This heart thing has me all torn up.

It's early, but my working theory is that H. Lee and Co. will try to make hay of the additional hair found, and the subsequent hairs found on the pizza box and soda can could very well be from an unrelated source (delivery guy, or store merchant). Defense will point out that Caylee's hair beng in the trunk is no big deal, by pointing to the obscure hairs as evidence of how easy a transfer is.

The"dead ring", they wil "expertly" argue is not a "dead ring".

I'm no saying it will work, but I'd bet that's where they're going.

It seems to me that all this defense has to work with is the possibility of "reasonable doubt" which is why I think Cindy and Geo were pushing the Casey '08 campaign down everyones throats.  The defense has no usable or workable evidence at this point.

This request was made in October.  It is likely back by now.  LE can sit for a long time on it. 

Have not seen any receipt.

The prosecution could be holding on to that for the very last second.  They could be wanting to use it to disprove Baez's incest or molestation defense....just thinking out loud here.

But this is strange to me, would there have been a specific reason, or did LE maybe just had a hunch, which I seriously doubt, there must have been something to test Lee's DNA to Caylee's DNA.

What's with Dr. Lee examining various pieces of evidence, and all of a sudden strands of "hair" showing up on several items?  I've been trying to go back into the dumped documents this afternoon to copy and paste here, but with the servers being pushed to their limits, I can't get back in.

Did someone say the Dr. Lee had tampered with evidence with OJ's evidence, or was that some else?  How can things like that happen without someone not being prosecuted for their criminal actions?

Likely carried her out of the house as if she was packing to leave the premises.  Good theory.

Well, IF IF IF he is the father, or is the defenses way of trying to buy sympathy for a molested Casey, I sure hope that the prosecution rebuttals with all of the photos of Lee holding Caylee as well as all the smiles, high fives, and hugs photos of Casey and Lee.
Why would you allow your child to be around a known offender?  Why would you be all sweet and happy with someone who has sexually abused you to the point it caused you to murder your offspring?

I think once they were forced to get his DNA, that was when the request was made.  I think they knew something and possibly LP was tipped off previously.  Perhaps there is something in an interview with someone close to the family that came up, and we are yet to see that interview.  Annie is my guess.

If that is the case than this entire family needs to be jailed for conspiracy.  George saying he saw both Caylee and Casey leave, Cindy saying she heard them both in their room, and Lee for being a dumbass.

Just my pea sized legal knowledge talking, I but thought the defense is allowed to have all the evidence that LE has. Once testing has been completed. Hey, I say stall giving Bayass anything til the day before the trial.

So far these documents are short on testing results and long on creating many more questions.

Probably huffed and puffed packing her things to leave.  In the midst of that she shut Caylee up for good.  Likely she did carry stuff to her car, and one of those items was a laundry bag containing her daughter.  How sad.

It sure appears that is exactly what happened.

People were asking back then if Lee could be the father. If we all wondered if he could

Couple that with the thought of Lee possibly being the father and her being saddled with the responsibility and I would say that exponentially increases those feelings.

Of course, if it were relevant to the case.  Lee's DNA not matching to Caylee's does not seem relevant to the case, other than to dispute rumors swirling on the internet of incest.

Lee did tamper with evidence, but I don't think it was OJ's case. That hair on the back of the pizza box and soda can was found upon 2nd inspection after Lee left. Defense will also try to highlight that as evidence of "sloppy" work by LE, IMO.

Something I didn't want to bring up but I'm sure everyone's considered it.  Duct tape is so wide that it would easily cover a baby's mouth and nostrils unless it was separated lengthwise.  Of course then it'd have ragged edges which'd be easily discernable.  That fact that there was a heart sticker on it leads me to believe LE may have found other heart stickers at house (maybe).  That'd certainly be one thing to tie remains back to the accursed place. 

I haven't read any of the docs yet.  Guess I better brace myself. :gaah:

Overwhelming indeed...hoping the blanket & other items come back with DNA from Casey to seal the deal.   What is telling is how hard Cindy went out of her way to cover for Casey, this tells me just how guilty she is...tsk tsk Cindy    And bodily fluid was still found on Casey's pants that Cindy laundered wow & yet she wasnt calling the police immediately?    What the Anthonys have to explain is why they didnt call 911 right from the tow yard like ANYONE else would have

The docs have settled one thing for me. Casey had been using the term "Zanny" for a while; before Caylee went missing. The name Zenaida apparently only came up after the fact.

