I'd be curious to know if Paulus ever set up offshore accounts for American companies. After reading about how corporations manipulate the system in order to not pay taxes I find it very plausible that you'd find many companies profits hiding in Aruba, therefor, increasing the likelyhood that Paulus did business with American companies. It'd be even more interesting to know if any of those where with any law firms or hotel companies.

In one case, a defense contractor explained that it created a subsidiary in the Netherlands to hire local nationals in order to win a contract with the Dutch government.

I have a hinky feeling that there will be negotiations happening behind the scenes between the Peruvian Judicial and Aruban/Dutch "powers that be".

For now Joran has holds the Ace in the card game.

If Joran is forced to served 30 years in a Peruvian lockup ... Aruba and Holland realize that he is not going to keep his mouth shut.  Joran will expose those who have knowledge and/or participated in the events encompassing the morning of May 30, 2005 as well as those who have knowledge and participated in the coverup agenda that has prevented justice from prevailing for Natalee Holloway.

The implications are far reaching.  Aruba/Holland's dirty little secrets encompassing respective underground economies will be exposed if Joran feels betrayed.  In a "rage" ... he take "passionate" action and reveal all.  In other words the Aruban/Dutch house of cards will collapse.

Page 182 - September 1 Helen calls to say the court is asking for DNA from the Kalpoes and Joran van der Sloot and that their attorneys are fighting this.  She also says the suspects are pointing the finger at one another.

Page 183 - Helen is very positive. "It looks good that they will remain in custody." she says.  Then about three hours after she tells me this encouraging news, a devastating call comes from an AP reporter.

"Paulus van der Sloot and his attorney are bragging to everyone that all three suspects are getting out day after tomorrow!

Then all the media start calling.  I call Helen, then FBI agent Bill and the U.S. vice-consul.  None of them have this information.  So we tell the media it must be a rumor.  But the word is out all over the island to the defense side that all three suspects will walk.

Four and a half hours after this announcement is made to international media by Joran's father and his defense team, the FBI calls to tell me it is indeed true.  So the three suspects who were last seen with my daughter, and who offered multiple versions of what happened that night, will go free.  And we are the last ones to find out.

Natalee's handwriting on her immigration card states that the duration of her stay here would be four nights.  It has been ninety-five.  And I have painstakingly counted every one of them.

When Helen calls, I stand in a corner of the hotel room, phone to my ear, tapping my head against the wall over and over.  Tears fall hard.  "I'm done, Helen.  I'm done.  No justice for Natalee in Aruba.  I'm done."

Pages 184 - And Bill explains how the release of the three suspects happened.  "The information the FBI was given was that the judge gave Joran thirty more days, up to October 1.  And he gave the Kalpoes eight more days.  But then the judge flew back from Curacao and faxed a reverse decision from there."  The reverse decision decreed that all three will go free.

The opportunity to hide behind Hurricane Katrina is too inviting.  The three suspects will be released while all eyes are turned to the devastation in New Orlean.

Page 185 - The last announcement I make on television is never seen.  Hurricane Katrina gives the island the cloak of cover it needs to let the suspects walk free and relieve itself of its media burden.

After watching the episode on the worlds toughest prisons which showcased Lurigancho prison in Peru, I don't think the urinator is having as great of a time as some may think. Living like a king in castrocastro is like being the king of a colony of rats. After watching the program last night I don't think urine yields much power unless if he is paying people off, either with the continuous flow of money, and or sex. Horrible visual I know, but he isn't sitting as easily as some pretend. Catch my drift Aruba...Unless if his family chooses to go broke trying to keep the urinator alive, his demise will come soon enough. I'm sure the Flores family are a very intelligent and smart bunch of people.

IMHO Kermit, the claws of Paulus run very deep. He knew the dirt on everyone, IMO, since I think he was very dirty in his dealings, once the coverup but at the same time the Tourism Council has to take responsibility for the cause and affect from the actions they have done to "protect" tourism, which backfired in their face!

Sure glad to read everything you and other Monkeys post here, making me a better person. Some things I wouldn't have asked to learn but are important now in the scheme of life. Hope that came out the way I wished! Love, IBE

If negotiations with the Peruvian Justice System fail ... negotiations that will permit Joran van der Sloot to return to Netherlands/Aruba to serve his his sentence for the murder of Stephany Flores ... I believe that the Aruban/Dutch "powers that be" will put out a hit on Joran while he is in the Peruvian lockup.

Joran is a liability.  He has too much knowledge and ... is unreliable.  The truth could spew out of his month in his next "confession" and ... the Aruban/Dutch house of cards built on the premise that justice would not prevail for Natalee Holloway will come tumbling down and ... all the Corruption in Paradise participants and underground economies would be exposed.

Think about it.  There had to be reasons that underage Joran was afforded VIP privileges in the casinos and clubs of Aruba.  There had to be reasons that underage Joran was afforded the freedom to gamble, drink and pick up tourist girls in the casinos and clubs of Aruba.

I have a Canadian source who I have been in contact with since the arrest of Joran van der Sloot.  This young man lives on the outskirts of Lima.  He has learned that bribes talk in the Peruvian Justice System from the bribing of a police officer to avoid a traffic citation right up to the bribing a judge to sway the outcome in a criminal trial.

I could be wrong in my speculations.  Time will tell.

You could be right.

I hope this feeling that I cannot shake is wrong ... this feeling that tells me that following a ruling by a Peruvian judge in the Stephany Flores case ... Joran is going to be returned to Holland/Aruba where he will be confined to a prison or mental facility.

I want so badly for Joran to rot in a Peruvian lockup for the next 30 years.  The implication is that life for Joran would be H--- ... justice will have prevailed for Stephany and ... in a roundabout way for Natalee and ... other Natalees and Stephanys will not be at risk.
