Geography
McCleary is located at 47°3′19″N 123°16′8″W / 47.05528°N 123.26889°W / 47.05528; -123.26889 (47.055359, -123.268859)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.8 square miles (4.7 km²), of which, 1.8 square miles (4.7 km²) of it is land and 0.55% is water.


Demographics
As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 1,454 people, 555 households, and 376 families residing in the city. The population density was 800.2 people per square mile (308.5/km²). There were 583 housing units at an average density of 320.9/sq mi (123.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 94.36% White, 0.21% African American, 0.89% Native American, 0.28% Asian, 0.76% from other races, and 3.51% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.20% of the population.

There were 555 households out of which 32.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.3% were married couples living together, 13.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.1% were non-families. 27.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.00.

In the city the population was spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 18.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 91.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $30,769, and the median income for a family was $36,534. Males had a median income of $33,421 versus $25,417 for females. The per capita income for the city was $14,249. About 12.2% of families and 17.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.9% of those under age 18 and 24.5% of those age 65 or over.

Lindsey's friend's is approx 4 blocks from Lindsey's house, and is on MAPLE St.  I could not find the exact address so went to 4th street intersection.  It is probably closer than that as Maple runs into 3rd to jog over to Mommens. 
When you blow up the google map, 3rd shows as the old highway you see on this map(in yellow).  I don't know if you walk down the old highway or not, or if there is a parellel street which is 3rd. 

Memmons also turns into Fir Street then back into Memmons, but you don't see it on this map.  So this map might be a little bit off.  I will fix it later if we find out it in not exactly correct but this shows us basically where Lindsey was walking. 

I will use this map as a blank and keep adding anything we find of interest.

so if she went up 6th, instead of east on Maple, then she went down a lot of steets to not get on 3rd.  let me find out who lives on the other streets she would have went down if she went up 6th.  I also would not know if she went up 2nd or 1st once across the highway.

where did the other kids who were walking her partway, leave her ?  wouldn't they know if she went up that street or what?  or did they leave her before she got to 6th?

I did not know where to begin on Maple to get to 6th so I just started there at 6th

MASON COUNTY SHERIFF ASSISTS IN SEARCH FOR MCCLEARY CHILDBy Dedrick Allan 07/03/2009
Mason County Sheriff's Deputies have been asked to assist in the investigation of the disappearance of 10-year-old Lindsey J. Baum of McCleary. Four detectives from the Sheriff's Office Special Operations Group are assisting the McCleary Police Department and Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office in following up on a large number tips coming in about the disappearance. Mason County Detectives have also assisted the investigation by verifying addresses and providing information to the investigation about registered sex offenders in west Mason County. Lindsey went missing last Friday, while walking home from a friend's house about ten blocks to her home. Although the search for Lindsey is tapering off, investigators still would like to talk to anyone who may have seen anything unusual in McCleary between 9 PM and 10 PM June 26th. Lindsey Baum is described as a white female, 10 years old, 4-foot-9, 80 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing blue jeans, black sneakers, and a hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information on Lindsey's whereabouts is asked to call the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office at (800) 562-8914.

Search ramps up for McCleary girl

After four days, searchers say they're trying to remain optimistic. Today Grays Harbor County called in the State Patrol's plane for help.

More dogs were called out to look in the neighborhood where Lindsey was last seen walking home from a friend's house Friday night.

Every option is still on the table for police, who say Lindsey could have been injured, lost, kidnapped or just ran away.

"We have not found evidence, we have not found circumstances, witnesses or information that speaks specifically as to what happened to Lindsey," said Scott.

Instead of kids playing in Jim Mullin's creek, search dogs were back on his property. It's the sixth time his place has been searched.

First thing that I noted in the photos was a lack of sidewalks..
So she had to walk in the street to get to where she was going..
Easy for a person to stop and snatch her.