The docs also quote a co-worker of Cindy saying that Casey yelled as much at George as Cindy did.........

Boy, what an environment to raise a 2 year old in. That poor child.

ORLANDO, FLA. --   The latest twist in the Casey Anthony case comes from the man who at one point gave her a “get out of jail free” card and may tie her brother, Lee Anthony, into the saga.
Bounty Hunter Leonard Padilla made national headlines when he bonded Anthony out of jail, but although he’s back in California, he’s not keeping himself too far away from the case of the missing 3-year-old toddler, Caylee Anthony.
Padilla said that he believes something didn’t add up about the preliminary DNA test results that came back last week from the trunk of Anthony’s car. Officials found strands of hair that they ruled could have either been Casey’s or Caylee’s.
“The Feds released information that the hair was either the mother’s or the daughter’s; they didn’t distinguish,” Padilla said. “Why would they not know whether it was the daughter or the mother? They didn’t say it was Caylee’s.”
Padilla said that officials ruled it was Caylee’s hair just by a process of elimination because the hair had a death ring around it and they know Casey is alive. The fact that the DNA is identical has something to do with who the father is, Padilla said.
“Would the DNA from a child resulting from a union from Lee and Casey have basically the same characteristics? Making the preliminary DNA check not definitive as to who the hair samples are from,” he said. 
Padilla’s statements come at a time when police have filed more charges against Casey Anthony, who has already been arrested twice. Officials charged Casey Wednesday with two counts of uttering a forged check, two counts of petty theft and two counts of fraudulent use of personal identification.

why did they take buccal swabs of brian burner.  In doing a quick lookup they are used for DNA retrieval.  Why would they test just him and not his entire family?  I thought that was strange.

Maybe they were in the laundry bag at one point in time, and then Casey pulled out all of the laundry in order to place her dead child in after slaughtering her, then placed it in the trunk where it leaked through the laundry cloth like bag onto clothing and the floor of the car, so she then used a garbage bag to place the laundry bag in and dispose of it.

I think they did a Buccal swab of Brian because they found Hair on the shovel within the sticker ... trying to see for comparison ..for identification of hair or DNA found. Not sure.

Item K-1, which is a DNA Parentage test report - do we know if that's the report from back when Jesse wanted testing done to see whether or not he was Caylee's Dad?

Who was it that told us early on that LE knows very well who Caylee's dad is?  I know LP did, but did anyone else?

Even though Caylee looked a lot like JP Chatt, my money has been on Lee as her dad since very early on, but I am not sure if that's something that will ever come out unless Baez is using it as part of his strategy.

This is easy to answer.. they tested the DNA using a mitochondrial DNA testing method. You get your mitochondria from your mother. All of the women/girls of the As would have the same indistinguishable mitochondrial DNA.

Has anyone found the results of this comparison?

CB, the point I was pondering was that maybe Dr. Lee planted the hair during his inspection.  And, wasn't it more than just one soda can?  I'm going to try to get back into the docs, again.

Okay..I am trying to absorb all this, and I thank you guys for, as usual, being so up-to-the-minute on the case.

What seem to be the biggest new pieces of info from the docs?  I've been reading as fast as I can, and it seems the heart, the laundry bag and the possible parentage are the biggest news.  Anything else I should know?

BTW, in the JonBenet case, a red heart was drawn on the palm of her hand.

it is really interesting how few hairs were found in casey's car initially especially when compared to how many hairs were found after henry lee just looked through the evidence.  It shows how well her car must have been cleaned prior to LE searching it.

When the dna testing, mitrocondrial testing, came back on the deathband hair, on Foxnews, the Forensic expert said from that test, LE knew who the father was.  The only way I think he could have known that was if there were levels that related to a family member.  His wife is part of the defense now and I can't recall his name.

