WESH-Channel 2 briefly turned to the case of Casey Anthony tonight in a provocative recap.

Anchor Jim Payne asked, “Is her defense team trying to have it both ways when it comes to Roy Kronk?”

Kronk, then a meter reader, found the remains of toddler Caylee Anthony. Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in daughter Caylee’s death.

WESH studied the defense’s contradictory statements about Kronk.

“We believe he should have been looked into,” defense attorney Jose Baez said Monday. “He should have had his phone records searched just like everybody else.”

The defense maintains that law enforcement focused on Anthony too quickly and didn’t explore others extensively. The defense also wants to introduce testimony from a Kronk ex-wife who points to Kronk as a suspect in the toddler’s death.

But Payne added, “Baez says they’re not trying to make any disparaging remarks about Kronk, who has always denied any wrongdoing.”

Casey Anthony this week made her debut on a state Web site of convicted criminals.

Casey Anthony, accused of killing her daughter, Caylee Marie, is now among the thousands featured on the Florida Department of Corrections' Web site.

Casey Anthony's name turned up on the site — http://www.dc.state.fl.us —after she pleaded guilty in a felony check-fraud case.

As a result, Anthony, 23, is now a felon — even though she isn't serving her sentence in one of Florida's prisons.

Anthony is being held without bond in the Orange County Jail on a first-degree murder charge. That's where she's serving her check-fraud sentence, which includes one year of probation.

The state's Web site lists all the people who are incarcerated, serving probation or parole, or who have escaped from supervision.

Normally, the site also provides photos of those people. But, in Anthony's case, the photo is missing, as well as certain details about her physical characteristics, like hair and eye color.

The state's not in a hurry to update its Web site.
A probation officer will soon visit her at the jail to explain the conditions of her probation and what to do if she is released from jail, said Gretl Plessinger, spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections.

The probation officer may take a photo of her during the visit for the Web site, Plessinger said. Afterward, the probation officer will check on Anthony's status at the jail regularly.

"She's in jail, so we know where she is," Plessinger said. "She is not out in the community like our other offenders."

On Monday, Anthony pleaded guilty to 13 charges in a check-fraud case.

Orange County Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland found Casey Anthony guilty on six of the charges: one count of grand theft, four counts of check forgery, and fraudulent use of personal identification.

Strickland withheld adjudication for the remaining seven counts.

He sentenced Anthony to time served — 412 days she has already been jailed — and one year of probation. He also ordered her to pay the court and investigative costs associated with the check-fraud case.

The stolen money has already been repaid to Anthony's then-friend Amy Huizenga.
Anthony was caught on video writing checks at local stores, buying clothes and food. She also tried to pay a more than $500 cell phone bill, but by then the account had been drained.

In court, Anthony apologized to Huizenga, who was not present, and said she wished she had been a better friend.

Anthony cannot have any contact with Huizenga under the terms of her probation.

The state's Web site also offers another detail about Anthony's check-fraud punishment: Her probation is scheduled to end Jan. 24, 2011.

In the murder case, Anthony is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony in 2008.

She told authorities the toddler was kidnapped by a baby sitter — a person authorities said doesn't exist.

Anthony has pleaded not guilty in the case. Her lead attorney, Jose Baez, said Anthony is not going to plead guilty in the murder case. It's unclear when that trial will begin.

I am still fixating on Jeanene Barrett, the mitigation specialist....even more so after talking to a friend who's opinion is the mitigation specialist  (MS)is trying desperately to gather info on kc and the A's to assist Lyons......the MS and the PI seem to work closely together to me and I wondered why? well DUH idget, the PI is trying to finding anything/anyone to corroborate the fantasy KC has been feeding the
MS.  So I thought I would go back over some of the statements and reread Ryan Pasley's.  Lots of insightful info there.  On pg 14 RP says Cindy called in 3 to 3&1/2 weeks before the news that Caylee was 'missing' which would have put the call some time in mid/late June. (  Cindy KNEW something was wrong and still did nothing)  Cindy told him NOT to talk to Casey cause she didn't want him hurt. Cindy told him KC had been laying about a lot of things and had stole money from her and her grandmother. She also questioned him about some of the lies she said KC had  been telling (I  thinkit might have been about ehr working at Sports Authority) She told him that KC was a sociopath....he also found out that KC was doing drugs (she knew he had always been against drugs). RP also said JB called him several days after KC was arrested and asked him if he thought he would be a good character witness for KC. PR said he thought he would be more of a detriment....he said JB chuckled and hung up......chuckled no less!! on pg. 23 Yuri says she is narcissistic and she needs to tell the truth and stop hurting so many and RP says she is not going to do anything for anyone unless there is something in it for her. He also says he never heard of ZFG and he offered to go visit KC and see if she would talk to him. He also said she has always been kind of a hard ass.  This interview took place on 7/30/08. I got a good laugh at JB  think he will not be calling him as a witness    but I wouldn't be surprised if the State did.   I also don't think Ms. Barrett will be using him either   I was sure if this had been on audio I would have heard the disgust in Ryan's voice.

seeme- I am sorry.  I cannot imagine what you're going through.  Don't know how you feel about God, but I do know He's there for you when everyone else has gone to bed/gone home.  His line is never busy, He never sleeps, and He's lost someone too (Jesus). Praying for you.

Stopping by briefly to check in.  Have to say I was hit with a fresh wave of anger this afternoon.

I sincerely hope that when the States Attorneys present their case, they open with a video of someone emptying their kitchen trash can (as in pulling out the empty bag, gathering the top, and tying it shut.  I hope it is complete with pulling out a new bag, shaking it open, and putting it in the trash can.  Then I hope they voice over with the description of how Caylee Marie Anthony's remains were found bagged in a trash bag, which was placed in a second trash bag, which was then put into a cloth laundry bag..all items consistent with those found in Casey Anthony's home on Hopespring Drive and those remains were found 23 minutes from said home.

I hope every juror experiences the full implications of that act, as I did today.

Over on the Caylee Anthony case there was also some interesting developments this week. Casey Anthony plead guilty to the check fraud charges. This was hardly a surprise, it seemed like neither the prosecution not the defense could see any mileage in a protracted court case on the subject.

Was there a winner? Yes, this scored points for the prosecution. Andrea (I have never lost a death penalty case) Lyons will not be able to argue that Casey has a clean record. A statement that she would have loved to use in the penalty phase of this case if Casey is found guilty.

Jose Baez and the rest of the defense dwarfs team continue their mission of putting the blame on anyone but Casey. It is interesting that their tactic is to prove someone else did it, rather than their client did not do it. Having exhausted the ‘Zanny the nanny’ avenue and the Grund family they are now honing in on Roy Kronk.

So, it looks like Monday is the Big Reveal Day!  Any speculation on how the defense will frame, (if you'll pardon the expression,) their evidence that Caylee was placed at the remains site while Casey was in jail?  I couldn't look up court evidence for some reason, so I didn't see a date set for a hearing or anything.  I could use some enlightenment.
