Thanks Lifesong and Magnolia, I really appreciate the compliment!

Lifesong, I've spent a little time on at least one of your questions...but I want to do some more checking after work, it's been a while so I want to refresh my memory some more before I answer.

and I'm with you 100% on this too!

Natalee Holloway’s father asks Lancaster couple to speak out

Divers in Aruba put their search on hold.  They've been looking for the exact area, where a Lancaster County couple took a picture of what could be Natalee Holloway's remains. The Alabama teen went missing while on vacation in 2005.

Aruban authorities haven't been able to find the spot where the picture was taken, now they're searching for the tour guide who took the Lancaster County couple out to sea that day.

John Muldowney says it shouldn't be too hard to find his former tour guide in Aruba.

" I said, if you want to find out, ask them who gave a 40 dollar tip."

That's how much money John gave the guide to move his scooter on and off the boat.  John also talked to us about all of the media attention he and his wife, have been getting after taking a photo of what could be the missing Natalee Holloway.

" Patti said no more interviews no more interviews please, until they do something, until they find something."

He says the attention is overwhelming.
" The dad called me. Because we weren't going to go on CNN or Nancy Grace."

Natalee Holloway's father convinced the couple to speak up in hopes that their actions would lead investigators to what could possibly be his daughter's remains.

"If it's someone else's person, they'll have closure. But it would be nice if that is actually going to be her remains."

John says he's hopeful that divers will find that tour guide so the search can go on.

Thank you, Klaas!

Am I the only one kind of confused about all of this?  I mean, I'm glad Dave encouraged them to speak out and get/keep Nat's case in the news....but why on earth didn't (aren't?) the cage photos getting the same treatment?

Is it because the FBI really is investigating Silvetti/Kingman/the search, etc. or is it because the family thinks there's nothing to it or they don't want to offend the searchers and hurt their chances of receiving other help in the future, or what?

I guess I just don't understand why even an extended family member doesn't show these pictures and expose this mess.  I'm hopeful its because there's an active FBI investigation, but I have to be honest - I now have very little faith in our FBI as it relates to this case.  I certainly don't think they've done all they could do.

JMO and only MO.

I think that we have to remember that the FBI has no jurisdiction in Aruba.  They can only participate
in the investigation at Aruba's request.
The FBI sent divers in the first few days after Natalee was last seen and Aruba never allowed them
to put a toe in the water.  The FBI agents sent to Aruba were never allowed to participate in any
questioning of suspects.  Aruba didn't want help and we can't force them to take help.
Paulus knew that from the very beginning.

I do not believe this is NH.

If there is a possibility of it being her, I am certain they will not allow it to be discovered.
I am sure they have checked (behind the scenes) to ensure they control the outcome (once again).

Five long years later, with countless roadblocks and disinformation campaigns, there is no way in hell scuba divers from Pennsylvania will get hero ribbons for having solved this case. If so, I will eat my words with ketchup on a spoon.

Going further out on a limb, I do not think they can even stage a discovery at this point that would be believable.

Justice will probably come in the form of loose lips, who reveal the story over time. Karma will also come into play. Peripheral damage will also come in the form of a lack of solid tourism existence and/or growth. They will forever have a black eye from their golden boy, Joran.

Until the day comes when someone grows a set of balls, prosecutes the perpetrators, and sincerely displays to the world a sense of genuine sorrow for the hell created unto the family, things will generally stay the same for their blemished reputation. Carribean countries rely on tourism dollars as a backbone to their economies. The smart countries take a serious and staunch position to protect its tourists(whether American or other), and ultimately, its livelihoods. Those who do not take it serious do eventually pay the consequences.

The road has been paved for Aruba...The guy who they defended, Paulus, no longer exists. He is dead. His disrespectful son, Joran, does not have the established ties that his father supposedly did. There are new faces within the investigation. As good as they are at concocting stories, they should be able to create one sufficient enough to solve this crime. Time will tell.

Paulus knew that from the very beginning.

The FBI's lack of being allowed to assist was vital to the success of their covering this crime.
They had to stand on the sidelines. Aruba knew damn well they would never ask for their help.
Why? Because asking for their help would have solved the case in less than a week, if not day.