Lots of DNA evidence with hairs and evidence taken from the Car
The one document of transcripts/statements to LE within Cindy's boss/co-workers is very telling ~ that they do recall the Day - Slores car was found at Amscot
And have accounted for Cindy's response. As well as, her Boss is noted for telling Cindy prior that She told Cindy awhile back that Cindy should take Custody of Caylee away from Cindy. That she advised as well that Cindy should seek family Counseling.

When the conversation was said between Cindy's Supervisor and Cindy in regards to Cindy taking Caylee away from Casey is unclear.

Dr. Baden is the one who said with Greta or Nancy, maybe both, that "they know who the father is."  Since his wife works for the defense team, he should know. 

They could only know for certain if they obtained dna from the father as well as from Casey.  I mean, they could not know if the father were some drifter whose name Casey did not even know and whose dna was not available. 

Since they appear to know the name of the father of Caylee, (and that is important info for both sides to know), it must be someone who is in the mix, whose dna has been tested, etc.

And since they took Lee's dna for the express purpose of comparing it to Caylee's...well, they were at least thinking in that direction fairly early in the case.

I am very interested in what the supervisor at Cindy's workplace and others there had to say.  She is a motormouth and I feel certain she told them a lot about her problems with Casey.

Defense files motion to inspect crime scene

Also on Wednesday, the attorney representing Casey Anthony, Jose Baez, filed a motion to inspect the location where the remains of Caylee were discovered last month.

According to Orange County property records, the land on which the crime scene rests, belongs to a resident of Winter Park and is marked with "no trespassing" signs.

In the motion, Baez states that the owner has not responded to his requests to search the property and is asking for court intervention. 

"The defense experts need access to the property in order to conduct a proper investigation of the pertinent items in relation to this case," the motion reads.

A hearing date for motion has not yet been set

Capp I was thinking the Exact Same thing ... Would not be a lot left of that CAR after the Original Forensic Team went through the vehicle.
That and on NG when she had DR LEE on the Phone he said and I remember because of the PIZZA ..blah ..He said to NG that there was Meat found in the car ..HAM I recall that was rotting ... Because NG Piped up ... HAM found in the Tot Mom's Car ..and then he said frozen food and other things. But I do remember him saying MEAT was found.

Then he sort of trailed off onto another subject and dropped the findings within Slore's Car.

I have to go outside to take care of animals.  I can't read all this right now.  Don't know if I will be a ble to.  Caylee was a child I never knew but to whom I was drawn for some unknown reason. 

Now I just want to let loose and mourn her passing as she were one of my closest loved ones.  Reading of her things in a bag w/in a garbage bag made my heart just plummet.  Its finally sinking in about the misery she endured at that killers hands. 

I'm not sure if I care if it was an accident anymore.  And I'd like to know what kind of idiots she was hanging with who wouldn't go crazy on her at the mere mention of medicating a healthy child to make her sleep.  Boy, there's a lesson there.

God rest your soul, Miss Caylee.  I'm so, so sorry.

That is the guy I was thinking of in my earlier post.

He said that in light of the report LE knew who the father was prior to his wife coming on board with the defense.  There were only mitochondrial markers reported on.  I spent hours googling and there was some information that certain elevated markers would signify parentage on the father side being a family member.  So long ago now, but I know it was posted here by others.

Thanks, Deenie.   I have always thought that Cindy's co-workers must have heard plenty from her.  And none of them has come forward to talk to the media, so they are saving it for the trial, which is good.

Here is the thing -- you do not consider getting custody of your grandchild if your daughter is a good mom who loves the child deeply.

Cindy is clearly lying now or was lying then.  Either Casey was such a bad mom that she thought Caylee was unsafe in Casey's hands or Casey was a good mom.

Clearly, Cindy was singing a far, far different tune before Caylee went missing than she has been singing since.

