There were many red flags with this shooter, and the service men and women and their families at the very least need an explanation why they did nothing with this man. I'm sure we will never be told the truth, but I would hope for the families who have lost or had a love one injured they will get some explanation, they deserve that, at the very least.

I'm so sorry about your doggie.  I don't know what I'll do when Zoe gets old or sick!  I'm so attached to her---she's my kid since I don't have children.   

I am the same way Zoe and me, Josef is my child and I don't know what I would do without him. My prayers are with QM. 

Thank you both. I do have children and never want to know what it's like to lose one of them, but losing my dog does feel like I've lost one of my children. He was a dog, but he was such a part of the family, it's not the same without him. 

  It is going to take time - we lost our German Shepherd (who was my husbands shadow) in April, it was such and adjustment for him not having him with him every minute.  Time will heal.

Raleigh, N.C. — A man facing accused of sexually abusing and murdering a 10-month-old girl made his first court appearance Tuesday.

Joshua Andrew Stepp, 26, of 1223 Silver Sage Drive, Apt. 303, was charged Monday with first-degree sex offense and first-degree murder in the child's death.

Authorities would not elaborate Tuesday on Stepp's relationship with the child.

Police responded to an emergency call shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday at Stepp's home, and paramedics transported the infant to WakeMed, where doctors pronounced her dead.

During Stepp's court appearance Tuesday, Wake County District Judge Craig Croom appointed him an attorney and set another court date for Dec. 1.

Stepp remained in the Wake County Jail Tuesday afternoon on a $500,000 secured bond for the first-degree sex offense charge. The murder charge carries no bond.