Their version of CSI was:

(1) VanderStraaten (godfather to main suspect/best friend of hidden suspect, who was main suspects father), (2) Jacobs (puppet to VanderStraaten and narcotics (haha) specialist who hid all evidence in bottomless desk drawer), Jaansen (another puppet of VanderStraaten, former colleague of PVDS), corrupt judges (took leave of absence to block searches, guide VDS suspects through their "tough time", throw out evidence, release suspects, manipulate witness/suspect status' of those involved).

Then consider disinformants: Renfro, Purcell, Geerman(aka CLW), CharlesCroes, etc...

Don't forget to throw in: (1) Schippers (the Aruban legal eagle), (2)Tickle-me-Tito (who bumbles over his own words), (3)Trapenburg (social butterfly), (4)Dompig (who noticed the ocean surveillance happened to be turned off that night), (5)that everyone is somehow related to one another on the island

Additionally: MickeyMouse style interrogations, fires at the dump, ten day "initial surveillance" of main suspects, botched ocean searches, missing casino footage, tapped telephone coomunications, untimely Aruban suicides, internationally televised interviews (riddled with lies), etc..

Add all of the aforementioned and what do you get? A country who spent every ounce of effort imagineable to cover a crime instead of the minimal effort required to solve it. At the end of the day, Aruba sure better ask themselves if it was worth. As the proverbial saying goes - Live by the sword, die by the sword. If international media had not swarmed to the island and gave the press that it did, two black security guards would be in prison today for that crime. At least Beth and company made them sweat it out, literally. The profuse sweater has sweat one too many times...

I am of the opinion that most on that island know the exact details of that fateful evening. It just happen to be a big secret and throughout the years, it has turned into an Aruba vs World battle. But, with corruption as prevalent as displayed, the cards were truly stacked against the family. With odds like that, I don't know who could have succeeded in attaining justice.

To quote a family member..."The effort was supurb, the game was fixed."

JVM covered it a bit last night too...

Renfro was speaking for a minute....

We begin with Julia Renfro who joins us by telephone from Aruba. She is the editor-in-chief with "Aruba Today". Julia, what is the very latest?

JULIA RENFRO, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, "ARUBA TODAY" (via telephone): The -- hi, by the way.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Hi.

RENFRO: The authorities have received the information from the FBI. They have the photographs. They have the information. They have the location. And currently are planning an underwater search, although not by the request of the authorities. Someone has actually gone and re- photographed with a higher-quality camera the location.
From this point -- from this point, it`s going to be up to the authorities whether or not to -- they will continue the investigation -- to confirm whether or not it is the remains of Natalee Holloway or possibly just a rock formation.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So Julia, that`s new information, you`re saying that -- ok. This is the photo from the couple from Pennsylvania. But you`re saying that someone, possibly the government, has sent out another team that has photographed -- that`s gotten a more high-resolution photograph of this same possible skeleton?

RENFRO: This -- this location has been re-photographed and the information will be sent to Holland to the NFI, to the Dutch forensic institute, who will then review the photographs and make a decision whether or not to send scientists to Aruba to dig up the remains --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, Julia, I`ve got to say, it doesn`t make a lot of sense to me. Why not just put on a mask and some snorkels and go down there and find out if it`s for real? I mean, to send all this stuff to Aruba --

RENFRO: You need to be a scientist. You need to be a forensic evidence scientist in order to touch this information because you could destroy possible evidence. And that`s why they do not want anyone to touch this -- this particular --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Ok. You`re making a good point. I stand corrected. I see what you mean. You don`t want to --

RENFRO: I believe Tim Miller will agree with me 100 percent on this.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right, Tim, do you agree that we shouldn`t just put on a pair of snorkels and go down there and just get close enough to see if it`s a real skeleton or if it`s just a bunch of rocks?

MILLER: Who, me?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Yes, Tim.

MILLER: Now, you know what I think that it`s rock formation. When we did the deep-water search over there two and a half years ago, we found many formations that looked like it could be a body. And in the -- you know it Jane, it would be totally impossible for a skeleton to be intact at the bottom of the sea in Aruba with the currents and the waves as strong as they are.