Islandmonkey ~  I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's wife's tragic accident.  I thought the typo was funny too, actually.  And I only had to clean up a couple of quotes, so it wasn't so bad.  Other times, objectionable posts get quoted over 8 or 9 times before I can get it cleaned up, so it was mainly a reminder for monkeys that if it looks bad/wrong the first time it's posted, please don't quote it.  Laugh at it, but don't quote it.  Now, back to our regularly scheduled program... ::MonkeyHaHa::

I suppose the big question now is this:  Did Cindy exaggerate Casey's shortcomings as a mother?  Did she deliberately try to turn Casey's friends against her in order to keep Casey and Caylee under her roof?  Did she want to control Casey's life so that she could have Caylee with her?  How long had she been threatening Casey with getting custody?  Had she seen a lawyer about the possibilities of getting custody?  What had she been telling people about Casey's parenting skills or lack of them?  Was Casey really that bad a mother or did Cindy just want Caylee for herself?

In order to take custody from a parent, the grandparent has to have some pretty good reasons and documentation.  It takes a lot more than being lazy, out of work or partying to get custody of a child.  It takes the mother being grossly neglectful or abusive.  Cindy says now that Casey was never abusive to Caylee, that Casey loved Caylee deeply, that Casey was a good mom.

Why would this woman say one thing before Caylee went missing and something totally different now?  It makes no sense.  I think Cindy is as nutty as Casey is. 

Think about it.  If someone you know or work with came to you and said she was having problems with her daughter and worried about her granddaughter, what would you advise her to do?  I think before you would advise her to seek custody, you would have to hear that the mother was being very, very neglectful and doing things that no mother should do, including being abusive or putting the child in dangerous situations. 

If Cindy were not lying now, I would have more sympathy for her.  If she thought Casey was such a bad, bad mother, why be taking up for her now?  Is it all a matter or pride?  I hate to tell her, but her fantasy of the perfect little family was shattered long ago.

George described in detail what they both were wearing on the day he last saw them (16th) which I thought was odd, as I can't remember what anyone else was wearing unless it's something special-  the clothes that were found in the bag- does anyone remember if they are the same things he described....? on pg 10 of the first set of forensic reports it says that Dr. Haskell, the entomologist, sent back hairs and  vegetation from the plastic trash bag that had been sent to him for inspection.  Why would there be vegetation on the bag from the trunk?  Hmmm.  If she did re-wrap Caylee in the back yard, I hope that transferred vegetation from the Anthony's backyard can be traced straight to her trunk and then to where Caylee was found.

At the link Wyks just posted, I learned that it can be established that "Zanny" had indeed been mentioned before Caylee went missing. The name "Zenaida" apparently didn't come up until after the fact. There is also info about e-mails from Cindy indicating she thought Casey had something to do with Caylee's death.

Hudsunn if you read the Statement from " Charles" who is Cindy's co-worker as states for 6 yrs they have worked together. He says that he recalls back prior that Casey came to the Clinic with a long coat on and appeared to be Pregnant.
He found it strange that she passed by his desk and did not stop to talk to him. He said in the past she did stop to say Hi. He then asked Cindy about Casey being Pregnant and Cindy denied that Casey was Pregnant ..and Cindy ended the conversation ..
WHY would one not respond to a Co-worker that is of the Medical Profession - Who Casey .. No she is not pregnant.
And I am sure that each and everyone of the employee's has heard the Saga of the Ants for a very long time .. reported by Cindy .. everyday in the workplace. Because that is all that Cindy had -  Work, GA,LA & Slore, prior to Caylee's birth.
I think that the Statements that are recorded/released are sliced down to what is pertinent and that would be related to the Dates in Question. 

Just for saying if any Mother I knew thought for a Moment that there was a Smell within their Daughter's car of a Dead Body ... and Daughters Car was found & impounded ...and Daughter had not been seen in awhile .... UM ... I think MOM would not even call work, let alone go back to work.

My scenario: She did it that night, while Caylee was still dressed in her "go to visit GreatGrampa" clothes. Put her in the bag, with her blankie, and snuck her out to her car.

Maybe they had an argument on Father's Day and Cindy lunged at Casey and Casey screamed and yelled and it all got pretty bad.  Then Casey and Caylee went into their bedroom (we know they usually slept together) and Cindy and George went into their bedroom and went to sleep.  Casey waited until things were quiet and threw some things in a laundry bag and left with Caylee, not even knowing where they would go.  Maybe they slept in the car that night and Caylee started crying for grandma and Casey killed her.  Or maybe Casey deliberately decided that she would see Caylee dead before she would see her in custody of Cindy.

