COLLIER COUNTY — Adji Desir, the Immokalee 7-year-old who disappeared in January, will be one of six missing children appearing on the upcoming cover of People magazine.

The cover reads "Vanished Without a Trace: Heartbreak & Hope," and features the stories of young people who disappeared this year. The story was prompted by the August rescue of Jaycee Dugard, who was abducted in 1991 when she was 11 years old and held captive for 18 years in the California home of her alleged kidnappers, Phillip and Nancy Garrido.

Adji was last seen playing outside of his grandmother’s house in Farm Worker Village in Immokalee on Jan. 10, while his mother was at work. Authorities from across Florida traveled to Immokalee in January and combed the nearby fields and woods for nearly a week looking for Adji, to no avail.

Adji’s photo is also being featured on national direct-mail advertising fliers being distributed to 75 million homes across the United States from Nov. 8 through Dec. 13.

Anyone with information about Adji’s whereabouts can call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at (239) 793-9300, or to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). You can also visit www.colliersheriff.org.

We are expecting freezing temps next week, what do I do with my Calla Lilly bulbs?  They are still planted in a pot.  Do I bring the whole pot in, or do I need to remove the bulbs?  TIA

I say plant the bulbs and smoke the pot!

I forgot to ask about the banana tree also, it's in a big pot - can't bring it in - but what do you do with it?

I say smoke the pot with friends and then you will all have a much needed snack of bananas later.

Glad to help!

Is my green thumb showing?

Hi Jackie,

Your Calla Lily bulbs will be fine left in the pots even if you leave the pot outside. As most bulbs plants can handle the cold. Some even tell you to place them in cold storage for the wonter months. But if you leave them in the ground or pot they will multiply.

That's 'cause it's COLD out and they snuggle up to keep warm............... and well, we know what happens when you snuggle!

You all know what happens when I snuggle?

Yikes, did I leave the web camera on?

Bearly! Did you know that Santa's coming??

AND SuzieQ isn't taking it well!

Is SuzieQ afraid of Santa?

My son's friend tackled Ronald McDonald and bit him on the leg, once.

I hope Santa is safe!

Do we need an intervention?

It is fun to have a straight [wo]man to work with us here on the forum.

At least I think she is straight.

Well, straight or curly, it doesn't matter.

So...CBB is waiting for Santa to come.

May I suggest some enhancement products to expedite the process?

Up the chimney he rose, then he turned with a jerk.

I think I just heard Santa say ho ho ho.

CBB, maybe you should turn your web camera off.

hey all! i normally dont post in here but i have had a horrendus day and i need to vent.  so as a lot of you know, i work for child protective services... (the most broken, effed up system we have in this country..ughhh dont even get me started..) anyway....today this new employee needed help with the placement of a family of 7 children in foster care, so i helped her out. i took one van with 4 of the kids in it..and so as i was talkin to the kids, one of the little girls told me that today was her birthday... my heart almost broke. i felt soo bad. i didnt knwo what to do, i literally wanted to stop and buy her a birthday cake somewhere, but instead i took all the kids through the mcdonalds drive thru because there was no way i was getting 4 little kids out of a car to go buy a cake and i coudlnt leave them in a car alone..

i am so upset that this little 5 year old had to spend her birthday being placed in foster care. i honestly think i might cry myself sleep over this. ugh. i need thicker skin! i have been doing this job for 3 years since i graduated college and it still rips my heart out on a regular basis. sorry for the rant i just needed to express my feelings about this Sad

Ok - one more venting for all of you. I am just so pizzed I would love to scream - but it may scare the kids!

Our local fire department, that my dad served with honor for 20 some years, has a F'ing RSO handing out candy to the kids and working as Santa!  His probation clearly says he may not be in contact with kids under 17. The other firemen know. So I turned him in to his PO. She called today and said that none of the fire deparment will confirm he was there. So I thought, no problem, I will call my mother - she took my two nieces down there to trick or treat - and believe it or not - SHE SAID SHE WILL NOT CONFIRM IT TO ANY OFFICIAL!  WTF. This is the same person that did not talk to me for 2 years when my stepson molested my nieces AFTER WE IMMEDIATELY PUT HIM IN AN INSTITUTION.  And then she blamed ME for not protecting ALL the kids he molested. I just do not understand, Fire fighters are supposed to be honorable people. They are supposed to stand up for victims. Heck, this is the group I respected so much that when my son died I had memorials sent to them!  Now I am so angry I could just spit