You know, I could see maybe finding a skull or something, but for it to be intact without it being in some type of container, I just don`t see that happening. And I think that Dave is pretty much on the same page as that.

snipped.......
VELEZ-MITCHELL: But Julia Renfro, Joran van der Sloot has reportedly changed his story yet again and said, "Oh, it`s totally different, she fell after a night of alcohol and drugs, we put her body in a marsh." The story keeps changing.

Julia, if this turns out to be Natalee`s skeleton, what happens to Joran? Where is he, anyway?

JULIA RENFRO, EDITOR IN CHIEF, ARUBA TODAY: In this particular situation to answer your guest, the Holloways, nor the Twittys have returned to Aruba after this information, by the way. And then on top of that Joran has told many conflicting stories. The recorded statement that he --

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Where is he?

RENFRO: He is back and forth between the Netherlands and the Netherlands Islands.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So in other words, does he ever go to Aruba?

RENFRO: Yes, he does.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So he can go back and forth. He has not been banned from Aruba?

RENFRO: No. Of course not. Of course not.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1003/22/ijvm.01.html

I heard this interview.  Seems to me Julia was hedging.  Why didn't she just answer the q. as to where Joran is.  "The Netherland Islands" - you mean Aruba don't you Julia...c'mon spit it out!

Was that another intended slam at Natalee's parents when she stated they haven't returned to the Aruba in light of this new information?  I believe it was!

Un-freaking-believable!  I mean, seriously.  Even for Aruba this is sub-par.  Julia Renfro should be banned from American televison.

Which is it Julia?  Are they "currently planning an underwater search" or are they waiting for the NFI to "make a decision whether or not to send scientists to Aruba"?

You stupid b@tch.

And how do you answer a question about what happens to Joran and where is he with Dave/Beth didn't come here to check this out?  Lord, your ignorance and evilness never cease to amaze.

I hope one of your children never comes up missing, Renfro, or is the reason another's child comes up missing - though it would certainly serve you right. Maybe you should think about that the next time you decide to show your bare bottom on American television by attempting to carry water for the van der sloots.

No one is interested in seeing your a$$, stop showing it please.

POST OF THE DAY!

WHY media outlets continue to interview this tool of the Vandersloot's is beyond me.  One more injustice is piled on Natalee and her family each and every time her voice is heard in regards to this case!

I think it is because she is physically on the island, has a pulse, and can speak English?

That is how hard up the media is for an interview from that island. It really speaks volumes.

The fact that they would consider interviewing a puckery washed up alcoholic filthy old bench whore from an Aruba promotional magazine... and try to pass her off as a journalist, is a joke.

Aruba Today is a coupon rag book, they don`t even WALK BY the news much less report it.

Do the producers even READ what that Renfro slag puts out? You think they would do a little
background checking.... AT THE VERY LEAST.

JVM needs to grow a pair, like NG, and give the bish a good smack down when she deserves it.

A good example would be:

JVM: Has he been banned from Aruba?

Renfro: Of course not. Of course not.

OF COURSE NOT?

(Gang-raping murderers are never banned in Aruba. It would shut the place down. )

Natalee Holloway: Family attorney speaks to CBS 21 News

Reported by: Dawn Hensley
Last Update: 6:10 pm

The attorney representing Natalee Holloway's estate tells CBS 21 News that her family has gone through so many possible leads, they are laying low this time.

John Kelly and Natalee's mom say they don't want to go through the disappointment again, and that if the pictures taken by a Lancaster County couple are just of a rock formation, that's another disappointment.

Kelly tells CBS 21 News that he feels the Muldowney's were hanging onto other pictures.

However, the couple told CBS 21 News they had six pictures which they have turned over to the FBI.

Investigators also took pictures that Muldowneys' friends had as well.

Here are a few of the questions I have, and I apologize if this information has been covered and I've missed it.  Per the doctors, I am now allowed to claim a bit of brain damage if it works to my advantage.    Monkey Devil!

1.  Did we ever find out if Eduardo Mansur participated in the January 7th evidence recovery dive?

2.  http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=5922.msg963275#msg963275  I have a boatload (pun intended) of questions about this, as I don't recall ever having seen this email exchange before.  I'll start with the most obvious... the "friend" Silvetti is asking Caps about... is that Geerman?