In the docs in which it mentions Richardo's interview, it says that when they were together Casey had mentioned Zanny and that he asked what it stood for and she said Zenaida. So it appears that the name Zenaida had been around prior to Caylee missing.

I believe that they would need to confirm Lee's DNA regardless if they are using the hair in the trunk with only an MDNA match. I don't believe that this necessarily hints at suspicion of incest

I've always thought that George was telling the truth when he said he saw Casey and Caylee leave on the 16th.. but with a twist. I believe that Caylee was already dead.. that Casey had her wrapped up and when she walked by her father to leave, simply told her father that Caylee was napping, she was going to work and dropping Caylee off at the sitter. I believe the reason George has never mentioned that Caylee was "sleeping" and carried out because now he KNOWS that he let his daughter walk out of the house carrying the body of his dead grandchild.

That is chilling and believable ...

I do remember such things being said. It was around the time that we were all trying to figure out " WHAT" was in the night Photo's of objects taken from the Ants House during the search warrant. The stick, the what ever it was thingy ..I don't know if it was ever figured out. It was metal. But I do remember it being said that the mattress was cut and that CINDY was mad because they tore up her house ........

Thanks, guys, for the extra info.  I read what the co-workers had to say.  It seems that they insisted she go home after the car was found, so she must have been visibly upset.  At the same time, she may have worried about losing her job. It seems clear that Casey was out of control around the house.  She was being fed, clothed and housed by her parents and still treating them with such disrespect. 

Maybe Casey had emotional and mental problems that the Anthonys just could not face up to.  They knew something was wrong with her, but they did not want to force her into treatment.  If Cindy really feared for Caylee's well-being, she must have had some good reasons.  But what were they?  Was it that Casey was seeming more and more unstable and unpredictable? 

It surprised me that Cindy complained to her co-workers about having to keep Caylee so much.  If she loved Caylee as much as she seemed to, one wonders why that was a complaint.  Maybe she just felt Casey was taking advantage of them in every way, which she was.  It does seem to be a conflict that she complains about having Caylee all during her vacation week, for example, and yet she still talks about getting custody.

As for the Lee-as-daddy possibility, I find it extremely odd that LE is not denying it and neither are the Anthonys and their lawyer, who always seem ready to deny even the slightest thing that appears in the paper.  If I were them, I would be shouting from the rooftops that this was untrue!  Yet not even Lee and his lawyer have issued any denials, and the rumors have been flying for months.

The clothing George describes Caylee wearing on the 16th  isnt what she is found in but appears what shes wearing in the nursing home video. From the items described found in the trash bag Caylees blanket and the few items found in the car, backpack, pullups a few toys. I noticed  theres been no mention of Caylees shoes.  This indicates to me that the child died either in the home or Casey was fleeing and didnt think to bother with shoes. If Casey left quietly on the 16th as George says then it seem Caylee would have shoes on.

the Anger we see in the latest released video of Casey probably isnt even close to what Caylee experienced  from her mom .

I've heard speculation that Casey may have been "living out of her car" with Caylee during the daytime, when she was supposed to be at work, and maybe even at night, if she had no place to stay.  And after the murder, she may have slept in the car with the dead body.  Who knows?  I could see her having a knife to spread peanut butter or slice an apple for a child or for herself.  I remember she called Jesse once and asked if she could come over and take a shower.  That made me think she may have slept in her car for the night.  Otherwise, she would have had a place to wash up.  Just speculating and rambling.  A knife might also have been used to cut the duct tape.

About the heart sticker, there was sticky glue residue that appears to be in the shape of a heart on the silver duct tape that was over her mouth. A heart shaped sticker was found nearby the remains. That's how I understand it.

When I looked at the picture of the book- I blew it up a bit and right at the top of the book appears to be a picture, its looks vintage and is of a man. It was really weird to me . I never did see a trashbag in the photo.

I think Cindy wanted to have Caylee around and possibly in her custody.  It is just disappointing and frustrating when the mother is SUPPOSED to be the giving care and they are leaving it to you.  IMO frustration at Casey NOT with Caylee. 
Sometimes us wives complain about our kids and doing all the work cuz our hubboes are lazy (not mine but my friends'  ::MonkeyWink::).  Complaining is not directed at children, rather at the fact that help is explected and not recieved from hubby. 

