhafi-cancels-visit-to-canada-after-pm-harper-orders-his-foreign-minister-to-berate-him-at-the-air.html

I'll bet the Canadians are REALLY disappointed that Gadhafi is not coming to Canada.....

I wish we had somebody with ballz in the White House right now, and I wish someone would turn Ambassador Bolton loose on that miserable Libyan!!!

Well, this Canadien, eh , was very surprised as usually we do not take this kind of a stand. Once in a lifetime ! We don't want Gadhafi here or any other terrorists.

Fanny, reading about your Dad. Last year, I bought a pair of loafer slip on shoes that were flat and they had a honeycomb gripper pattern on the soles. Sears. I didn't fall down once last year. I have to get a new pair this year as my daughter's little doxie also liked my shoes and while I was there the devil doggie dragged one of them into her little bed and well, had a snack. Oh well, the dog is cute and what can a person do ?

Gizzie, the feelings you are having are perfectly normal. Your daughter is proof that you have done your job well as she is ready to exert her independence. Do not be surprised if these emotions ambush you at the strangest times. I had a hard time when our one and only child left home for college. He and I have always been close, but my husband had a difficult time also. I think we both knew that our lives would never be the same. The day before he moved out, hubby and I stopped at the grocery to get ingreients to make his favorite - chocolate chip cookies. I put a gallon of milk in my shopping cart and burst into tears. My husband was  and it was a few minutes before I could tell him what was wrong. I said "I'll never need to buy another gallon of milk!" Hubby  had tears in his eyes as well because it had started to sink in that our lives were going to change. That has been a number of years ago and the 3 of us laugh about that now. He lives 500 miles away and when he comes home I still bake cookies and for a short time I buy a gallon of milk. You will adjust and it does get easier. Thankfully, she won't be that far away. You are having these feelings because you love being a Mom. The good news is, that doesn't stop when they leave home. Blessings to you and to all who have a Mom's heart.

Blumonkey, Thank you. You said it so much better than I could have. It's hard when our children leave home. Wether we thinks it's a good reason or not. All we can do is be there to give them support when they need it.
Gizzie I know it's easy to say. As you are hurting right now, but it does get better with time you are still her mom and she will always be your daughter. I had all mine together for the first time in two years  last month for 4 days. I cherished every minute we had together & I spoiled them rotten.

Gizzie, I am not sociable either. That's why I like it when monkeys come here and talk about problems, happy and sad times and just come here for a laugh. Don't feel you are being nosy coming here. Post away. I am sorry your daughter is moving out and you are very sad. Hugs to you. JSM

Thanks for the hugs JSM, and thanks for saying I'm not nosy.

Gizzie, hugs. I left home for a boy one time, took a while, but came back home to my mama.

Her brother is happy as he is getting her room now. He's always gotten stuck with the small room, and always thought it wasn't fair. He keeps telling me to stop trying to make her feel bad so she won't change her mind. He really wants that room!

When she comes back like I did, give her the little room. That's what my parents did.  an angelic monkey
