Thanks for the links Sharon. Somehow I just don't really connect the two, folk and rock LOL. When I think folk music, I think 60's, Vietnam, protest, telling a story.......but definitely a sound not heard  anymore. I personally like to watch the videos of the original artists performing when available such a nice opportunity MOO.

Bob Dylan......maybe more of a folk-rock artist. I love this early clip of him even though it is not a performance.......LOL the man is an original musical genius MOO. Sometimes though it was just the influence he was under  ::MonkeyCool::

But I think the term is used to differentiate from the 'folk music' that is more American Heritage -- Seeger stuff -- 'John Henry was a little baby', 'Old Dan Tucker' 'Oh, Mary don't you weep' stuff  ::MonkeyHaHa::

And I too love the old videos of the originals.