3.  Does anyone know if the family was ever offered the opportunity after this all came out to view the ROV footage of the January 7th evidence recovery dive?  If so, which side of the family?  Dave?  Beth?  I assume Tim Miller has not been given access to it either?

That's enough for now.

Chins up Monkeys!  You ROCK!!  And Today We Are One Day Closer To Justice For Natalee!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to this Lifesong.  I'm coming down with something and have felt like crapola all day today.  I wish I KNEW more because you have asked some really good questions!

1.  To my knowledge we don't know if Eduardo Mansur was part of the team that collected the evidence on Jan 7, 2008.

2.  I think the "friend" could be the witness Geerman, but I think it could also be Jossy Mansur.  This email would have been after John Silvetti attended the Mansur family wedding in June 2008, and after the articles about the Monserat pond were published in the Diario (Sept 2008).  IIRC we thought Jossy may have been the one helping John Silvetti set up an office in Aruba and that's why I think Silvetti could have been trying to reach him.

3.  I don't know, but wish I did!

I am here in Aruba on Wednesday, March 24 and there is an islandwide power outage right now. No power on the entire island. Not sure what is happening or when it will be restored. Sun is coming up now and it seems the power went out about 4am. With no air conditioning and no refrigeration, it might be a challenge today.

Reading on it appears power was back on by 11am

Dive into Action 'skeleton' does nothing Holloway

ORANGE CITY - Police said Sunday plunged into the "skeleton" of the missing American teenager Natalee Holloway. This happened following a dive a photo that American couple in Aruba last year has taken. However, the divers could not find the right location, reports the Public Ministry.

"The police are now engaged in the reconstruction of the site. With the company that the couple has gone into hiding, is now trying to find the exact location, "said OM spokesperson Angela Ann. The U.S. can not do well anymore indicate where the photo was taken. "They can no longer remember well," says Angela. The couple took the pictures during a holiday in October last year. Only later they saw that one of the pictures may be seen a skeleton. She gave the picture to the FBI and pulled the alarm when she heard nothing. Only last Saturday was the Aruban investigation team photo and a new search is started. Justice assumes that the photographs real ', says Angela.

Forensic expert Josh size of the Leiden University Museum, however, doubts the authenticity of the skeleton. He said in an interview for Radio Netherlands. "Let us note that it may have a disappointing outcome. There are a lot of people died who have sunk to the seabed. "It is difficult to even identify the remains, said Maat. DNA decays rapidly in the tropical sea water promotes the dissolution process.

This may have already been posted...it's a few days old.

Aruba ready to investigate if Natalee Holloway body found

Published on : 20 March 2010 - 10:15am | By RNW English section    (Photo: WHDV-TV)

The authorities on the island of Aruba say they have not yet been informed about underwater photos possibly showing the remains of Natalee Holloway. Aruban officials add, however, that they are willing to consider any new information in the case.

The pictures, taken in October 2009 by US holidaymaker Patti Muldowney who was diving off Aruba with her husband John, were widely shown in American media.

Mr and Mrs Muldowney are convinced that their photos show a human skeleton, which they think could well belong to US teenager Natalee Holloway who disappeared in 2005. They told WHDH-TV in Boston that they did not develop the photos until December 2009, and when they had made their discovery, contacted Natalee Holloway's father, who allowed them to go public with it.

The couple handed the photos to their local FBI office in Philadelphia, which is reportedly establishing contact with the nearest legal representative of the FBI in the Caribbean, in Bridgetown, Barbados. The FBI can only help if the Aruban authorities formally request their assistance. Earlier co-operation between Aruba's police and the FBI in the Holloway case was also arranged via Barbados.

The main suspect in the case, Dutchman Joran van der Sloot, has never been formally charged with Natalee Holloway's disappearance. Prosecutors failed to find sufficient evidence against him.

Location unknown
Aruban authorities emphasise that every new piece of information in the case will be scrutinised, and say that these photos, once they are in the hands of local police, will also be closely investigated. Police divers will probably search the underwater spot, whose exact location remains unknown.

Public Prosecutor Rob Pietersz told RNW that no official notification had been received, but that the authorities are willing to consider any indication they get. As soon as the photos are in the possession of the Aruban authorities they will be sent to the Netherlands Forensic Institute to be verified. Aruban investigators say they would like to talk to the Muldowneys, if only for a global indication of the spot where the pictures were taken. The US couple never got in touch with Aruba police, which is in charge of the case, rather than the FBI.

