County Files Response To Casey's Defense Request

ORLANDO, Fla.-- Orange County, which runs the jail, says Casey Anthony should not get special treatment. The county filed court papers Monday, responding to her defense team's request that she not be videotaped without audio when she meets with her lawyers at the jail.

Also, that previous videotapes should be destroyed and that those public records are not disclosed.

The county says it has the legal right to have security video at the jail and does not have the legal right to destroy or withhold public records.

Jail security is one of five issues that will be heard at Casey's court hearing on Friday morning.

I see no way that the jail is going to destroy videos, videos of anyone, that makes zero sense. I can see how the defense doesn't want any videos released from the jail, but destroy them

Good Morning, and anyway I'm guessing we saw the videos of the Anthony's visiting Casey already, so I don't see a reason to destroy that. Now, should that have been released to the public, I'm not sure, but it was entertaining. I can see that the lawyers wouldn't want any videos of them with their client released, and the public shouldn't see that anyway, but destroy, no way.

I can't see Judge Strickland allowing them to be destroyed just for the simple fact.....an appeal, which we know if convicted, there will be one. IMO

I was just thinking and well, I wonder how much of the blood money they will use to give gifts to needy children this year in Caylee's honor.. Last year,those "gifts" were purchased by others and put on site as a memorial tribute to Caylee, so well Anthony's.. put your blood money where your mouth is. You used that money to give yourselves a cruise, so what about those needy children you claimed you would continue to donate gifts to?

ORLANDO -- News 13 is digging deeper into one of the main arguments that's expected to play out in the case against Casey Anthony.

"The body or the remains of Caylee Anthony were placed there after Casey Anthony was locked up at the Orange County Correctional Facility and that proves her innocence," said defense attorney Todd Macaluso on Aug. 21.

Anthony’s defense team is lining up witnesses to back up that statement.

They're talking to everyone who may have been in the woods where Caylee's remains were eventually found.

They have video of people searching that area they're likely to use in court.
   
But the state has evidence it feels proves Caylee's remains were in the woods before Casey went to jail.

They have former meter reader Roy Kronk, who said he saw something suspicious in August.

There's also a botanist report which indicates Caylee's remains were in the same place for at least four months.
   
Casey Anthony will be back in court for a hearing this Friday.
