The Aruba Tourism Authority will be taking part in a June 27-July 1 event for travel agents only at the Hilton Hotel on 2 Poydras Street (wherever that is) in New Orleans.

The event is sponsored by www.vacations.com, not Travelocity. That was my misunderstanding.

I forgot to tell you all.......... I traveled on American Airlines to Denver and back this weekend. They had an advertisement for an Aruban Hotel in their in-flight magazine "American Way." Needless to say, I added a few "Reviews" of Aruba to every copy I could find both there and back!!

It's actually right at the dome.  I think you enter the dome from Poydras so if one can see that dome, it would be easy to find Poydras.  It's all there right together.

No, it is actually on the river (not at the Superdome) -- I have stayed there 4-5 times.  There may be another Hilton there (I am postive there is a Hyatt at the Dome) as well.

From the West: Follow Interstate 10 to Downtown/East/Slidell, exiting at Poydras Street. The off-ramp becomes Poydras Street. Follow Poydras Street south where it ends at the hotel's front circle drive entrance.       

From the East: Follow Interstate 10 Downtown/West, exiting at Canal Street/Superdome. Follow signage to Superdome/Poydras Street, turning left onto Poydras Street. Follow Poydras Street south to where it ends at the hotel's front circle drive entrance.

Joran's book reveals a mean streak. I especially dislike the parts where he says that he was interested in Ruth early in the evening and hardly noticed Natalee. And the parts where he drags in a few unknown people getting off the bus or something. And the part where he has Natalee supposedly say something that will make the Kalpoes enraged. He's having a good time throwing stuff against the wall to see whom he can hurt and what might stick. I feel like he's laughing while writing some of this.

The directions are probably right. Poydras Street starts at the Mississippi River and goes West on past the Superdome. The Hilton is ON the river and the Superdome is about a mile East of there.  They are both "downtown" -- the Hilton is at the Edge of The French Quarter -East by the River. The Superdome is on the West side of Downtown and more South of the Quarter. Google the address I gave and see the map!