Drowned immigrants
Local sources on Aruba say that one should be careful when drawing conclusions from the pictures: they may show coral formations which only suggest the shape of a skeleton. And if they are indeed human remains, the sources say, bear in mind that several illegal immigrants trying to reach Aruba drowned in the ocean, never to be seen again.

Wonder what those same "Local sources" have to say about human remains found in a crab/fish trap with a blue tarp nearby...surely they wouldn't try to write that off as an illegal immigrant trying to reach Aruba too?  Maybe those same sources might have some insight into WHY Aruban ALE didn't stick with the plan discussed on recovery of those remains...but instead swept in like thieves and took everything and then took two weeks to decide exactly what they'd share with the FBI?  WHY has there been no public acknowledgement of those human remains found over TWO YEARS AGO?

I am here in Aruba on Wednesday, March 24 and there is an islandwide power outage right now. No power on the entire island. Not sure what is happening or when it will be restored. Sun is coming up now and it seems the power went out about 4am. With no air conditioning and no refrigeration, it might be a challenge today.

Reading on it appears power was back on by 11am

Left the failed boiler making Aruba a few hours without electricity came to be.

ORANGE CITY - For four hours this morning fell across the island from the stream. Also, a large number of households are without water because the water pressure dropped due to interference. Water and Electric utility Aruba (WEB) announced that the boiler 7 and probably went into a chain reaction the rest of the boilers which also dropped power faltered.

The Recip engines, designed to combat blackouts, fell out. These engines are purchased several years ago. "This was not the intention and that we also examine" said Boekhoudt Oslin, Director of WEB. He said this morning that the current afternoon on the island should be restored.
The company fell to four hours of power. Two hours later the gas turbine WEB restarted, so the repairs could begin. Around half past six Santa Cruz received power at ten past seven and there was light in Orange City. Only half past ten at San Nicolas had electricity again.
Valero oil refinery was also hit by the outage. This had little impact, said a spokesman. "Our staff responded immediately to the failure began in the early morning and already working on the problem. We have also had contact with WEB and currently supply electricity to the electricity network of the island. "Reina Beatrix Airport just kept running and traffic was not delayed. Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) said to have been little affected by the outage. "Only the computers in the office did not work", said spokesperson Hendrik Croes.

Prison in dark
The power cuts were all but out of traffic. At the crossing at the airport police regulated traffic. According to reports last night were related to the outage more burglaries. The police spokesman could not confirm this morning. But he reported that more police on the streets and that the police helicopter patrolling. The power cut also affected KIA prison. "The emergency generator was also fact. This was in October last year even though the case. Since then no maintenance performed or money earmarked for a new, "said Solognier watch commander. Employees walked around with flashlights. The situation in the prison itself was still safe. "All prison doors are still closed by hand," said Solognier.

Hospital
The power failure had no effect on the Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH). The hospital two years ago to install two new generators. These devices have the power cut last night captured, said spokesman Bob Harms. "A few seconds after the power failure occurred and force them into doing what they should do." In the hospital overnight no operations performed, enabling the effect of the disturbance was small anyway.
Most schools were open as usual this morning. EPB only San Nicolas was at the end of the morning with a press statement, which they called for their parents to come pick up children urgently. Because of the power teachers could not teach.

No radio
Companies were also affected. The office of health insurance MWV was closed, because no computer worked. The staff was sent home with the message that later in the day tried to be open. Ling & Sons has a generator that automatically enters a power outage. The only burden the supermarket this morning had was the fact that some ticket office could not run. Morning Newspaper Diario also experienced problems. An employee said the newspaper at about half was printed when the power went out for three hours. Diario was after the restoration of the stream still printed and delivered with some delay. Even radio stations were off the air. Most of these were around seven hours again this morning listened to.

Silvetti and company made sure that the crab trap was dismissed by allowing ABC to show
the thumbs down and Tim having to retract his statement to Dave.  That pretty much diminished
the importance of the find.  At that time, nobody would question the mission of the Persistence.
It is no wonder nobody wanted to buy the footage when Kyle started shopping it around.
