Somebody could try going to the actual url, if they want to risk it, to see if their internet security throws up a warning.

I didn't get any warning.  Could also be a pop up ad trying to sell you security software?

The BASE url that WhiskeyGirl and maybe you visited would not have thrown up a warning as I already stated because there never was a problem there.

The problem is on a "subsidiary" page and the url to THAT page is:  arubanboycott.blogspot.com/2007/05/natalees-disappearance-still-making.html     I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE GO TO THIS URL UNLESS YOUR INTERNET SECURITY IS UP TO DATE. But, I would like to know if anyone else's security also warns them.

No, that was not a pop-up ad because I am already subscribed to Kaspersky Internet Security and that subscription will not expire for months. Kaspersky is, by far, better than Norton or McAfee and detects a great deal that they do not detect. Kaspersky would not be spamming an already-subscribed customer to subscribe, lol. Part of their protection prevents pop-ups and banner ads. I see the blank spaces here at SM for the banner ads but I can't see the actual ads. Kaspersky won't let them download. See what I mean?

Anyway, a front page or homepage can be perfectly innocent and the webmaster is perfectly innocent but then a second page or any subsidiary page may have malicious script dropped into its code and the original webmaster might not know anything about it.

Can't speak to security issues, I did find some oldie but goodies -

I'll try to help Lifesong.  Are you looking for links to posts about each event listed?  I would think there will be several for some on the list.  I'm not sure what we're looking for so just tell me what you need and I'll try to find it.

I'm pretty sure the passport was posted prior to May 1 or 2, 2008, but haven't found it yet.

When we told friends we were heading to Aruba, nearly everyone mentioned Natalee Holloway, the 18-year-old from Alabama who disappeared without a trace in 2005 on a high school graduation trip to the island. I would say...NOT 'without a trace', rather something like 'all traces continue to point to JVDS and a number of individuals from within law enforcement, judiciary, prosecutors office, tourism interests, and the family of suspects.  Major traces and balogna contine to be made public with regard to the many utterances of JVDS.  Can utterances from other players be far behind?

This year, 2009 many of Natalee's classmates will graduate college.  So sad that she remains behind in Aruba. 

How will they remember her at their graduations this summer?  Will there be sadness that one is left behind?  One didn't return home?

Will they wonder how life might be different if they had just stayed home or visited another vacation destination?  Maybe a place a little less exciting and exotic? 

So much time for grown up things and one didn't come home.

Is it possible your computer is being targeted?

Anything is possible, WhiskeyGirl. But, in this instance, I am not the specific target and I know the problem is at that specific (longer) url because in order to get the screenshot of my Kaspersky warning me, I had to go back there a second time to see if Kaspersky would warn me a second time. And sure enough, it did.

If this was some random pop-up virus or trojan or adware, it could pop-up anytime and going to any specific url would not necessarily cause it to pop-up. BUT, going back to the same url with the same exact result every time means the problem is at that specific url and nowhere else.

The screenshot I showed is of my own Kaspersky Internet Security software warning me. The image in the lower right with the yellow border sometimes shows the exact path on my computer where the virus might be quarantined, awaiting deletion (although I pretty much have all suspicious crapola set to automatically delete).

Scared Monkeys, as we all know, is an honest aboveboard clean website. But, even Scared Monkeys can be harmed by hackers and DOS-attackers and virus-writers. Nobody is immune. Saying that this happened on a subsidiary page of a website does not mean that the website itself or the webmaster is necessarily evil. She probably doesn't realize it's happening. Somebody who knows her should tell her to take down that page, rewrite it in Notepad, then put it back up. If the same thing happens again to her, then her code is not the problem, it is something in an ad or pop-up or the webhost provider's servers.

The fact remains, sooner or later Google will find out about the problem on this specific page and they will put a red danger warning in this lady's listing on Google or they may delete her from the search results altogether which could keep hundreds of visitors away. And who would THAT benefit? Hmmm...??? Detecting a motive for hacking, are we?

Connect the dots. Somebody needs to warn this lady. Also, Blogger will delete all accounts with this problem.

When I saw the problem, I wanted to warn my fellow Monkeys for their own safety but also, I was curious if anyone else's security set off a warning on that specific longer url. Plus, this webmaster doesn't deserve the headache this could cause them. Somebody who knows them should warn them but only after verifying for themselves that there is a problem on that specific page.

This guy is on Koh Tao in Thailand on holiday right now, we have just seen him and have copies of his passport from the local bike shop he rented a bike from. Speaking to some Dutch friends here on Koh Tao they say that he is supposed to be in a psychiatric hospital in Holland, but obviously not.

We weren't sure if there was a warrant out for him or not, so just contacted the local police and the US embassy. At the moment the local police have his passport, not sure if anything will come of this tomorrow or not, at the moment we've just left it with the local police.

How many have started families?  How many have married and divorced?  How many have passed from this earth after graduation?