Why is she always trying to scoop Nancy when Nancy in large part gave her "stand in" shots that probably led to her getting this show "Issues" my God I cant stand her - she's such a wannabe.  Alot are covering this case but I just find it odd that every night she has to cover it knowing NG will, surely JVM has her own issues  :smt043   If I didnt care so much about this case Id never watch her & wont after we see Justic for Caylee completed

i'm not certain but i don't think there was a knife found w/ the body.  I initially thought there was b/c they list a stainless steel knife right after talking about evidence found w/ the body but i THINK they were referring back to the knife already taken into evidence (the knife in the car).  Does that make sense?

Somebody please point me to the document indicating there is human decomp fluid on the pants....I have tried to find this but cannot.  The photo on the evidence document appears to show stains near the bottom hem on some jeans, but I thought the pants that CA washed were gray pinstriped "dress pants."  Or am I confused?  (No kiddin.)  I would appreciate anybody pointing me in the right direction here. I figured those were the hairs that were shed or tranferred from him during his search.  I was more concerned w/ the hair that he found and pointed out to LE during his search.  I'm sure they watched him super carefully though.

The amount of hairs found after he left compared to the amount of hairs found during LE's initial search of the car is the reason that I thought the car had been cleaned so well.  If that many hairs were left after one person going through the evidence there should have been hundreds of hair in Casey's car (at least I would think).

In another search warrant for Casey's home on Hopespring Drive, where she lived with her parents and Caylee, investigators asked to collect: - Arts and crafts materials, stickers and scrap book material - Casey Anthony's shoes - Small plastic toy horses similar to one found at the crime scene. So here is my knee-jerk reaction: Casey Anthony developed to deeply cruel, angry child stage... and stuck there... and has been playing dress up with adult trappings for a while, sex, motherhood, employment, jr. chemistry... but the rest of her is still stuck as an all around nasty child; and not even a very bright one at that.

I'm a little floored by the visual of Casey decorating the little corpse she's just made, and how she probably felt regret that no one got to see how pretty she made everything with stickers... and that's it. That's as deep as Casey is, and as deep as she's ever going to be... I'd like to hear from Mental Health Professionals (do we have any lurking? please speak up!) who'd like to weigh in on this. Casey is defective, obbviously but is this something that can actually be cured? I've never heard of a "cured" version of this. I don't know anyone who used to be like this and now isn't. In 50 years is Casey going to be this withered little woman stuck as a vicious 4 y/o? I don't care what her diagnosis ultimately is, I'd like to understand how one treats this.

This is so sad as I had not thought about this possibility. I never believed George when he said he had seen both of them on the 16th. He described her hair bows and her outfit with such clarity when he gave his statement to the LE. I find it hard for a 'guy' to remember these types of details. I was discussing this with another monkey yesterday because Cindy's behavior hasn't added up to me. As a mom, if I were in a situation like she was with Casey and I had gotten into a fight with her and lost control of myself enough to choke her....I would hope that if Casey tried to leave with Caylee, that she could have prevented it. This makes me think that either she did not know or she pilled out and was in such a fog that she didn't care, or assumed Caylee was in bed.

Cindy claims to be so concerned. But you have to wonder, how oblivious do you have to be to have an invisible nanny for 2 years watching your grandchild? Then these 31 days go by.....she's says she is distraught on 7-3 because her Caylee is missing. If I'm Cindy and my daughter tells me that someone that cared for my grandchild had now kidnapped her, I'd be on the phone to the FBI so fast, Casey's tattoo would fly off. Just a day before she was telling Amy all the family dirt on what a liar Casey was and how she will rob you blind, now she is buying the kidnapping story? Never once a mention about the real killer.

She will be buried when one of the Anthonys secures full immunity.  Lee could go on the stand and say he killed Caylee because she was born of sin.  That could give a jury reasonable doubt and she could not be tried again.  Same with George and Cindy.  LE said nobody else will be charged until Caylee is put to rest from what I recall.  It might be a waiting game to hold LE at their word and bargain for immunity.  Full immunity.
